Rusty Crimp Press Restoration - Tool Restoration | Mister Patina
In this video im restoring an old Crimp press for 12 Gauge caliber ammo. I bought it online from a private guy. This Crimp press got several marks "MD" - i couldnt find any information on the internet about this brand/company - if you know something about it feel free to write it in the comment section or contact me.
Because of the strict gun laws in germany - iam using this Crimp press just for restoration and decoration. Iam not allowed to test it with real ammunation, so theres no final test.
I hope you enjoyed the video, if you have any questions or suggestions, you can write an email, i try to answer asap.
Thanks for watching! :-)

Great job on that roll crimper. I see there is a few people asking questions about that tool but didn’t see the answer. So yes that tool or a version like it exist today and that one you restore can load shotgun shells today. But... that is used to roll the rim of a shotgun slug not for crimping target loads or birdshot. Today’s roll crimps chuck in a drill press to speed up the operation but this oldschool roller would still get the job done! Again beautiful work sir.
I've reloaded pistol, rifle and shotgun ammo for about 45 years now, and I can say I've never seen such a hand loader ever. Interesting indeed. Thumbs Up!
Thanks for your comment Gary! 🙂 im very happy that I could show you this Tool! I will make another Video with an empty cartridge to show you how it works. Greets from 🇩🇪🙂
The undisputed king of metalwork restoration!
Thanks Andrew!
Amazing! Again, the care and thoughtfulness you put into each restoration is great to watch. I love it when you've figured out how to make or adapt a missing or broken part. Thanks for another great video!
Very nice job. I didn't know what it was until I saw another comment talking about what it was. I would have never guessed. You do very nice work. Keep the videos coming.
It's used by the very old hunters who have the habit to make their own cartridges ! When I was young, during the 60's I had seen my grand father used the same tool but the cooper plate could be changed for every caliber 12, 8, 6 .
This one is very old because you have a little place to put the tail of " broche " cartridges they don't used " amorce " in the bottom but a little stick placed on the bottom ring of the cartridge !
This system had be leaved after many accidents when the cartridge exploded when they failded down !
Just by the title, I know this is going to be my favorite video on your channel!
Haha! :-)
Amazing job looks great love the colour great job and finish and remember#stay safe and make 🍺🍺👍👍
Hey that's a cool little Press. I really enjoyed your Video. Thank you for sharing it. Stay safe with all the madness.
Thanks for your feedback Texas, I’m very glad you enjoyed :-)
Awsome job buddyyyy 👍👌
That's dope man very cool. Would be nice to see it crimping a shell
Thanks man! Yeah, but the German gun laws are very strict, so I wasn’t able to :/
@@misterpatina Germany huh it's a beautiful country bro, I understand gun laws can suck, fortunately we have looser ones here in the states.
Hey man, nice job on the restoration! Good find with this one, I had no idea a tool like this existed.
Hey Random! 🙂 thanks so much! This Press is just part 1 of 3, I bought a whole set for reloading ammunition. You’ll see the other parts in the next time! Congratulations for your subs, your stats are amazing! Keep it up, we stay in touch!
@@misterpatina Sweet, I'll definitely be on the lookout for the next upload! Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad to see your channel is growing as well!

E' sempre interessante vedere il tuo lavoro. Anche questa volta è stato fatto con maestria. Bravo. Ma questo oggetto a cosa serve? Grazie della risposta.
It is always interesting to see your work. This time too it was done with skill. Good boy. But what is this object for? Thanks for your answer.
Thanks for your comment Orro! This tool is used for crimping (closing) the end of 12 Gauge shotgun shells 🙂
Nice work.
Thanks!

Hi bro 👋👋👋 awesome restoration 🔥💣👍👍👍👌🏽✌🏻🇷🇺
Thanks Bro! 🙂👌🏻
Neat job! Does it work with modern shotgun shells?
Thanks Austin! Since the gun laws in Germany are very hard, I wasn’t able to test this beauty :-(
Love your videos! 👍🏼
Hey Mike, thanks Bro!
Eine schöne und gelungene Arbeit. Nur, wofür ist das Ding zu gebrauchen? Weiter so.
Mister Patina what is it use for 👷♂
You can crimp Shotgun shells with it
Have you heard of Hammerite paint, mate? It gives a hammered look to what you're painting. I love it. Lol. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Hey, yes Iam using it in some of my other videos 🙂
Thanks a lot!

Haha!
यूज कैसे होता है ये भी बताना जरुरी है,जो नही बताया गया
Before I read what it was for, I could a sworn it had to do with cigars... Cigars, or sex - I wasn't quite sure.
Another nice job!
Haha, when I first saw it online, I had thought the same! 😄
Thanks Mr. Klugh!
nice restore--except the color-----ugh!! lol
😄😄
I like the color. It’s similar to the shade of green used by RCBS, a manufacturer of reloading equipment here in the U.S.
I know I’m late to the party, but if your interested I have several shells that are no good to reuse. If you’re interested I’ll knock the spent primers out and mail them to you.
Mister Patina? I don't see no patina left on this piece. Not that I care. Bur still....you may want to consider changing your name to Mr. Teal Paintjob.
Take a closer look, that ain’t teal, that’s RAL6000 Patinagreen! 😄
This is a case of the ‘before’ was better than the ‘after’. I appreciate you making it functional but you stripped and painted over ALL the patina. I have to agree with the comment that you should rename your channel. The monogram on that raw steel is one of the coolest things and it is virtually lost in layers of paint.
