As an American, it is really important to see your videos. We know almost nothing about the Russian Federation and most of what we think is wrong. On this Thanksgiving Day, I’m thankful for you and your work.
The North Caucasus is not Russia, Russia has nothing to do with the cultural and historical heritage of the peoples that this parasitic colony holds in its predatory paws.
These north caucus regions on Eli's channel are the most informative and will go down in history as being her best work. So few independent UA-camrs venture into these regions so the information is sparse. Kudos to that wonderful cab driver that gave you a a hell of a tour of the entire region outside the city. Yes, though not entirely honest about Chechen violence only being in response to an act of offense or attack against them first in the present tense. As in other Muslim cultures, there is also a willingness to see this in a historical context--i.e., if such-and-such people _ever_ offended or attacked my people, then it is our right to retaliate or exact revenge, etc., when and where we choose. It was interesting to listen to Americans be completely mystified when Saddam Hussein would talk about events of a thousand years ago as if they were still relevant for being responded to in the present.
I am so glad you still posted about Ingushetia, even if your experience was unexpected. Russia is so diverse and amazing. Thank you for sharing your travels.

My family is from the appalachian mountains in the US. Often described as the poorest area in the country and backwards for keeping old traditions. I've heard many appalachians say they'd rather be poor at home in the mountains, than have some money somewhere else. We also always make sure the oldest has the best seat in the house and if there's only os many seats, whoever is the oldest gets them. The rest of us will stand or sit on the floor. Appalachia was pretty isolated until the 90s also when the internet came around and opened up the outside world to them. I brought my sister in law down to appalachia and she was so surprised by how nice strangers were and how accommodating, because people have a feeling they should stay out of appalachia because they might get shot for being an outsider. Lots of similarities here.
I'm black, and I've never had a problem with anyone from Appalachia. Friendly and incredibly competent. I truly believe that if you dropped a mountain man off on Mars and came back in a month, you'd find him with multiple stills and there'd be Martian moonshine waiting for you.

This is the first time I have heard of Ingushetia, but I feel so connected to these people because I come from Sandzak, a region in Serbia and Montenegro with Muslim minority that officials have gerrymandered and renamed, but where we had a somewhat similar destiny, culture and values. Unfortunately, we are turning more towards the comodities of modern times, which is good in many aspects, but we are also losing some of our best values. When I see how honorably these men are behaving it reminds me of my grandfather and his generation, staying united and proud of their culture. Wish you all the best good people! Also, thank you Eli for showing us that there is so much more in the world to see and explore, places we never knew exsisted.
No officials have renamed anything in Serbia and Montenegro. Except the Turkish who upon their conquest XV-XIX century imposed there Islam, pushed and awarded converts from Christianity and named the region in their language. You stick to that name, in spite of your obvious roots and different language origin. Cool down your fantasies, the present-day officials have more tolerance for your region and culture than anyone else in the world would ever have.
@@Emerald_City_ The Ottomans were here about 500 years and many generations ago, if religion was imposed on anyone, it wasn't me, and the name for my region I choose because of the tradition, but I guess you sitting a few hundred kilometres away and not knowing anything about my region, religion, tradition or family history would know better what I should believe in and how I should call my region, my town or myself, how we should arrange things in our life, where we should go to the doctor etc. You perfectly represent the government you elected, which I couldn't oppose because I belong to a minority, they further divided into small regions in order to manipulate the elections. But unlike them, you have no jurisdiction over anything, you are just an annoying fly whose buzzing is annoying but doesn't mean anything.
@@a.z.983 I am glad you wrote this! This is your true signature. No need for a name. You said quite a lot about yourself this way. But I hope you get some positive impulses and change to better. Why live in frustration? Before I leave you to your own thoughts, hopefully, know just this. The man to whom you refer as "an annoying fly" (b.t.w. who has taught you to refer to other people like that? ...certainly not your grandfather) lives among the Muslims, traveled throughout various Asian Islamic countries, had and still has good friends among them, bought and read Quran and was in the old mosque in Novi Pazar with your religious fathers probably long before you were even born... But you don't care, do you. Is that your tradition? Or is it the way you deal with the truth... not promising, young man! You wish all the best to Ingush people and the Russians; that's great! But wouldn't it be all the more desirable to have some more positive thoughts and intentions for your own neighbors, and your own country? Instead of calling people "flies"?
@@Emerald_City_ What you've written is exactly the burdening narrative imposed on us that we live with all our lives, and I can't respect that, no matter of your age. I don't think anyone would appreciate being told how they should feel about their religion, place of origin etc, so I see no reason for surprise as it is a normal human reaction and I don't think it says anything special about me. What you have done is mansplained me about things I have lived through and you have only visited, repeating false 'facts' I have been told all my life about myself at school and in the media, but had no say in any of it. What you've read and where you've been doesn't mean much if you haven't done it with an open heart. I'm not so young not to remember when the Serbs burned our mosques to take revenge on the Albanians for burning their churches, and we had absolutely nothing to do with it. Ans before and after that we were blamed for what the Ottomans did 500 years ago, even though I'm not an Ottoman Turk, and I'm not 500 years old. What I would apreciate more than you reading about Islam is to let us call ourselves as we want, decide about our religion based on our hearts, not on some assumptions why some of my 256 grandparents (7-9 generations ago) converted. The name of the region is important because it describes a culture with a common tradition and brotherhood, and the name ban is an attempt to erase our ties and traditions, and the division is a political game to tie us to other regions in an attempt to dilute their votes in elections.
@@a.z.983 I am not burdening you, your burden is what you carry on you, the decisions of your predecessors. I am perfectly fine with their and your choice as long as you don't twist the facts about the rest. I am just opposing you telling untrue things here - which you repeatedly state, to force us see you as a victim category - but in reality nobody is telling you how to call yourself, let alone what should be your religion. To the contrary. That's a nonsense and you know it. You live in a poor country with many problems, but it's still not that bad, and at least you have freedom as few people in other countries ever have. But you experience that as a weakness of the majority, so now even that's not good. The representatives of your region have been high positioned politicians in Serbia for decades far exceeding the normal quotes, but you come up with some invented stuff. That one single mosque was set to fire, not burned, was a *grave mistake* and a bad sign, but if you put it in the context... it's not a reason to keep whining for 20 years with all the benefits that you enjoy. And if you don't respect other culture, or even elder people like me, well, than it's telling a lot about you and your culture. How do you know what I do with my heart and what not? You don't, but you take freedom to say such things. If you can't love your neighbor and your country, at least respect them. Would be better for all.

In your prior video, I mentioned my culture shock on how marriage ceremonies are performed in other parts of the world, and I received some angry replies that my opinions were not welcome. However, the act of being shocked can’t be classified as an opinion but rather a human feeling that is unsolicited and unexpected. I think, in my quest to better understand the world and life in general, it is necessary to explore and try to understand how people operate within their own culture and environment. Only then will I become better educated and less ignorant. These vlogs lend themselves to the exploration. Thanks Eli!

Who is complete God?
Iyov 36:5 - Orthodox Jewish Bible (OJB)
See, El is Kabir, and despiseth, not any; He is Kabir in ko’ach lev (strength of understanding).
Translation: Supreme God is Kabir, but despises no one. He is Kabir, and firm in his purpose.
In all Bible translations, the word Kabir has been translated as "Mighty" or "Great" whereas Kabir is the original name of Supreme God.
Conclusion: This verse of the Bible proves that Kabir is Complete God. The one who worships God Kabir by taking initiation from the complete saint sent by him gets complete salvation. After attaining salvation that souls rest in peace in the eternal abode Satlok forever. The throne of God is in Satlok( ETERNAL PLACE) 😊😊
God Kabir met Jesus and took his soul to Satlok. On their way, God Kabir made him see his ancestors David, Moses, Abraham, etc. in the Pitra Lokas. Then God took him to Satlok😊😊

Hi from Ingushetia
I find the Caucasus mountains very fascinating - many various cultural groups with long histories. You met a good guide there to explain the Ingush mindset. Very interesting video and lovely drone shots of the countryside.

I would go somewhere else where people do not treat me that way.
And if this happened to me I wouldn't even waste my time on "reporting on these people to the world", I would simply pack my things, leave and never speak of this place again.

I was thinking the same thing !

I am of German Russian Ancestory. We call Galushka Dumplings, Knefla. It is one of my favorite dishes. Knefla is also made in a soup or stew.
do you make Bierocks (also called Runza), too?

In your prior video, I mentioned my culture shock on how marriage ceremonies are performed in other parts of the world, and I received some angry replies that my opinions were not welcome. However, the act of being shocked can’t be classified as an opinion but rather a human feeling that is unsolicited and unexpected. I think, in my quest to better understand the world and life in general, it is necessary to explore and try to understand how people operate within their own culture and environment. Only then will I become better educated and less ignorant. These vlogs lend themselves to the exploration. Thanks Eli!
Ingushetia is a part of RF. And according to the laws of RF kidnapping is a crime. So if a guy kidnaps a girl without her permission he could end up behind bars.
No reason to get cultural shock.
@@KrutoiPersonazh they will do it anyway and expect there will be no complaint cause the girl is ruined after. Many will continue to do it and get away with it.
Eli...Thank you for opening up new worlds to me. You do it very well.
Thank you for taking us along for another journey! You were able to capture some amazing landscape shots on this trip. Looking forward to your next video, Eli.
*Thank you so much for introducing us to some of the "Autonomous Republics" of Russia! I am studying the Russian language, primarily because of its literature (some of which I've published translations into English). Молодца!*
Before coming across your videos, I had no idea Russia was so diverse and, at places, downright exotic. I rather like the Ingush people's reverence for the elders.

not really. the huge majority is russian the rest are just extremly small minorities with not even 500k people.
So interesting. Thank you for showing us this. One day I hope that these areas will be somewhere that we can all experience. From a very fast growing fan of your work, in Adelaide, Australia, cheers.
Eli, thank you for the extraordinary lengths you go to make documentaries about cultures, people, and places. I feel happy because you take me on a journey from ignorance to a place where I can expand my appreciation the beauty of our world and the humanity of people everywhere.
An absolutely wonderful (and insightful) interview on the local culture.
Great documentary as always. Mister Ramazan seem like a very honourable and open-minded man. As a Serbian I have always admired people from the Causasus. I wish peace and prosperity to Ingushetia.
