THANK YOU FOR EXPLAINING HOW YOU CLEAN YOUR TANK GLASS!! I just started keeping terrariums and i love watching videos on making them, but nobody else ive watched has explained their glass cleaning teqniques yet lol
I’ll honestly watch this video around a dozen times. Before Tinley park was interested in dart frogs. Now after the fact I want to add some in the future. This will be very helpful thank you.
Fuego!! Ha Great looking build! I want to do something like this however i want mine to be more bioactive with springtails and isopods. So maybe no sponge on the bottom? Drainage layer, eco earth and leaf litter perhaps. What do you think? Love your tank!!!
I just got my cork background, its gorgeous & no i didn't even pay attention to the shipping price. Wow, Etsy gets you on that. But it fits my tank perfectly so no cutting or measuring. But im also using the sponge for the drainage area too. But i caught a American green tree frog, im gonna try to see if i can keep him & the plants alive b4 i go big. Lol im in tx so everything is bigger here, so are all my bearded dragons . Haha so im completely new to frogs.
@@KonaLatner glad it went smoothly besides the shipping price. I’ve never ordered from Etsy before so I didn’t know they get you on shipping. That’s a smart idea, start with something easy, get that dialed in and then get the animals you are really looking to keep.
@@MikeTytula Etsy is amazing, u should really check it out, the background came from the UK so that's why, but I couldn't find it any where else. But it was worth the price it's gorgeous. And yeah can't go wrong with trying something free from outside. 😉
Cool Vivarium, appreciate seeing this step by step ( FUEGO ). Also have you thought about making one that's bioactive? Like a drainage layer then a more natural substrate with a clean up crew? (Isopods & Springtails)
Mannnn so glad I came across this your the first person I seen use cork bark sheets definitely the route I plan on going now instead of having to spread silicone over everything then packing coconut fiber on top… F’ing Fuego bro 🔥🔥🔥👍👌
Totally educated me and what an absolutely beautiful piece of living art you created! Completely on fuego and the frogs, which are striking btw, I’m sure are loving it. Gonna go check out some of your other vids, thanks for making this one, I really, really enjoyed it you did a fantastic job!
Sorry, I missed the name of the plant at 5:45 and couldnt find it while googling the names in the description, could you name it? It looks beautiful and the color pattern is just something else! I love the vertical stripes!
beautiful build mike.. im a new subscriber and new to the reptile hobby. absolutely love your videos and appreciate the in-depth approach you take in your content. i see the passion, and it keeps me watching your videos and getting inspiration. keep up the great work!
That is fantastic to hear! Welcome to the hobby! I take pride in going deeper with my videos, not as sensational as many, but I feel like there is a lot less value in the sensational stuff
Fuego...lol I have been watching a TON of videos as I am about to upgrade my Snowflake tree frog enclosure. I decided I needed a dedicated fountain/stream for my boys as they have been chilling in their existing fountain and cause all the water to drain out. I'm taking on a 36"x18"x36" Exo Terra Paludarium. I'm so excited and nervous. One thing that I am seeing is when people use the spray foam all over the back and sides, how to cover that up so that is not what you see from the sides. Mine is in an open area so I need the sides to be as pretty as the back wall.
I wish I had used cork instead of drylok and foam. It looks incredible. I loooove it. Yes, please stream on yt. One tip, for future reference, would be to soak the dry wood for a couple of days in the bathtub, to get it nice and water logged. I assume using tap water with dechlorinator added would be ok. I imagine it will take it quite a while to fully absorb moisture in the tank. Idk, maybe not. It looks spectacular, fr. Can't wait to see the update. Fuego. That's actually a great pet name. I like Enfuego as a name, pronounced ahn fuego
Looks awesome Mike. Where did you get those cork panels from? I haven't seen them before? I also haven't seen the filter media substrate method which looks great once carved and covered in substrate
Thanks Greg! There is a company in BC that sells the cork although cant remember the name right now! I get it from a place locally. Really happy with how the filter media turned out, but damn it ain't cheap haha
This build and your froggies are FUEGO!! How do you keep your glass so clean on all your tanks?!?! I have a Paludarium that I can never keep the front glass clean no matter what I do.
Glad you enjoyed the build! This one was a lot of fun! The next one will be even better though! I just maintain the glass, typically cleaning it once a month or so for the reptile room tours. Thankfully inbetween it doesn't get overly dirty in most of my tanks.
Im just now thinking of building a large tank for some bumble bee frogs I hope to find next month at the reptile show in Lodi California. I hope my tank will be at least nice enough to show my friends😂. Where do you buy the cork bark you glued on the walls?
Gorgeous build and frogs! One question, how does the cork panel background deal with humidity? Doesn't it rot? I'm thinking of doing it myself following your steps!
Excellent build. Already doing lots of my vivs this way but picked up some tips on fire or should I say Fuego? Very nicely done! Been watching your channel for about a decade
Awesome build. I'm getting ready to start a build. I eas going to use sprayfoam and drylock. I think I might change to the cork bark panels. Where did you get the panels?
Dumb question, but how far up do you cut your cork bark from the bottom 4 inches or 3 1/2? I was going to put about 3 inches of water so figured id do 3 1/2?
Any videos showing the updated vivarium? Really curious to see how you covered the sub stratum. Replicating a tank like this in a couple days and was hoping to see more of the ground layer.
This looks incredible mate! One random question asI am only just starting to research into this 'hobby' and notice alot of people make their backgrounds in one way or another. How do the background and side panels look from the outside of the vivarium? Do you do anything to try and hide where the cork has been siliconed to the glass?
FUEGO! Amazing build. Okay newbie question here - is spray foam just not a great option long term? I feel like lots of experienced vivarium builders don’t use it as the whole background
I can't speak for everyone else, but I know the reason I limit my spray foam use is because of the lack of silicones ability to retain the substrate pressed into it long term. At first the silicone adheres to the background mixes well, but over time the substrate is brushed off fairly easily, making the enclosure look incomplete. Another reason is I find plants don't do as well on the silicone vs things like the cork bark used in this build. Hopefully that makes sense! Feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

Working on the second one now! Hahah
This is so beautiful! Poison darts are such beautiful lil guys and learning more about their homes is so fun! Fuego video ✨
Thanks for watching! Part of why I love them so much is because of the habitats you can setup for them!
I am loving the way you did the cork on this background. i've seen a lot of videos on backgrounds and I'm diggin' this one the mostest….
Thanks so much! This is by far my favourite as well.
@@MikeTytula I am trying to find compressed cork that is think like the one you used but I cannot seem to find a source. Suggestions?

Beautiful build and plants and FUEGO frogs

There is still springtails in this build, they help feed the froglets. you can definitely go with no filter foam though.
Incredible build! I just got my very first dart frogs, two little tinc azureus froglets
Oops! Fuego haha
Thanks for watching all the way through! And this setup would work for azureus as well :)

Cool Vivarium, appreciate seeing this step by step ( FUEGO ). Also have you thought about making one that's bioactive? Like a drainage layer then a more natural substrate with a clean up crew? (Isopods & Springtails)
There was definitely springtails and such in this one. I will actually be doing that today on a livestream of me playing the twin to this one!

They only sell wholesale quantities, if you are interested in individual panels shoot me a message on IG and I can sell you a couple.

2:22 could you please share the name of this material? (Cork?) because maybe its not available in Vietnam, we just use foam for making the wall
Basically just cork insulation!
Ok you convinced me. Gonna have to try cork bark background on my next tank
It’s well worth it!!
May have missed it, but why no mesh filter layer in between the foam and the Substratum balls?
No real need for it tbh
Looks great Mike, I think you sold me on working with a cork panel hardscape background! Fuego

Definitely not a complete substrate but something we are messing with to find other applications for.
