    I think it's important to add that there are many ethnic "Asian looking" indigenous people(s) in Siberia and across Russia who are not foreigners, but who you may mistake as an outsider. Russia is not just comprised of European Russians and foreigners, we have dozens of native ethnicities. I hope you have an episode where you interact with more locals and see how diverse and rich our people are.

      Exactly for about 6 months i had some work in Irkutsk. City near Baikal. There so much different people ! Like people from Buryatia , or Yakutiya they look like they asian , all of them have indigenous background own religions , some have very unusual ones unusual ones, like believing that northern reindeer special spirit :) or city Elista , i was there in summer and i felt like i was in Thailand or Laos! People were Buddhists and just felt like far Asia.
      What's i find beautiful that all people with different backgrounds living together in harmony .
      Or take Ingushetia or Chechnya , there are arab type people .
      But its al logical because when countries is stretching by 9000 kilometers , obviously it would be populated with all types of people who have different backgrounds.

      While that is true, Vladivostok is an ethnically Russian/slavic city. Asian ethnicities make up less than 5% of Russia’s population.

    • @64hdr0m3d4rY
      @64hdr0m3d4rY Місяць тому +9

      @ I’m just trying to clear up the misconception between natives and foreigners. Less than 5% is a wild understatement and certainly not true considering how mixed everyone is across the nation - we are a Eurasian country after all

    • @glebsokolov2366
      @glebsokolov2366 Місяць тому +7

      @@64hdr0m3d4rY I understand why you did that, but it also does cause confusion. Russia is geographically Eurasian, but ethnically and culturally it is overwhelmingly European. Even if we count populated and very Asian regions like Buryatia and Tuva, which honestly should be part of Mongolia, Russia would still have over 95% ethnicities that are not Asian. If you consider Kavkaz (Chechnya, Dagestan) people Asian, then it would be a higher percentage of “Asians”.

    Absolutely fascinating video , wonderful to see Russia from an independent video maker . The food and the cakes looked amazing, lots of smiling faces from the staff . It was interesting information the young man told you , Russia is so big and vast that it takes 6 / 7 days to get to Moscow. It just shows that people are the same where ever you go in the world friendly and helpful. Interesting to see Russia through your eyes , here in the west we only get the mainstream Media view of Russia which is usually biased . A fascinating video once again your videos are always interesting informative and entertaining a really great job you have done looking forward to seeing the next video when you take the train

      Think France on a tropical island. It’s a beautiful place, very diverse, though quite expensive to live in because almost everything is imported.
      Most people come for the beautiful hikes on the volcanoes and whales watching. Not the best place for beaches, though, because of potential shark attacks.
      We are the most integrated EU overseas territory, which means that there is little difference with mainland France in terms of laws and infrastructures. We are a two hours flight away from Madagascar and 4 hours away from South Africa if one wants to hop on in between trips to mainland Africa and it’s more affordable to visit Africa from Reunion island than visiting Mainland France because of expensive flight fares.

I've been to many different cities and regions all over Russia, but Vladik has a special place in my heart. @@littlechineseeverywhere Yan i'm big fan of yours and want to correct an unintentional mistake you made in this video - at 6:35 you made it sound like Soviets kill all the Chinese people and foreigners in general in Vladivostok - that's not true. Soviets deported all the foreigners -that is a big difference. Chinese people were deported to China(mainly to Xinjiang, their descendants still live in China), Korean people were deported to Central Asia and many of them still live in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, some returned to Korea after 1991. I understand that Russia/ China history of relations was complicated but at the end Soviet army and people helped to liberate China from Japan(more than 12000 Soviet people died at that operation) , helped to end the Civil War,unite the country and establish modern Chinese State - PRC

They even made a Jewish province in far East Russia.

      To put that in perspective Darwin Australia is at 130°50′28″E and Brisbane Australia is at 153°01′41″E.
      And then you can go even further east to Anadyr in Chukotka at 177°31′E with a population of 13,043 which is further east than Auckland NZ at 174°45′55″E.
