Hello from Reunion island 🇷🇪 Thank you so much for taking us to cities we might never have seen otherwise. I could point to Vladivostok on a map, but I had no idea what it actually looked like! :)
Think France on a tropical island. It’s a beautiful place, very diverse, though quite expensive to live in because almost everything is imported. Most people come for the beautiful hikes on the volcanoes and whales watching. Not the best place for beaches, though, because of potential shark attacks. We are the most integrated EU overseas territory, which means that there is little difference with mainland France in terms of laws and infrastructures. We are a two hours flight away from Madagascar and 4 hours away from South Africa if one wants to hop on in between trips to mainland Africa and it’s more affordable to visit Africa from Reunion island than visiting Mainland France because of expensive flight fares.
@@ihikebc2295 Some people on the west coast of the island live in vans or tents on the beach but i wouldn’t recommend it. There are marauders and thieves at night.

I've been to many different cities and regions all over Russia, but Vladik has a special place in my heart. It's unfortunate that there's not too many job opportunities, salaries there are not so great and prices are too high, that is one of the reasons why I moved to Moscow.
@@littlechineseeverywhere Yan i'm big fan of yours and want to correct an unintentional mistake you made in this video - at 6:35 you made it sound like Soviets kill all the Chinese people and foreigners in general in Vladivostok - that's not true. Soviets deported all the foreigners -that is a big difference. Chinese people were deported to China(mainly to Xinjiang, their descendants still live in China), Korean people were deported to Central Asia and many of them still live in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, some returned to Korea after 1991. I understand that Russia/ China history of relations was complicated but at the end Soviet army and people helped to liberate China from Japan(more than 12000 Soviet people died at that operation) , helped to end the Civil War,unite the country and establish modern Chinese State - PRC
@@constant1989You're correct, once Japan invaded China, and made incursions into the USSR, their troops couldn't differentiate the different Asian background people well, so Stalin dispersed many East Asians to places like Kalmykia (west of the Northern Caspian Sea) where it looks like a Buddhist city. They even made a Jewish province in far East Russia.

Depends on your definition of “city” but Russia continues much further east. Vladivostok is at 131°53′7″E. Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is at 158°39′E with a population of 163,152 (although it used to have 273,000 in 1991). To put that in perspective Darwin Australia is at 130°50′28″E and Brisbane Australia is at 153°01′41″E. And then you can go even further east to Anadyr in Chukotka at 177°31′E with a population of 13,043 which is further east than Auckland NZ at 174°45′55″E.

@@angryblackman857 It takes a lot of time and money to travel to Vladivostok from western side of Russia. I, for example, as a student can't afford such trip tho I really want to visit Vladivostok
@@angryblackman857
Time + cost. Last time when I used plane in vacation for flight to the Irkutsk it cost me more then half of salary and my salary higher then average level (not official one).
@@angryblackman857 it's too far... I'm also from Moscow and I've never been to Vladivostok either. I have money to visit it, but I just don't have time for such a long trip. Plus, when I have a vacation, I prefer to spend it abroad, in Japan or China, for example. It's as far as Vladivostok, but at least it's abroad and feels more like a real adventure than visiting just another city in my country 😅
I definitely get more impressions from traveling abroad than in my own country (well, cause it’s my home and everything here is familiar). But I still want to visit the Russian Far East, the nature there is very beautiful
I've only just discovered your channel, and find it to be much more interesting than most travel channels. There is so little about China and Russia, so this makes a welcome change from all those videos about Europe, Europe and Europe ...
I feel the same!
Amazing video, Its amazing how people from different backgrounds and countries can then found common thing, it's what makes us human I guess, Hello From Somalia 🇸🇴

That was an eye-opener! Have known about Vladivostok all my life but have never seen a good picture of, not to mention a whole 18 minutes of very skillful and informative video reporting. Thank you so much, Yan.
Это, всего лишь центр города, для туристов. Небольшая часть.
A lot of video about Vladivostok.
Absolutely fascinating video , wonderful to see Russia from an independent video maker . The food and the cakes looked amazing, lots of smiling faces from the staff . It was interesting information the young man told you , Russia is so big and vast that it takes 6 / 7 days to get to Moscow. It just shows that people are the same where ever you go in the world friendly and helpful. Interesting to see Russia through your eyes , here in the west we only get the mainstream Media view of Russia which is usually biased . A fascinating video once again your videos are always interesting informative and entertaining a really great job you have done looking forward to seeing the next video when you take the train
Try to think out of the box, we are normal people, we are developing and we want peace.
Lovely video! Thanks!
Thank you 🥰
Thanks so much for the video. I had been leaving in Vladivostok for 20 years, still love and miss this city.

Hello from Reunion island 🇷🇪 Thank you so much for taking us to cities we might never have seen otherwise. I could point to Vladivostok on a map, but I had no idea what it actually looked like! :)
How's life on Reunion these days? I hear it's a good place to visit.
@@Quies8 thank you. Is backpacking (living in a tent) allowed, or is it frowned upon?
@@ihikebc2295 Some people on the west coast of the island live in vans or tents on the beach but i wouldn’t recommend it. There are marauders and thieves at night.
I like how you get to know the small details of everyday life from the people, and not just the big stuff everyone else knows or shows.
People like this lovely lady unite the world. Unite people and cultures. She should be paid by the UN to go around making people in these places feel happy and valued and us viewers as well!!
Very nice. Vladivostok looks pretty clean and the desserts look amazing. The trans-Siberian magistral is going to be epic if you go all the way to Moscow. Take as much footage as you can from the trip. Russia is beautiful.

It's a beautiful city. I love the look of Russian cities, including the brutalist soviet stuff. They have character. Some gorgeous architecture.
一直好奇这个地方 感谢带我云旅游❤
Great video! I was born and raised in Vladivostok, but for the last 5 years I've been living in Moscow, and Vladivostok is truely uniqe. I've been to many different cities and regions all over Russia, but Vladik has a special place in my heart. It's unfortunate that there's not too many job opportunities, salaries there are not so great and prices are too high, that is one of the reasons why I moved to Moscow.
Ohh woww!I loved this video about Vladisvostok ❤ thank you so so much. The city looks amazing. Looking forward to seeing the train trip x
The train trip was definitely an adventure! 😊
@@constant1989 In chinese subtitles is 清洗, which more accurate and meaning rather "cleaned from". I agree that's unintentional wording in english.

Thank you Yan for introducing your viewers to the eastern most city of Russia. Enjoyed watching. Waiting for your next video.
I came across your channel completely by accident, and content that you make is amazing! I was also very surprised that the hospital ship was named "Irtysh"(Иртыш) in honor of the river that flows in my city of Omsk😊 I live in Siberia and we also love Chinese guests very much. At my university, students even recorded audio guides for Chinese tourists and how volunteers greeted Chinese guests and showed them the city😌

Asia in Russia begins between the Ural Mountains even earlier than Chelyabinsk or Yekaterinburg! That is, about 6,000 km to Vladivostok in a straight line and about 7,350 km by road.
