Josh could an entire hour without repeating himself a single time, what a phenomenal player.
beast.
Absolutely
agree
He’s on a completely other level!
He’s unreal dude
my uncle Kirk Fletcher is one of the best to ever do it, super humble and gifted the guitar playing speaks for itself
I'll be stealing some of his riffs.... hope you don't mind.
He's a superb player. His comp playing really shows his musicianship to me. I'm a guitar player (pretty limited - but what I do, I do well), so I have a lot of experience playing with others. I have to listen to him some more. The several times I've seen clips, he's been playing rhythm most of the time.
He was so cool when I messaged him on Facebook to express my admiration for his work. Just a total gentleman. "Keep playing!". Inspiration needed, and given.
Thanks to your Uncle!
"My Turn" is my fave modern blues album atm, it's phenomenal.
@@melsimpson428 That's a proper musician's mindset. But man oh man! Can he solo when he wants to!!
fantastico maravilloso KIRK
Josh looks like the guy who quit high school so he could fish full-time, but DAMN, can he play. Three incredible talents!
Josh has to be one of the best improvisers about hands down. The guy has chops for days
Check out his tutorial s on line. Mind = blown. ua-cam.com/video/H6KfPW3MVkM/v-deo.html
@@TJjjjjjjjjjj I watch this video about once a week. This is 7 and a half minutes of the best advice any learning guitarist will ever need. IMO, priceless!!
Jorey Reitman hahahaha so do I mate it’s amazing how such a short video ends up with me noodling for a few hours each time I watch it
@@TJjjjjjjjjjj I love jazzin up the blues.
Jorey Reitman you should check this sessions at norms is you haven’t already that is lol ua-cam.com/video/KXJOiAhbSCE/v-deo.html
Love how their styles and sound are so different but mesh so well. Ariel has the quirky, innovative, almost exploratory playing, Kirk has a more classic, tasteful, soulful approach and Josh is just a machine. His vocabulary on the guitar reaches Stevie Ray Vaughan levels, just an endless well of awesome guitar phrases.
Love how Ariel is count 8/8 and Josh and Kirk are counting 4/4 with the foot tapping.
These guys are real musicians, Ariel came in soft so Kirk and josh also went soft on the rhythm to match his dynamics. Love to see that
Absolutely jaw dropping stuff from all 3 major ‘heavies’- the level of musicianship, dynamics, groove, pure chops, and taste on display here is stunning. Masterclass!!
I wholeheartedly agree 👍 absolutely one of the best renditions of Crosscut Saw I've heard.....👏👌👍🎸🎸🎸😎
Josh Smith's vocabulary, variation and techique are out of this world. I'm blessed to have stumbled across this man today, thanks UA-cam recommendations!!!
abit late to the party if your channel name is GuitarSolos? :)
@@davewestfoils I am as surprised as you are, that's for sure. Let's agree that it's better later than never. I would've missed out on something big if it was the latter.
And Josh is amazing. But what a hidden gem Kirk Fletcher is. Seems like such a humble guy and an incredible player.
Jeffrey Richard he’s a great lead player and doesn’t really get the recognition he deserves.
Kirk Fletcher’s tone and timing are fantastic. My favourite contemporary blues guitarist.
Josh is one of those guys who "never dries up," like Clapton said of Stevie Ray.
Wow. All guitars so clean too! Not a note missed. Josh is on another planet man. Get Ariel on his slide and he's just so unique.
One of the absolutely finest jammings i’ve heard……. ever
Kirk Fletcher brilliant player .. and one of the few who can make ANY guitar seems like a kids model :D
Ariel is so weird.. in the best most amazing way. Love his style
This makes me smile... the level that I can only imagine of reaching... ouch!
how are you progressing?
@@lightninray that is the most thoughtful thing I've read on UA-cam. way to be a nice human being
@@eyeceeyooh :)
You can take lessons....
From these guys on Truefire.
They are not lethal!!😉
People comparing these to eachother, they’re all great. Completly different approches going in to their respective solos. Saying someones greater on this level is like saying what candies you like the most. :)
Amen 😀
Indeed
Kirk Fletcher’s solo beautiful … the phrasing sat so well in the groove and chord sequence … a really good blues guitarist.
lucky for the rest of us, Josh sold his soul and we can enjoy his devilish AWESOMENESS...
Ariel and Kirk r obviously also insanely GIFTED
I listen to this at least once a week. What an incredible performance. It brings me so much joy listening to this, i just want to start dancing. Absolute legends!
Josh is a beast. Damn. All those grace slides.
Ariel is killing it!!! They all are really!!!
Josh is the freakin man!
Touch, tone, taste, technique, and timing
These guys are the future of the blues, and the future is looking bright!
I 2/3 agree with you.
I can’t stop smiling. Playing like this would solve all my problems
Really good players living their best lives right there and what a joy to watch and hear it.
Man these guys are ridiculous!! If I had even a tenth of their talent I'd be happy. I love Kirk's feel, he really sings the blues with his playing and has some ridiculous chops. Josh is a master of the guitar, his playing has that jazzy inflection and his improvising flows so nicely, it flows right through him almost effortlessly. Ariel Posen is cool as fuck and his playing is super interesting, he really takes you to a place that you don't expect. WOW.
I think this is the best "Jam" I've ever heard. What a blast.
Josh Smith killed them! You are amazing Josh
Josh Smith is AMAZING. Never runs out it ideas. Every chorus sounds entirely different.
WOW, all are great but the first two soloists gave a mad cool awesome clinic on how to solo with excellence and lock in a groove with band members . . .
P90 sounds fantastic in goods hands ! And what all awesome hands here...
it amazes me how 3 guys can get together...start jamming, and not one glaring error or lame idea comes out. Incredible
8:45 MANNNNN that lick was smooth as butter on a hot biscuit.
Josh and Ariel simply incredible … and Kirk on rhythm is a beast
Josh Smith is a monster, and he keeps getting better!
I was not prepared for how awesome this would be. Jeez, you gotta warn a guy that he's about to get his FREAKING MIND BLOWN...
Haha!
Same man. Dang.
01:43 those licks man geez

That is some of the best off the cuff playing I’ve ever heard right there. Insane.
Ariel has a very unique approach. Usually he tunes the guitar in standard B (E, B, G, D, A, E are in the 5th fret). Fantastic player.
These guys are just dripping with guitar virtuosity! They have practiced so much that it’s in ‘em and it’s got to come out!
They're all fine players, Josh just has that style that is so well versed in every great player, the guy is a master of the instrument.
one of the best jam ever seen.
This jam is full of incredible moments. From simple splashes of beautiful tone to pure harmonic brilliance. One of my favorite moments is at 8:44. Josh Smith is definitely running away with the torch and I'm glad that he is!
It's always fun and refreshing when guys are ripping together but not having a head cutting contest
All due respect to Posen and Fletcher they are great players far better than I will ever be.....but Josh Smith is on a WHOLE other level here.
One of the best videos from NAMM for me. They all have a fantastic ear for harmony and feel but are unique from each other at the same time!
Three marvelous players!!! Thanks so much for sharing this!!
That was top shelf - Josh and Kirk - I am familiar with but did not know too much about Ariel. He's another awesome player. NAMM had some excellent jams! Thanks for posting.
Great work, as always Natasha, your recordings are pro...both video and audio. You effort is greatly appreciated! GB!
made me smile with joy !!!
so great! I am so thankful to newly discover these guys.
Oh the annual Smith, Fletcher and Posen Jam from NAMM video ! Love it everytime
this is the greatest thing....keep watching it over and over!!!!
Josh blows my mind, what a player!
Amazing superb playing from these guys!
Josh Smith is such a underated legend!
I couldn't agree more...
Josh Smith is not underrated. Everyone holds him in really high regard.
Legends are not underated. They're legends.
Three of the VERY best... thanks guys for the inspiration j-)
Josh smith endless and endless swagoo tasty terrific licks
A lot of learning right here..great sound..smooth..great licks !! Thank You Gents !!

The last guy suprized me BIGTIME

Awesome. Individually and collectively. Talent personified.
Jim Morrison standing in the background (denim jacket) taking it all in with obvious appreciation for the talented players and great guitars....
All of them are incredibly talented. Was smiling throughout the whole video, what an awesome performance.
josh the monster....all are great.
These guys are some of the best!!
Always one of my favorite NAMM videos is when these 3 jam on Collings guitars

Collins Guitars are some of the finest made by some amazing hands! Sweet jam guys!
Three people who know what they are making. Magic!
That was AWESOME @!!!
Thanks for posting this! 🎉
All these guys are seriously talented and fluid improvisors. Yeah! The art of having fun.
Ariel was able to incorporate many chords within his lead playing which is why it sounded unique- I loved all the players here
CADS l was thinking the same thing about his playing, something I personally struggle with. #goals
HOT DANG! Loved every second of this!
These three are keepin it alive and real. Nice fellas.

Thank you so much...brillant.
very inspirational playing all around.
No to take anything from Kirk or Ariel, but If I were those guys I'd be afraid to go after Josh, what a monster
yea all three were amazing and original, but Josh shesh😂
@@propmaster101
Yes, in a league of his own
It’s clearly not a competition & each player has their own style, flair & phrasing. Also Ariel is a phenomenal song writer & vocalist & Kirk is a great producer.
It is just pure joy.......
