  • It’s hard to distinguish between genuine products and marketing hype these days. With outrageous claims, over the top advertising or social media flooding, it can be confusing and hard to decide where to spend your hard earned money.
    In this episode I go over 5 touring type accessories that not only add ease and accessibility to your setup, but are genuine products that have lasted the test of time on my setup over the years.
    These products are items that I genuinely use all the time, with or without my Lifestyle Reconn camper in tow.
    I hope that these products and ideas can help you out and maybe they are something that you are looking to implement in your build.

    One of the best most transparent youtubers getting around (in the 4wd and camping space). Your channel, wild touring, and WACA run rings around all the other flog channels with "greater audiences". Keep Staying Genuine mate, its ur greatest asset i believe.

      This channel has the best group of subscribers I’ve seen on any YT channel. There’s virtually never a verbal dust up in here (cough cough, ignoring just one dust up I think I started) 😂😳
      But the people here are all interested in what the channel is doing and have similar interests, without the toxicity. Nathan’s productions just keep getting better imo.
      This is not an easy gig, constantly trying to come up with new ideas, the expense and time commitment & the reward is not that high if your not chasing the sponsor credits.
      I think Nathan does well because he’s not constantly trying to hang tickets on himself like the ppl at the other channels seem to like to do. Also the way he throws factual information into his reviews verses the opinionated waffle you can find elsewhere.
      The only thing I’d like to see is a few more itechworld episodes 😂😏

      @@XploringOz(third time trying to post. Can links be posted here?)
      '30 Second Awning' have released Storm Chaser 270° Awning that has 2 flaps near the apex bar (Leaving link out) for an extra 200 buckeroos, to reduce the upward pressure of higher winds. With your time so far do you see a need for these flaps? Would you pay the extra given your time again?
      Cheers for your research and answer, if you have the time, Nathan. 👍

      @@VenidiciRobidici Hey mate, sorry about the blocks. I have it set for high scrutiny on links due to spam comments. I'm sure they will come through to my review box soon, but YT is often delayed.
      In relation to the Stormchaser, look I haven't needed it yet, however I probably would go for it it I was purchasing again as I can only see benefits with it. This being said, given how well my current one is working, I wouldn't swap it over 👍

    I think u forgot your best mod. Torque converter lock up kit. I use a different brand but fuel consumption on a trip is around 11 - 11.7! Best thing I've done.

    • @XploringOz
      @XploringOz  Рік тому +1

      Sure is another great mod, but I've actually reduced my lock up usage with my trans tune and trans cooler additions. I still use it, but not as much as I used too 👍

  • @rich9903
    @rich9903 Рік тому

    Hey Nathan. I purchased an UltraGauge based on your review of the product a while ago now and I agree that it’s an awesome bit of kit. The many and varied pieces of info you can program the different screen pages to is absolutely amazing.
    I would also recommend some of the Kaon gear (e.g. UHF rear door bracket mount, reverse camera mount, rear door fold down table (for a Prado) etc.) which aren’t overly expensive but very practical, top quality and super handy.
    One other accessory item which I’d highly recommend is the front and rear 4K BlackVue Dashcam. Apart from the safety/security/insurance perspective, it also allows you to progressively download and edit footage of your travel/4 wheeling adventures particularly given the 4K video resolution.

    • @XploringOz
      @XploringOz  Рік тому

      Awesome, yes the Ultraguage is a great piece of equipment!
      Kaon is great and my father-in-law who now owns our old Prado 150 has much of their gear in his setup.
      I do too also use a BlackVue camera for safety and entertainment too 👍

    • @rich9903
      @rich9903 Рік тому

      @@XploringOz The only downside with the UltraGuage that I've encountered thus far is the fact that I am unable to obtain my EGR temp (only just found out yesterday) unlike that for LC200's owners. Apparently, there isn't much demand for the EGR temp by Prado owners and so, the program codes weren't derived which sounds a bit backward to me but anyhoo ...

    • @XploringOz
      @XploringOz  Рік тому

      @@rich9903 For sure, however I will note that I'm not sure its a downfall of the Ultragauge itself, however the vehicle may not have EGT sensors to read from from factory.
      For example, my pre-facellifted 200 series doesn't have these sensors and therefore I can't access them either, however the newer model do. I think the Prado is in the same boat.
      I would definitely recommend EGT gauges though, I've just ended up adding my own seperate units 👍

    • @rich9903
      @rich9903 Рік тому

      Hmm … I just learned something new. I might need to look at getting a separate EGR gauge noting that my transmission case temp got a bit high when I was towing my caravan through the slightly hilly outskirts of BrisVegas once.
      I do have an aftermarket transmission cooler fitted but as we all know, you need reasonable airflow for them to work effectively. Any recommendations on a particular brand or type?

    I got the pins setup for the Max trax but after a few trips and plenty of mud I found it annoying trying to get them back on because the mud between the trax makes it difficult.
    Gone back to just strapping strapping them on the roof.

    • @krump743
      @krump743 Рік тому +1

      While the pins are a good idea i agree if using trax in muddy conditions the pins are a pain, definitley think they are designed for the influencer mall crawler crowd.

    • @XploringOz
      @XploringOz  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, this can cause an issue. If this happen, I too resort to straps, but often clean them when I can and back to using the pins. I just like the ability to easily and neatly lock them down between use 👍
