Hello Jade I'm new to your channel , thank you for taking the time to share I really appreciate you. As a black woman I get frustrating sometimes with my hair. You really have to take time to learn what you need for your hair. The right products, the right tools, the right procedures, etc. It takes time but you have to know your hair. And if your hair is damaged it takes awhile for your hair to heal. It took me about a year to get my hair back into a healthy state. Thank you once again Jade and Happy New Year.❤
The aphogee protein treatment is OG dude I SWEAR by it. I had the worst heat damage all throughout high school and aphogee basically brought my curls back from basically straight. I tell ppl about it all the time to this DAY.
I have pin straight hair and I am going to go out and buy some rollers today. I know this was aimed at people with textured hair but this is so helpful! I'm excited for this.
I feel like the same process would apply. Another important thing to stress is how you maintain it at night. I've had beautiful roller set, but the minute I've fallen asleep on them without doing anything, my set was ruined. I recommend pin curling them before you go to bed to keep the shape of the curls and covering your head with a satin bonnet/scarf. Unravel them all in the morning, give it a little shake, and you're done.
This reminds me of when I used to go to a salon as a teen and she would do my roller sets so good I looked like I had a fresh relaxer. I pray I can achieve the same results😂
@@JadeGodboltas for pins, what about the old school plastic pins? Your texture lends itself to what you're doing. I have that blow dryer and my texture will never come out that straight. I have a lot of hair and if I gotta set it and then blow-dry and flat iron 😢 that's to much work.
Roller sets are also perfect for stretching your hair and before a quick silk press since your roots will already be practically flat. It’s also essential to use a product directly on the ends and papers to control the frizz. Yours came out beautifully!
Girl MEM-OR-IES! I used to roller wrap my hair ALLLLLLLL THE TIME!! I had a relaxer back then but still loved it & have done it as a Natural too. LOVE itb👍🏾🤩 I've always used Lottabody 🙌🏾🥰🙏🏾♥️👑🤺 Thanks for the vid, I've been waiting on it!
Yessss the hair is giving me Life and memories of cute roller sets. I roll my hair at night and wash and press it biweekly. I'm not doing my roller sets until i get my new hair dryer since my hair is so thick it'll take a decade to dry 🤣 🤣. Now that i've went back to my straight hair i Luv this and my stretched bantu knot curls. This is another hairstyle for me to add to my straight hair collection 👍🏾👍🏾. STAY SAFE. GOD BLESS 🙏🏾 🙏🏾.
I very seldom straighten my hair. Maybe once a year if that. And every year I’m never in love with it. But your method really gives you beautiful results! Makes me want to try it out
Those rollers you can get them at Sally's Beauty supplies store I'm a Cosmetologist and that's where they sell them I've had Mines for over 20 years now and I recently bought some for a former client of Mines that got her Cosmetologist license recently ❤ I'm so proud of her
@@s.c.. Okay I’m back with the report. A lot of texture. Now I didn’t use a blowout brush like she did. I wanna buy one and try this again but I doubt that it will get it smooth. I think you will still need a straightening iron to achieve this style as smooth as she has it buuuut, I will come back one more time to update you on how this turns out with the blowout brush.
We have the same hai texture. Your hair is FLY. I will be trying that cut. My hair is too long. My husband loves long hair. I think this will be the length for me. Thanks for the hair tips in regards to a good blow out 😊💫
Your hair looks great. I’m 77 yrs. old. I used to roller set my hair for decades when I had a relaxer. I’m looking to see if my hair will look straight if I roller set it now that it is natural. My hair has gotten thin. Flat ironing makes it too straight so the curl doesn’t last. I’m trying to find a beautician that does roller sets in the Dallas area.
Rollersets still work well on my natural hair and they did when I was relaxed. The only difference now being natural is that I have to incorporate using flat iron after the roller set. Once my hair is dried, after I take out the rollers I wrap my hair while my hair is somewhat still warm from the hooded dryer. Once my flat iron is hot, I section my hair in small sections and do one pass with the flat iron then proceed to wrap my hair again with a shine finishing spray or a serum. The type of rollers used are key to minimize the use of direct heat on your roots. I find the tension rollers used in this video the best.
Sure! Here’s the flat ironing link bit.ly/4egISjb and blow out brush rstyle.me/+cTnwpjy6TnDZHOWSbyhwEA Also linked them in the description box in case you can’t click those!
Talk that talk the Aphogee 2 step is an Old school G.O.A.T it bought my hair back when Olaplex could NOT after a Dominican blow out gave me heat damage I used it every three weeks for theee months all the other weeks was a Deep protein free moisturizing conditioner with heat or under the steamer I though I lost my curls PS I’m surprised Keracare wasn’t in your Top Foams
Hi absolutely beautiful! Question.. When you do the one pass with the flat iron, are you doing that to all of the sections & placing the roller back on after?
Your results are gorgeous. Did you only use the flat iron on the secrions you blow dried or on your entire head then re-rolled each to hold/set the curl? Thanks for taking the time to film this for us. You're amazing 🩷
Thank you! And I did the one pass with the flat iron on my whole head and rolled the sections back up with the rollers :) only used the blow dry brush on the sections that weren’t 100% dry!
Beautiful. Your first roller was in center, but when you removed later it seems like it was parted down the center when you started removing. Did your hair just fall that way? I ask bc my stubborn hair will fight to lay the direction it was rolled.
Thank you!!! But what about the WOW?? 😱 😬 I bought that (and ALL of the other products and rollers you mentioned lol) when you first posted this blowout on IG. I've been waiting for your tutorial to know how everything fits in the process. I'm good with everything now thanks to this tutorial...EXCEPT the WOW. Appreciate your additional guidance and you taking time out of your busy mom schedule! ♥️
I’m literally got up to check and see if that was my baby in the background lol I didn’t realize the baby was in the video until the words came up on the screen😂
I know this may sound silly but HOW to you properly place the pins? I have tried a few times and they never stayed.. they were loose not firmly in place. What am I doing wrong? Can you do a vid on proper pin placement. You probably never thought that many of us ladies have tried AND FAILED. Please do a vid on proper pin/clip placement? Can metal clips go under a hooded dryer? Would it burn my scalp? Lol.. 🤷🏽♀️
I have to dry rolller set my hair or I just sendup using more heat trying to get my natural hair right so to avoid extra heat I just put the hair product in while wet then blow dry and immediately flat iron/ curling and while im doing that I roll it lol hope I helped someone out there❤
Your is beautiful ever when it is wet or dry . The only way my hair looked like your was when I had a perm. I no longer have a perm . I my hair is kinky, therefore my beauticians wash, conditions, blow dry, the she uses the flat iron to curl. My hair doesn’t bounce anymore. Ok😊
Way less tension and direct heat on the hair! For a quicker process - blow drying & flat ironing is a go. BUT you are trading time for health. When you do a roller set, 1) you don’t HAVE to flat iron. I choose to because of what I want my end result to look like. 2) the heat from a hooded dryer is more evenly distributed and gentle on our curls and coils. 3) blow drying itself isn’t terrible, it’s the combination of having to pull your hair over and over to create tension for smoothing the hair out (plus usually on a high heat setting) and then high heat on the flat iron with multiple passes to get your hair silk’ed out. Beautiful & quicker results, yes! I love a good silk press! But My roller set process only uses minimal heat (360 degrees on flat iron which is considered safe) and one pass on the flat iron. Roller setting is a longer process but healthier option. Hope that helps!
Glad to see people are enjoying a decades old routine again.
Let’s bring back these type of tutorials with the OGs please!!!
Yesssssss!

All I use for a roller set is kerastase leave-in (also a heat peotectant) and lotta body. I get good results.

The tension rollers? I went to Sally’s last week and was told they don’t carry them, just the magnetic rollers. 😩 I really want some.
Literal perfection👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
