    As a person who works on fixing up homes I advise you to leave the door open and put a Fan on that spot where the water leaked to help dry the wood if not you may get possible Black mood just something you might not know, anytime you have a leak and water leaks on wood you have to ensure its dried correctly.
    Great video as normal. My opinion on the lights might still be little to bright most jungle areas have gaps of light due to the dense tail trees but I really like the look you have done with the Tree stump.

    Petra... when bromiliads have babies, the mother plant dies. Also when leaves turn yellow, it means over watering or too much moisture, not too much light. Just a few plant tips for you! ❤❤❤

      How long after making pups will the mother die? I keep reading that, my bromeliad has been making pups for over a year, still looking healthy. I'm hoping it doesn't sie

    • @sandywalter9728
      @sandywalter9728 Рік тому +1

      @ashton6612 The mother usually gets brown and shrivels, and you trim it out close to the base... but if it still looks healthy, there is no harm in leaving her there. You can dig and move the babies if you'd like.

      @sandywalter9728 I've already cut the pups off and they're growing on their own. The mother is attached to a chunk of cork in my crestie enclosure. So far it is healthy, but I've got more bromeliads if she does die I guess lol

    I fully intend to build a Junglearium of my own someday ;)
    also, the yellowing of some leaves might be a case of acclimation die-off, the plants simply adjusting to the new conditions in this new environment :) As for the Isopods, perhaps keep the colonies seperate for a time and focus on letting them grow their population in a smaller enclosure first before introducing them to the Junglearium :)

    That leaf that broke off. You can try to get it to root as a cutting. Put it in water hopefully it will develop roots.
    You can cut leaves and root them the same way then you can put them else ware. Possibly find some flowering plants to add.

    Love how this monster junglearium is coming together Petko! Wanted to give a tip, since you have so many enclosures with plants in the den. You could take propagations from plants within your enclosures to help fill the vivarium without having to buy more plants. Plus that will get some trimming down if you have an overgrown enclosures. I do this a lot with my pothos plants I have in enclosures, and have so many individual plants now I can use in other enclosures. Can’t wait for the next junglearium video!

    i remember seeing someone making a somewhat similar tank for their hermit crabs with a large land area and basically just an aquarium put into there with the intention of it being big enough to put some marine hermits in
    i was interested in doing something similar for mine and asked him about how it was going
    turns out the land crabs kept dumping substrate into the marine section and it would mess up the water quality super quick
    im not sure what youre planning to put in the entire enclosure or the actual aquarium but yea i can see the water section getting substrate pretty easily dumped into there and end up blocking the filter and destroying the water quality
    that section close to the water area might be really cool to put some carnivorous plants in there

    The plant you had to cut the leafs from + the other plants that look unhealthy could be a Thrips infestation instead of a lighting problem. (Brown spots, holes in leafs, yellowing, ...) These insects are very small and hard to detect, but can do a lot of damage.
    I'm currently fighting my own war with these atm. Good luck!

    • @DoNE021
      @DoNE021 Рік тому

      Think something like that to. Or its lack of nitrate if its larger spot of the leaf's,
      but if he had them bugs earlier it most likely them that cause the spots. Hard to get rid of this tiny bugs.
      Only take some to survive or eggs and they will be back.
      probably need to take the whole plant out and some dirt around the plant, when first see them bugs.
      Should grow each new plants separately for 2-3weeks, before put them in along other.
      To make shore they are healthy.
      And treat them with some kind of somewhat friendly pesticid first week of those 2-3week.
      Let the pesticide go away before put the plant in there. so it don't damage or hurt animal inside there.
      There are some good handheld USB microscope or regular microscope that wont need a computer.
      That can be good to have to spot them and see what it is.

    Big advice for the plants: Spider plant! (Scientific name: Chlorophytum comosum) It grows like weed, stores a lot of water in its fleshy roots, and do well in ANY light setting. You just cannot kill it. And it spreads like crazy once it blooms. It grows a lot of pups fro. Its flower stalk. You'll have to trim the flower stalks though, otherwise it will become a hell of a mess... 😅

    Hello dear Dark Den!
    I want to give you a few tips about the isopods. First of all: I've been breeding Isopods for about 8 years, in many different setups, because I just want to learn a lot about these animals. Unfortunately, the isopods you added were already dead when you added them. The different species of isopods you had were very active. They explore the whole setup before deciding where to stay. That's why the spiders were able to capture a lot of isopods. The spiders themselves have been the smallest problem, the size of the terrarium is the problem. A small group of a single species of isopods must be at least 50+ individuals for the size of your terrarium. Otherwise the animals will not have a chance to implement in this setup. The problem here would have been that they would have eaten your plants and the moss immediately. So the question is how do you add these little cuties without them nibbling at your plants or dying due to the setup being too big... (they like to eat the roots of plants)
    There is one species which is very resistant to almost anything. The species is called "Porcellio laevis". These are available in many different colors and patterns. You can merge different colors with no problem and they multiply very well too!! In addition, this is the largest isopod species in existenten you can keep and buy. They mainly eat dead leaves and like to eat dead wood. So if you mix this into the soil, it will easily last for 2-3 years without having to mix in new leaves or dead wood. Since the isopods already have natural enemies (the orb spiders that are inside right now) they can't multiply too quickly either. So you can easily add a group of 30-35 animals IN ONE PLACE without them dying quickly. And the good thing is, because they reproduce so quickly, they're very inexpensive to get almost anywhere in the world.
    Very warm and happy greetings from Germany!

    It could be useful to use a light meter to get an idea of how powerful your lights are in different spots of the enclosure to help you get an idea of what plants to put where. I just use an app on my phone myself.
    Also, predatory mites are a possible solution to pest infestations if you get another outbreak (which I imagine is highly likely in an enclosure of this size with lots of plants), though you might have to restock your springtail population after the pests are gone.
