I’ve seen several videos with these dudes together and If you noticed when josh goes to solo the groove completely drops out! Moral of the story is that Josh is the best Rhythm guitarist around!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of playing 2 dumble amps. I wish I had the skills I have now to really put it through the paces and experience everything it had to offer but Ill never forget that clean tone with sizzle. So friggin dynamic it's disqusting! I was literally 2 years into guitar after drumming for years but I always remembered that tone that guys who played dumbles had. Way b4 I even knew why it was so great. Lol

Matt's got the magic touch. You can't teach it or learn it. Never heard anyone get such a sweet tone out of a Strat. Josh's tone was like icepicks in my ears after that.

Why all the weird faces, you suck dude. If you need to look like a spazz you had better play well. I hate it when people so "white" try to play blues. It's nothing but fast rock and is disrespectful to us blues players...

Ball hog Schofield... c’mon dude really, Josh only needed two minutes to say enough. Matt’s playing is very monotone and too long. Sounded like the same lick over and over. Started out good, but enough is enough when you’re not saying anything anymore. I started to get anxiety when he wasn’t handing the ball over Josh always great and never too long.

also allowing josh 1/8th of solo time isn't even fair.. hes far too talented to be shut down like that. shameful.

Faster isn't always better kids. play up and down note after note.. notes that dont fit and its cool but it doesn't show emotion.. watch the feeling and feel the sound of joshs playing compared to matts... yeah.. different emotional approach. both great but better to use phrasing for emotional rather than shred through notes.. imo.

Dumble and most decent blues players can coax those amps... I built 3 a 50 and two 100s skyline eq is my fave. HRM is OK Larry Carlton and Robben Ford built a lifetime career on this tone. It's their signature. Beautiful amps but, at the end of the day you still sound like yourself.

Both technically brilliant musicians, but Matt was talking to himself and Josh was talking to me.

Matt's tone really speaks volumes about his approach.

Josh Smith would be famous if he would just make faces. Millennials can't tell how good a player is unless they see those wild ass BB King gestures. Shoot, they even mistakenly think John Mayer is a great guitarist because he can fake his expressions so well.

Is it just me or does Schofield always play like 36 bars too long when he dual solos with Josh... I mean yeah he's amazing but he's no Josh Smith I wish it was reversed but Josh just seems like too laid-back and cool...

Great playing by these two, as usual. Too bad another moment sullied by the horrible automatic compressor on the video camera.
