Like many Castlevania games, Portrait of Ruin has extra alternate play modes available after completing the primary quest. In this case, you get to play as Richter Belmont and Maria Renard, using a dual character system very similar to the main quest.
mtbRc ( tasvideos.org/... ) improves his previous movie ( tasvideos.org/... ) by 29.15 seconds, thanks to better overall optimisation and the usage of the sliding tackle.

Richter is so badass he can beat anything in a race vertically.
And here we have... the Richtaria Paradox, an amalgamate of two beings who had slain Dracula in a forgotten age. After a long time, their wills to live had finally created a dual being capable of mass destruction.
A young girl, pure as can be, and an anime teen boy, wielding a famous weapon, now a soulless amalgamation thirsty for Dracula's kneecaps.
I love how Richter and Maria kill the bosses in less time than their intro took, and then they don't even stick around to watch them die.
A man and a little girl walk into Dracula's castle...

@@eschcal9839 He was definetely faster in Rondo of Blood than Smash he even has way less lag throwing the Axe in Rondo of blood. Meanwhile in smash, the axe is so slow and weak that it's just sad.

don't get me wrong, Richter moves really fast, and is a speedrunner's dream, but his damage and defense are so low, and his HP is really low too.
I mean if you could equip items for Richter it'd be like godmode OP

oh yeah, explain how you absorb Death's Soul in Aria Of Sorrow, Dawn Of Sorrow, and Harmony Of Despair.
Maybe the very form of Death’s body is his soul...
I think what Dracula and Soma "Soul Steal" isnt excactly Death's soul but its essence/existence as the very aspect of death itself. Combine that with Dracula's blasphemy and opposition against god being Dracula's own essence and you get something akin to a devil i.e this boss' final form.
Where is it ever stated that Death has no soul?
Honestly this isnt even out of character for Maria, she's famously overpowered lmao.

Nintendo DS. It's such a good game, and I highly recommend getting a DS for it if you don't have one (3ds/2ds also works) but in order to unlock Richter/Maria (which is what you see here), you have to unlock it through main game, by getting the good ending.

It's not necessary, you just need to beat the whip's memory to unlock Richter mode
