Purchased a sample set (12, 15, and 18 years) from the local shop. Twelve was okay, fifteen was great, and the eighteen is outstanding. The fifteen is my everyday scotch. I save the eighteen for very special occasions.
18 yr Glenlivet and Glenfiddich are some of my two favorites. Wonderful Scotches. If you haven’t gotten these two spend the extra money if you can afford it and you won’t be disappointed.
Got it for SGD 110+ in singapore, the stewed apple note on the nose is very apparent and the sherry, and the vanilla too. Sweet on the taste at first, then the wood spice starts to tingle your tongue. Very nice indeed! Almost finished up in 1 month though I try my best to have a dram sparingly everyday.
Got my first yesterday and I have no complaints. Sweet up front and the hint of spice at the end is just perfect. So far, my favorite that I've had the opportunity to taste.
Im new to whiskey, so I followed your advice...started with the 12yr then the 15yr and finally got to the 18yr. The later is by far my favorite followed by die 12yr.
I purchased both Glenfiddich 15 and 18. My taste prefers the 15. I suspect it because the 18 spends some time in American oak bourbon casks which imparts a distinct flavor. However, the 18 is highly aromatic with a sweet after taste.
Excellent & informative review! A quality single malt is great around the holidays (or just for oneself after a tough day) After drinking the cheap stuff during my time in the military....i decided to roll the dice and follow a friend's advice on the 18. Haven't looked back since... I do enjoy your reviews its opened up a totally different world...regarding whiskey. Cheers!
Hi Whisky.com, been watching your videos over the last few weeks! Taken some of your advice in my recent purchases. Just watching this video, you did not have an English review for the Glenfiddich 21 yrs that you mentioned briefly in this video. I noticed you had one in German however the subtitles UA-cam has not been very accurate by my guess, so I haven't been able to keep up. Here is me hoping for a Re-Review
This was the first scotch that I tasted something I later heard others describe. Apples. Man was this bottle a turning point for me. Scotch fan for life. Indeed I got a second bottle and it was the same but I could taste differences in it due to being a different batch. Love 18 year Glenfiddich.
Thanks a lot for your reviews! Extremely charming and detailed! I'm quite new to whisky world and I was surprised when tasted this whisky for the first time. I didn't really excect a whisky to be so soft and easy to take. But my next experience was macallan select oak wich is more spicy and less sweet. It is OK, but it is not i'm looking forward to taste within my next weekend or vacation. Can you please advice something sweet and soft comparable to Glenfiddich 18 YO or better for not more than let's say one hundred puonds?
These are quite comparable: Aberlour 18 (with video) It is a bit sweeter and with more sherry/fruity aromas. www.whisky.com/whisky-database/bottle-search/details/fdb/Bottles/Details/aberlour.html Aberfeldy 21 www.whisky.com/whisky-database/bottle-search/details/fdb/Bottles/Details/aberfeldy-10.html
Greetings from across the pond. As a new scotch drinker I tasted this whisky while watching your video. Thanks for the video, it was very informative and I appreciate it. Have you ever done a tasting on the Whyte & Mackay Special blend?
The Livet has more wood characteristics and the Feddich has more fruity, so It all depends on which you yourself prefer. I prefer the Feddich but both are great.
Putting a question out there to see what people think. If you had a choice between the Glenfiddich 18 or the Johnny Walker XR 21, which one would you go for?
Dillon Crampton I wouldn't ruin scotch with tobacco...if you must smoke I recommend a nice hybrid of dank marijuana to compliment your scotch. It's the new way.
The Glenlivet 18, in my opinion, is a little better overall. A little smoother, a little more flavorful. However, this Glenfiddich 18 is fantastic. I just prefer the Glenlivet 18 of the two. I have them both and no matter which one you pour, you're getting a wonderful dram that's well worth it.
Glenfiddich 18...wow it looks elegant just by the bottle, the Johnnie walker bottles are pretty too, and look really awesome, but it seems more glamorous than elegent by just looking. I will see if I could get an 18 year as a novelty, not a drinking one, like Johnny black, but what would you recommend to me as a novelty whiskey that you drink on occassions or just not often at all and what would you recommend as a drinking one? I have liked the Johnnie walker black and I do drink jack daniels no.7 but I want to branch out and try more whiskeys
It really depends on your specific tastes and preferences. I started out with Glenfiddich 12. Went to Glenfiddich 15 and love it. But Johnnie Walker Black label is my preference for regular drinking as it's priced better than a 15 yr old whisky and is better tasting than many single malts for the same price. Because of the smokiness that I love from black label, I have tried and like many smoke and peaty whisky's. Which transitioned me from Speyside to Highland to now Islay scotches. As an occasional dram, I love lagavulan 16. It's pricey, but if you like peaty and sweet and salty, it's quite a luxury. For a peat monster, Ardbeg so far is the best I've tried. And if you want to venture into American bourbon, I'd recommend Buffalo Trace, and Four Roses Small Batch for smoothness. Woodford Reserve if you love oak and leather.
hi, I really love your videos and I wish I had the capability to detect all the aromas and flavours that you do! ;) I really need your help. I wanted to buy something special, different without loosing a leg or an arm. Something good but also nice to expose in the cabinet. My choice was Glenmorangie Signet! In Australia (where I live) it costs little bit more than $200 but now with this video you are making me so confused! Ahahahha The Glenfiddich 18 costs $145... now, what's your advice??? Cheaper, less flashy package but full of character? Or dearer, different and coming in an elegant package???
Cinnamon was mentioned in the introduction, but not in the actual tasting. Horst said: we'll see if it's there, so, probably not. Very good review, thanks!
It's strange. I like the 12-year-old, and love the 15-year-old, but this one I really, really didn't like. It's possible that my inexperience at the time that I had it played a part (like maybe I didn't let it open enough before drinking it or something), but I found it to be very thick (almost soapy) at first, devolving into a very woody, chewing-on-bark taste afterward. I finished the bottle but I really didn't enjoy it at all. Maybe I need to give it another try now that I'm more experienced with tasting.
The barrels any whisky is aged in imparts different flavors. I hate cherry cask aged whisky. Your taste is fine, you have found a preference for a different type of barrel. It is not wrong or right.
It's weird ... I love the 15 yo. Glenfiddich (it's one of my favourites), but I really did not like the 18 yo. The taste (for me anyway) ranged from so woody it actually felt like I was chewing on tree bark, to - believe it or not - soapy. A dish-soap type taste. Maybe it was the batch I had (don't know the number, it was years ago), or maybe my tastes don't run that way, but this was the whisky that taught me that 'older' doesn't always mean 'better'.
You’re making good videos the only thing I want to destroy your videos is when you save the whiskey and you gargle you can hear all that nasty voice annoys out of your mouth you should put the microwave away does the strata whole video
Anyone find this guy’s voice soothing and listen to it while falling asleep?
Yeah.
Listen to it while sipping some fiddy 18.

Very true..

I've purchased a bottle earlier today. Can't wait to experience it.
Got my first yesterday and I have no complaints. Sweet up front and the hint of spice at the end is just perfect. So far, my favorite that I've had the opportunity to taste.
I love your review. Understandable, classy but not snobby (i think some reviewers may want to learn a lot from you). Excellent
Amazing Scotch. Just got my hands on my first yesterday. Best I've had yet.
This mans voice is so soothing
Bought a bottle for my wedding. The Glenfiddich 18 years old is fabulous. Love it!
My favourite whiskey I've ever tasted, quite pricey now for a bottle but great quality and taste.

I really enjoy your all videos. Thanks my dear. God bless you
between that whiskey and yellow spot witch one is more smooth cor you
This 18yo one is SO complex and tasty that he finished the whole glass......haha, right on!
Good whisky cannot go to waste....
This guy has added modified sounds to tempt people 😂

Which is better blue label or glenfiddic 18 ??
Thank you I have made up my mind to buy this after your review never had Glenfiddich before
Enjoy!

Please tell me Glenfiditch 18 is better than Chivas Royal Salute 21?
I'm getting this for my eighteenth birthday (no worries legal age is 18 over here) and i CANNOT wait
For the price it's outstanding quality

I went to the glenfiddich distillery in 1989 and boy do I wish I'd bought a bottle of the pure malt or 12 year old
My all time favorite! Everytime I fly, I would pick a bottle up from the duty free and polish it off with friends!
Simply pleasure to drink that one ☝️ one of best single malts I’ve try
This scotch whiskey is divine. Love from Australia.
Hi Horst, which one you prefer 15 or 18? Cheers

+FUBAR ! Thank you
Glenlivet 18...hands down better than the fiddy 18
Glendronach 18. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
Listening to swish the whiskey around in your mouth annoys the shit out me... yet I still come back to watch more reviews 😂
stephen kennedy hace you done it yourself?. It's quite a pleasure for the senses
Got me a bottle of this 18. Good stuff.
Putting a question out there to see what people think. If you had a choice between the Glenfiddich 18 or the Johnny Walker XR 21, which one would you go for?
Glenfiddich 18. You are unknowingly comparing apples to oranges.
Glenfiddich is a single malt Scotch.
All Johnny Walkers are blended Scotch.
What's a good scotch that would go well with a Cohiba Cuban cigar
Dillon Crampton I wouldn't ruin scotch with tobacco...if you must smoke I recommend a nice hybrid of dank marijuana to compliment your scotch. It's the new way.
Dillon Crampton Glenfiddich 15
I prefer rum

Glenlivet 18 is a bitter-sweet dram. This one just just only sweet. (no excess dark tannins which contribute to the bitterness).

"... twice as expensive as the 12yr" he says. Try nearly 3x where I live. 12yr is $43 and 18yr is $123.
Boom, horst downed the glass! It's a good one

3820 batch is good. I love this whiskey... no chaser required. Smoothest shit ever
This was my first single malt whisky
Cost me 96 USD for 700 ml bottle from Dubai Airport with an offer of 200 ml bottle free as a bundle pack
I swear this is the best whisky I have ever tried. I pay 150 a bottle it is the best
I keep hearing glenlivet 18 is better.
5:02 5:22 hmmmma
Glenfiddich is very difficult to drink as it is very dry and sharp on the ballet and anything but smooth.
Nice baked apple pie is what I tasted.
Very drinkable dram. And available everywhere!
This is what the client does behind the scenes when waiting for the mandalorian to bring him the asset.

Are you talking about the 15 yr solera or the distillers edition?
I got 12 15 14 18 and 50 years
All of those I have the most the taste the same
Get your taste buds checked bro
