    Heres the complete list of Mods ( I forgot to mention) you need to do so this engine will fit:
    :Driver engine mount is slightly further back of the origional so you need to drill a hole in the metal bracket so you can move it forward.
    :Use the Jimny manifolds (they bolt stright to the 1.6 with no mods)
    :Run the bottom coolant hose infront of the engine mounting rather than through it.
    Thats it 👍
    Hope you enjoyed and found this video useful.

      I’ve never done an engine swap so this was great to see, what put me off trying it was does the ecu need changed, injectors programmed etc how far can you go before getting a Q plate and how do our “friends” in the insurance racket respond? Cheers for another great video, Alan.

    • @lifes.projects
      @lifes.projects  4 роки тому

      This is a really simple engine swap as reguards to a bigger engine. As the blocks are nearly identical everything from the 1.3 fits to the 1.6. It runs on the 1.3 manifolds and injectors etc so the only thing thats changed is the piston size.
      Must say i can definately feel it. If i was to swap it for something else i would have to make a wiring loom and fit a new ecu Etc.
      As for the insurance you just put non standard engine. But i am yet to find out what that will cost 🤣

    Hi there,today I saw one of your videos for the first time
    You have make my day,thank you ever so much
    I own a Jinmy jeans 2004 model with about 100k milles
    Im really happy with it but I wish it coud have a better power plant
    As it hapends yesterday I saw a second hand vitara engine 1600cc for sale for 300 euros and since them I have been dreaming of put it on my car
    Is not a huge diferent but more engine capacity meants more torque,wich is a gain of 22nm @ 100 rpm lower range plus 17 extra HP @ 400 rpm range from the 1328 cc block
    Evry litle bids helps and if in the MOT dont see the engine change,as they looks the same ioutside all I can say is happy days indeed
    Cheers mate you have gain a new like and a followerkeep us happy with your suzuki Jinmy videos

    Hello buddy.
    The conversion you did looks amazing, and easier than I imagined. I want to do the same on my Jimny g13 2.000 model.
    I will ask you a few things that will help me a lot for the conversion.
    1. Did you use all the g13 engine sensors or did you change them? even the lambda (L) sensor is the same of g13?
    2. Αll exhaust pipes remained the same as g13;
    3. Do you have a problem with the official smoke limits (Co2) of the exhaust?
    4. Do the holes you drilled in the engine have a long-term reliability problem? (because aluminum is sensitive to shocks)
    5. Is there a cable or connector or lamp on the dashboard that did not work afterwards?
    6. Did you change the mapping of the ECU? The fuel is OK in the whole range of speeds?
    7. The radiator and liquit of g13 is enough to cool the g16 and the a/c?
    Finally .... just these few. Thank you for your time to answer me.

    • @lifes.projects
      @lifes.projects  3 роки тому +6

      Hi mate
      Yes all the sensors from the 1.3 including the lambda.
      Yes used the original 1.3 exhaust system.
      No the emissions remain the same and passes and MOT.
      The only thing i did with the holes is make some better washers / spacers so it fits better.
      No everything on the dash works perfect
      No i used the 1.3ecu and didnt change a thing
      Yes the radiator is fine. You have to change the route of the bottom coolant hose (not difficult) and use the 1.6 thermostat
      Glad you enjoyed it. It is a very simple engine change as the engine share so many similarities.

    I come from Germany ... it will be difficult with TÜV ... but I'll ask Off Road Boeckels if he will install my Jimny with Vitara engine with TÜV approval ..
    Do you have a problem with approval? If not .. you are fine! :)

      No i dont have a problem. As long as it goes through the emissions test and is mounted correctly we dont have any issues. I know they are more strict in germany but i cant see you having any issues.
