Let this be the new standard on animal keeping! No more 'minimum size' as you see in most (American) YT care videos, but instead 'make it as big and glorious as you can'. 10/10 would watch!
For most reptiles? Yes. Tarantulas? I'm pretty sure tarantulas are so dumb that they really don't notice a difference.
Your golden pothos was also growing larger at the back because the aerial roots we’re growing into the wall. When the leaves have more support they will get larger. They get enormous in the wild, much bigger then dinner plates.
You truly love your spiders - the amount of time and care you give to them and taking their personalities into consideration ... I love your channel.
Nice enclosure for Bella…She’s so adorable 🥰
Love the Skull 💀
🕷️🕷️
Very cool enclosure! Can’t say I’ve seen any UA-camr attempt to keep a T in an enclosure of this size! Please update regularly!
I'm new to the trantula world but I find myself falling more in love with them after every video I don't even own one but they are stunning there hasn't been one breed I haven't loved ❤️❤️❤️
I do love what you do with your enclosures. I wish you could film a boring tour with no real action and no need for narration. I know you can't because the silly UA-cam Algorithm would hit you hard. You really have some great stuff. Maybe another channel "Dark Den's lost files" where you just post and no need to worry about hitting your main channel. I'm full of ideas but implemtion is not my thing.
Love your enthusiasm when making your videos, keep them coming...
Wow Bella is gonna be living the life in that enclosure!
As beautiful as this enclosure is, and as excited as I am to see how it does, be careful about using cow isopods in there! They're a species that requiere a higher protein intake than other isopod species, and I know some people who have had issues with them nibbling on the residents of enclosures, especially slow moving animals (such as chameleons, or molting tarantulas)
The best tip I have is to sometimes put a tiny bit of meat in a corner so they can nibble on it and get enough proteins owo)b
Thai so true ! I had issues with them and my horned frog ! I feed them meat now too and it seems to work
I feed them with dead roaches all the time :D
@@TheDarkDen I’m glad to hear that you’re aware of their carnivorous tendencies! Thank you for the reassurance :D
a decent amount of broken cuttlefish also seems to keep them busy
It's an awesome home for Bella 🥰 You could see she was very busy decorating, and she had a wander around but always came back to her hide. I think she is the luckiest T having her own beautiful forest to live in. Greetings from 🇬🇧
Ps...when are you getting more enclosure clips in for the new enclosures...I need to order some 👍
Hopefully in a week!
@@TheDarkDen Thanks Petko x
Pothos can be huuuge in the wild, and easily reach a meter or more. But under terrarium conditions it'll stay "relatively small" for such a giant plant. Heck, my small 30x30x45 cm terrarium produces so much pothos I can make a potted plant from it once every month just by pruning it.
Whoo more Ken Ashcorp! Big fan!
Did I miss the Not smart part? This was awesome and I really love that enclosure for fatso. Maybe you can put some frogs in too at some point if you can get the species who cohab with T's or some other arborial lizards. Some mourning geckos would be cool in there and if she got one it wouldn't be a big deal since they breed so easily.
It is not smart to have tall enclosure for terrestrial tarantula in case she climbs and falls...especially as she settles!
@@TheDarkDen yeah I know what you mean and I've read that one for a long time but I think she'll be fine since she wouldn't have anything stopping her climbing in the wild if she wanted. This looks amazing to me and I'll be really interested to see how it progresses 👏
Got to hand it to to skull people. Beautiful work from them. Love your channel. Greetings from Dimboola, in Victoria, Australia.
So nice enclosure. And the photos plant is easy to trim and propegate. When they grow upwards, the leafs gets bigger. Always enjoy your videos. Beautiful Dark Den. Inspirational.
In regards to the title: why is it, that wasn't smart? 😅
This actually can become only enclousure that houses two completly different tarantula species!
Can't wait for the next time we see Bella :)
Love the idea of the huge enclosure with a terrestrial and arboreal species together, but why not go all the way and throw in a fossorial species, too? Build up the substrate in one of the corners and get a trap door spider!!
I think cause a terrestrial and fossorial would be to close to each other because terrestrials burrow as well and fossorials would also come out of theyre burrow but i think it could be possible if you can some how for them to make an burrow/hide at opposite sides of the enclosure
🕷PETKOV🕷 so I just started watching you a few months back. And lately I find myself walking around randomly saying " BRACHYPELMA" ??!! And I'm like what is this word, and where the heck did it come from?! Finally it came to me .......The Dark Den -- Of course (spooders), spiders !! Creepy crawlies and other multi-legged critters 🖤 seems you have managed to burrow your way into my deepest thoughts Petkov 😅 I really have learned so much watching your channel. Thank you Best wishes to you and your very very large family ✌💜🙃
ps: such a super super super cool enclosure for Bella, if only they could be communal that would be awesome to have all 3 ladies in there!
YES! The double massive communal enclosure would be AWESOME!
I have officially watched every dark den video ever :DD
That's a rock star enclosure. Love the disco skull.
That is so weird, a few days ago I lost my dog, her name was Bella, I missed your last upload so that kinda hit me hard but in a good way, kinda feels cool to know you have gotten a spider called Bella right as I lost her
You should get a dog and name it The Dark Den so you remember again😅
have you found your dog?
Love the skull 💀 love Bella’s enclosure!
My P. Metallica sling is growing!
Your channel is awesome bro
I would love one of them skulls, the first time I seen one on your channel I loved it, this new one is also very nice. They are way out of my price range but maybe one day, beautiful pieces.
Love the big spider in a HUUGE enclosure
that enclosure is badass
Really amazing video Petko, thanks man!!! 🕷🕷🕷🕸🕸🕸😁
That is a pretty nice skull you have there!
And the two cow skulls are also neat. 😂
Bella's enclosure is the Best! Love it!
This is insanely cool, awesome job!
I'm very happy things worked out Petco! very nice enclosure! MUCH love from South Africa!
So happy i found your channel again! Made sure to sub this time xD
Hello great video information Petko
Arboreal and terrestrial trauntula idea is great! I'd love to see it.
What an absolutely amazing enclosure! That is one very spoiled (and rightfully so) tarantula! =D I wasn't the biggest fan of the new musical interludes though lol
Awesome Video dark den
Thank you! I needed your plants and spiders today 🥳🕷️🕸️🌿🪴
FANTASTIC video!!!!
You should look into emerald tree skinks as an alternative species for that amazing vivarium :)
Great video Petko
Omg lol that skull is the most Texas thing I have ever seen 🤣 it's awesome 😂
Great enclosure, hope Bella is happy and safe in there 🥰 kindest regards, Joanne 🐺
Looks awesome! Can't wait for the update on it :)
I'm so excited she dug in so quickly.
You should keep monocentropus balfori in that huge setup that would be an awesome communal
Now that's a really nice enclosure Petko!!! Great job😁. Tyfs God bless you
Don’t know if you would ever see this but it would be cool to see this cage have a live feed camera inside the cage since it’s so big. You could mute sound or cover it but would be sweet to be able to pop in and see what the T is doing at any hour.
Theraphosa apophysis - a species of spider from the tarantula infraorder and the tarantula family . Inhabits northern South America.
That skull is awesome. Going to check out that website. 👍👍👍
That is an incredible enclosure but I am just as scared as him about her falling from such a distance if she does decide to adventure a bit lol but it is quite a realistic enclosure thats for sure!
Now that she settles I'm almost 100% sure she will stay around her hide!
I know you said Future Petko will worry about the communal enclosure plan, but a terrestrial and an arboreal in the same enclosure.... Has that ever been done before? I know I would be too concerned to mix them together in case one would end up as the other's toothpick (Or fangpick, in this case. 😛)
Love your content, shot out from Brazilll🎉❤
The enclosure looks amazing, maybe could use a head strap for a gopro so you can use both hands. Keep up the videos and maybe can do a video of you showing all the enclosures
Great jungle enclosure 👍
Please be careful with the dairy cow isopods!! They are very ravenous and protein hungry and could be a potential threat to the precious Bella. I would hate to see her get harmed in her beautiful new house.
Sure she will just eat them if they annoy her to much
@@sstonedtoobitss1019 They multiple to fast, protein eaters & Ts are defenseless when malting .... Their just not the best to use as bio team ....
@@timothytierney8378 molting
Now that’s what you call a enclosure 🤩nice setup.keep the vids coming sir! Good stuff👍
The idea of having a communal tarantula colony in that enclosure is cool, but I don't know about having two different species in there. One communal may be arboreal and the other terrestrial but in actuality there's not much space separating the two groups and terrestrial tarantulas do climb.
the editing in time with the music XD when yu cut the branches
Whoa! Heck yes! Very cool idea indeed.
Huge home for a huge girl. I guess she will feel comfortable in there. And good luck with Bonita's molt. Cute how she webbed up her hide.
Her new enclosure is like the Ritz hotel for tarantulas ❤️
Love to see your hard work! Looks so cool, and like a critter paradise.
Wow, those skulls look so amazing! 😯
Wow Bella got a huge cage. Can you Believe It cannot wait to see what she does love this dark den epic video love Bella thanks so very much..
Aphonopelma Seemani is the mystery T. from the last episode I think petko
Should have used that bigger tank for a scorpian desert scape, but I guess if you dont dig scorpions then it looks awesome as is.
This was the best!
Awsome video!
More big enclosures plz.
I was just thinking about that the other day if you could put more than one communal species in together I say do it I'd like to see that video
Great video
Great video ! :) I would love to see there ephebopus cyanognathus. Maybe there are arboreal.
Nice job
Looks sooooo good! Love your channel it was an inspiration to start mine!
She Is a BEAUTIFUL Tarantula!!!!!❤❤🕷🕷❤❤
Hello, love your content. One question: will she not fall? She is pretty thick lady and not as agile
Song at 6:35 is "Ken Ashcorp - I'm Your Slave" for anyone who's interested :)
What a palace! Bella is a lucky gal
The videogame Grounded should make a dlc map that is this tarantula enclousure, It just looks so nice!! Espically if you were small and this looked lifesize.
I don't know about mixed species communal tarantula enclosure, but IMO the best and safest species would be Socotra island blue baboon tarantula (Monocentropus balfouri). This species are fair less likely to eat each other (both adult and young) and as they breed and grow in numbers, they will brake into cluster groups and use all the enclosure at different levels, and you already have a starter group, just need to add new males now and then.
That skull is the coolest thing I've ever seen! Alas, I am very poor, lol.
Same, absolutely beautiful piece but I'm broker than broke lol!
13:05 ayo my dude you listen to Ken?
You should turn that very big enclosure into a P Metallica communal enclosure. That would look so cool.
You should put the larger skull above the tank behind you!
Epic! ❤🕷️
Really fitting for such a big spider, and I think the height will be alright.
Beautiful now I want one for a arboreal!!!
1:30 WACKEN !!!! 🤣
Grüße aus Deutschland
Awesome enclosure for a Awesome spider.
Id thought he'd get some kind of medium size lizards for that
I think that was the original plan, but thr species he want was hard to find, and very expensive, I recall he posted a video about someone trying to scam him on it also.
@@Duilin225 It was the plan. He was planning on putting a green tree monitor in there and yes someone was trying to scam him. If I remember right the price wasn't so much an issue as the availability. I'm still hoping that changes and he can find one by the time he's done with the paludarium.
Wow the size of that 😮
Petco “sand bae”
You sure know how to treat your ladies Petkov
Fall height , fall height, fall height . !!!
My mum would send me to church if I got one, if you know then you know but I love it that skull!!!
Guess the UA-cam business is good, just looked at the prices of the skull stuff !!!!!.....I need to start a channel.
Wild pothos can reach heights of over 20 meters and their leaves can be 1m long. Most of the domestic plants you see are just underdeveloped, that's it
