      Because of my manufacturing delays for product orders which feeds many families here, the HondaK project sits until I have time. It can be done now but it’s super expensive and is Suzuki Guys can’t rub two quarters together very often.

I've blown up a 1.6 8V and ran a 16v into the ground (watched compression go from 175psi to 130) in 5 years despite trying to take good care of it. Good morning Myron, well it’s morning here in the UK 01:08 am. How’s the snowboarding going?
    Have been watching your videos recently for information & inspiration. A massive Thank You Man - you’ve proper set the brain going. Having a really good look into YJ springs for my SJ413 KJA. It’s a daily but does get used off road, I’d say at one 3rd in the dirt for fun & work (I’m a tree surgeon, it’s my work truck).
    Iv been through two 1.3’s doing rebuilds when I after I’d killed them. Currently running the 1.6 8 valve. Spent last Christmas doing a rebuild on it for second time, got a spare that I’m building up. Due to the mileage I do, have a big alloy radiator & 10 row oil cooler. No dramas as yet 🤞🏻.
    Anyway engine swaps, have been looking into dropping a Mazda MX3 V6 (1.8) or maybe a 2ltr. It has a 6 bolt fly wheel for starters & I am very familiar with Mazda engine swaps. Having a Eunos with a V6. Am yet to draw anything up on paper but just thought I’d throw the cat amongst the pigeons to see who bits.
    It is a shame how the owners forums have degenerated to a bullying culture, it’s the same with some of the MX5 ones. To that end I stay away & talk things through with a machine shop (cost me a fortune in tea & biscuits) haha !!
    Finally Man, if I had the money I’d buy You up in shot & keep You as the face. It’s your baby but people like continuity which is important to the brand.
    Take care Man, Thank You

      My pleasure as always. Had the pleasure of working very close with a Brit. The accent, the manners, the habits. He really made an impression on me. When I first met him, ww2 was a mere 30 years earlier. His BoB experiences were riveting.
      Appreciate your comments. I personally never got involved in the rotary swaps. I think it’s because I rebuilt my Rx3 rotary in the late 70s. Was a learning experience. After starting a family back then everything was big and powerful. I went back to V8 stuff. Got into Camaro for a while. The wife and I always talked about the dream of how we would be playing with Camaros later in life. She says this is my dream just not the same car.

    I'll be up front, I'm not terribly fluent in gear talk. But, I have a 1991 Suzuki Jimny (JA11) with an F6A (657cc) engine that I got from my time stationed in Japan. The intent was to always do an engine swap on it, but I've neglected it for too long while I've been still overseas. Now that I'll be more collocated with it, I want to finish this project, but it looks like finding engines (and people with knowledge on the subject) are starting to dry up pretty fast.
    You mentioned quite a bit how the conversion kits are built for pairing with the G13 engine. Do you know if the JA11 with F6A engine I have will be able to use any of these conversion kits? Is the 5-speed manual transmission I've got in it going to work with a 2.0 or 2.3 engine swap? Any assistance or knowledge you're willing to share would be greatly appreciated.

    I hear you when you say you are not a big fan of the 1.6 16valve. For the many of us running them, what do you think can be done to prevent blocks from cracking? Is the original radiator the cause of overheating and the aluminum radiator swap the answer or is there something else dogging the engine?

    • @Zuksoffroad
      @Zuksoffroad  3 місяці тому +1

      I explain this very clearly in another video if you need a link I added it. The temp sensor must be in coolant at all times on a 16v and the biggest issue is trapped air or a small leak that goes unnoticed because we do not open the radiator very often to look. We see coolant in the bottle and go oh well must have coolant.

      I am in the process and am not that far along but my scouring of the internet suggests the reason this is less popular is that you need to open up the transmission tunnel a little bit to make them fit. No sheet metal work and no driveshaft work if you keep the original transmission.

    302 swap or v6?

    • @Zuksoffroad
      @Zuksoffroad  2 місяці тому

      No not a silly question. I have answered it hundreds of times.
      It really has to be done right.
      Example the correct way would be full blown mud rig. Axles at minimum 1tons. Linked suspension on nitrogen load bearing coil overs. Axles at front and rear of frame.
      Complete change of drive train engine trans t-case axles on 40” tires minimum
      Or making a slammed hotrod also works.
      Trying to put a v6 in and wheeling it don’t work with kits on market. The samurai t-case becomes a weak link and a rock catcher when it is level with the rear dif and a foot in front of it.
