ARE YOU KIDDINGG this literally looks like something you’d see in architectural digest magazine!! Macenna you never cease to amaze me in the things you do
so the turf is not my cup of tea at all, but can we take a moment to admire that you actually built the curve of the pool from scrap turf pieces 😮 wow, the dedication to detail 🙌🥺 glad to see you so happy with the pool area! Enjoy it!
GIRL, I WAS NOT REA-DY FOR THE @16:44 EDIT!! Like it’s so evident how much you enjoy editing, and what an expert you’ve become, but each new video you just raise the bar! Kudos!!!
Awwwww thank you so much!!! I do enjoy it so much!! Sometimes I think of cute transitions and I film them but they don’t work haha I’m so glad this one worked 💕
Personally I think tuft or faux grass always looks cheap and I would have used differently solution for my yard . But I love it that you are making your home your special space. Love the lights too, I might get the same ones!
Unpopular opinion apparently, but I agree with you. I'm especially not a fan of the cut outs. Strange to me, but as long as they like it... and Kinsley of course. I think some outdoor rugs could have done what she needed.
Hi MaCenna! Please, please, please read this message! From a pure design esthetic, everything looks absolutely lovely. I truly like what you have created. Will you please record a video of the pool area lighted at night so we can see how it looks with your new solar lamps? They’re perfect for the space! Love the umbrella by the loungers, too! As a dog parent myself, I offer you sincere words of advice… I urge you to do one of two things: 1. Always take Kinsley somewhere outside to potty in an area with natural grass. 2. Build Kinsley a fenced potty area with an impervious, washable liner and use real turf you can dispose of on a weekly basis. That way you can confine her waste to a specific area, in which she will grow accustomed to relieving herself. You’ll save the rest of the pool area for humans. We cannot let our 80-pound Rhodesian Ridgeback off leash, so we take him out first thing in the morning, 30 minutes after breakfast, mid-morning, noon, mid-afternoon, 30 minutes after supper, and before bed, at minimum. It’s intense, but it’s what we have to do to make sure he potties outside where we can bag and remove poo from the yard. On real grass, we’ve found flushing pee with a quart of water keeps the grass from browning. The smell of urine on other surfaces (concrete, brick, wood, & carpet) is impossible to remove fully, no matter how much they’re cleaned. If you don’t want to have regrets, please think about these suggestions. Best of luck to you and Romeo.
It is unfortunately not common that they walk their animals several times a day as in EU. I know some do, but it's few. They just let them out in the yard.
@@angei8668really?! that’s so sad but it makes sense since I’ve seen a lot of Americans with full time jobs having dogs and I always wondered how they do it
I agree. If you walk your dog often enough and train them they will not pee on brick. Mine goes out 4 times a day and that is enough for him. Really depends on the dog. Kinsley peeing all over the turf feels very unhygienic and it will make it discolour fast.
I found this new project and it's absolutely amazing! The freebeat Morph eBike is not only innovative but also environmentally friendly. I love how it can be charged indoors, perfect for those days when the weather isn't cooperating. The brushless 750W motor and 80Nm torque are impressive, providing an exhilarating riding experience. The 80mm front suspension and puncture-resistant fat tires ensure a smooth ride on any terrain. Plus, the Smart Saddle Detection+ feature is a game-changer, keeping you motivated and on track with your fitness goals. Can't wait to get my hands on one!
Wasn't sure in the beginning about the turf, but I'm sold, it looks fantastic. Love the cutouts. Yes, a fountain is needed!😊 The lantern lughts looks fabulous.❤
It's so good to see you living to your best life! I would never glue that down. It will stay where you put it without all that. And if you decide you want to take it out, it wouldn't be a nightmare to get up. But its your home so you get to do your own thing. Glue is a nightmare.
Looks good! You may want to install an electrically controlled pool cover. Just flick a switch, and it opens and closes. It protects the pool from debris, and you use less pool chemicals because of less UV exposure. The cover gets cleaned a few times a year with a cover cleaner.
Wonderful as usual. Please put some sand (play sand will be fine) in the bottom of your fire pit. It helps dissipate the heat from the burning logs, and your pit will last longer. And I know it usually doesn't rain often in SoCal (this year being an exception), but you'll want to get a cover for it too to ensure it lasts. Great job!
McCenna, it looks absolutely beautiful .I think instead of the cut-outs by the gate, a curved brick path would be more realistic and less of a tripping hazard/hassle to keep glued down.
We also have turf grass for our fur babies. Best investment EVER! Just a tip, when the turf starts smelling like urine (and it will no matter how much you power wash) just sprinkle baking soda over the area leaving it for a few hours and rinse off.
I was a teensy bit skeptical about that turf looking good, but boy, does it work!! It looks fabulous and so much cozier now. You have done another beautiful transformation of a space, MaCenna. Well done, girl! ♥♥♥P.S. Kinsley is so cute, enjoying her new green space! ♥
I so enjoy seeing your excitement covering the bricks with astroturf. It must have been the same joy that those who covered their wood floors with wall-to-wall carpeting felt back in the day.
I wasn't sure, but you convinced me! I liked the extra chairs placed on back wall. At the end I saw you took them away. I feel it really completed the area. You should go for something new for front porch and put these back by pool. I'd love if you could show us a bit of LA, your favorite spots, places to eat, shop, hang out, building, parks....etc😊
WOW! MaCenna…. Just Wow…it’s gorgeous❤️ It brought the garden in! You feel more intimate with your surroundings and yet still having individual conversation spaces and activities. This is for why I Love MaCenna. She is the Queen of "Trust the Process" because I was not able to envision the turf. But leave it to the brilliant mind of our girl... She nailed this DIY Backyard Makeover 👏🏾
I am not a fan of pet turf/faux grass, but I love how this turned out! So cute with the green grass, red geraniums, brick and terracotta pots. Really stunning, and the cut outs were the perfect way to break up the green! Nice job.😄👏
Looks so nice! I’m just thinking of the turf that was glued down by my front patio and part of our garage area when we bought our house…it stunk like cat pee…we had the hardest time getting it up and even after power washing, the glue still shows…so all this to say, I pray you don’t later feel regret, then struggle yo get it up off the brick…
You might want to think about putting bowls/receptacles under your big pots to catch the drainage from the plants. Otherwise your "grass" might start to get quite "yucky" underneath! Everything looks wonderful!
I think you've done an amazing job at creating an intimate and beautiful pool space. Don't let other people's opinions and experiences bring you down. We all have to live and learn a little. I think it looks great especially since it brings you and Romeo so much joy.
love that you put those smaller chairs on the other side of the pool such a great use of that space! perfect for guests too!!! The whole space looks amazing! Love those solar lights you found!!

This looks amazing!!! I think flower boxes under the windows on the house would tie in some of the floral elements from the opposite side. You’re so talented!
You are going to need a blower that vacuums so you can keep care of that turf. My suggestion is for your to make Kesley her own potty area that you can keep clean in that corner around the door you come out of. Dogs will go back to the same area once it has their sent. You can use the same turf, put it in a wood frame or over the drain area. I would not encourage her using the turf by the pool. Also Kensley should really be using the front yard away from the coyotes and never alone, should be on lease.
It's amazing people think I'm good at making my house pretty but I could never think like you do in a million years when you rounded off the grass to fit in with the edge of the pool WoW!!! X see you next time lots of love to the 3 of you ❤️❤❤
I love the turf!!! We added it to our back patio for our pets and they love it. It doesn’t get as hot and adds some *life* into concrete / brick. Some of your best work yet!!!
I love it! Turf has come a long way and is prefect for your area. As a furbaby mom this is just right. Love the cut outs and curves! Those lights are prefect for that area. You did good young lady!!❤
Absolutely gorgeous girl, as usual ❤ my daughter and son in law came over to help my husband and I get some outdoor work done on Saturday. While the guys were out in the yard my daughter, grand daughter and I worked on the deck, cleaning and fixing. We worked HARD! While we were taking down and repairing the screen door my grand daughter said wow we are doing still just like XO MaCenna!!! Made my heart ❤️ smile. Love your videos.

This makeover came out so cozy and beautiful! Just the right touch for your space. It reminded me of those summer movies where there is just something special about being in the backyard. I love it!
Wow your vision of how things will look always inspires me. You were right the grass adds that green which brings your eyes down and really complements all the green on top. 🥰 I love it!
I absolutely love what you’ve done. It is absolutely beautiful! I hope you’re happy with the turf. My youngest son, who lives in San Diego, just had his entire backyard turfed because he thought it was going to be lower maintenance, but it’s turned out to be very high maintenance, as it’s difficult keeping it clean. Spraying it with the hose just doesn’t do it. I really hope you don’t have the same issue. 😊
I’m usually not a fan of turf but I think this looks fantastic! It really adds softness and breaks up the brick. And it’s not like it’s replacing what was once planted or could be planted so not removing green space and biodiversity with plastic. Great addition in this case! Especially in California where you shouldn’t be watering a lawn anyways. I knew I should never doubt you, you always create fantastic perfection!!!
I never thought I would like artificial grass, but that looks great. Love the black lamps, and the pots with the red flowers just finish everything off.
STUNNING, ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!!! Cannot really tell it's turf, I love the placement of the 2 chairs between the solar lights. Great little seating nook.
I never thought I’d see you use fake grass ever. As someone who’s tried doing something similar, albeit in a smaller place and not around a pool, turf does not last well (and I even bought the expensive kind), it just stops looking good very fast.
My daughter had has the long blade turf in and area for 5 years, and it still looks great, not worn, and since it’s on the south side, it takes a beating.
It’s amazing what this one or 2 additions do for the whole area. It’s like 10 years in one day. Very nice and I’m sure it’s very pleasant to sit outside.
This faux grass can get really hot and needs to be hosed off at times . My neighbors have this and it to hot for their kids and sweet pups . Must admit it looks pretty !
Omg!!! This is so good! The fact that I'm also making over my Spanish house's patio on my channel right now makes it even better. You've always been an inspiration for me!! 🤍🤍
Great job! Looks so good! Would love to see the timber on the back fence painted black instead of white. All the trees professionally trimmed all the way up and fresh plants in the pots❤ it will give you the illusion of so much space ❤
Oh my goodness, the backyard makeover is gorgeous!!!! You have done such a thoughtful makeover on the space, and it was genius to soften the hard scape of the brick with the green turf. And your choice of the larger chairs paired with the fire pit is perfect, I also loved where you placed the other chairs against the wall on the opposite side of the pool. You and Romeo are going to enjoy so many years of happiness in your new home. Thank you for sharing your home and opening your doors to us to view your creativity; you have given me so many ideas on how I can improve my space.
WAIT! WHAT?? Absolute craziness! It’s gorgeous!!!! I never would have considered turf!! Woman! It’s so stunning! I loved it originally but I’m in shock at the difference!
This came out so beautifully and I especially love Kinsley's reaction to it! You could just tell that she's so excited to have a grassy knoll to sun bathe on. What a sweetheart she is! ❤ you guys did an amazing job as always
This looks so gorgeous. I always think your attention to the little details is what makes it just snap together. Making the rounded edges, cutting under the loungers and the steps were just chef's kiss!!
love!!! PS. We have the exact same fire pit here in SoCal, I highly highly HIGHLY suggest putting it away (or buying a cover for it) for when you're not using it/when it rains because it rusted so easily and while they're cheap to replace its much better to maintain what you've got for the sake of waste!
ARE YOU KIDDINGG this literally looks like something you’d see in architectural digest magazine!! Macenna you never cease to amaze me in the things you do

It's So Beautiful! All Your Work IS Beautiful, But You Can Tell How Happy Kensley Is With It ! Make My Heart Happy
The turf is a great idea! Love it!
Macenna your transformation are truly unbelievable. Obsessed with how it turned out ✨❤️
I’m stuck in limbo with my hopeful new deck. Thanks for giving me something to take my mind off the craziness.
Ugh this was just a complete pleasure to watch. Gorgeous.
Window flower boxes would finish off the space perfectly! At first, I was hesitant with the pet turf but it looks SO great!
It just keeps getting better and better, video by video! ❤❤❤
WAIT!
I love how you visualize your ideas on the design of your makeovers! 😊😊😊 Looking forward on the other rooms 😊
Love the brick border with the turf
You did the dang thing! Definitely full of character. Adorable. Quaint. Cozy. All the vibes.
That step edit. I’m dead lol
Absolutely stunning transformation! 😍🫶😍❤️ So beautiful!!!
Love the concept, and as always you have a great vision. But I can't with the turf, If it was real grass it be 100% perfect
love!!! PS. We have the exact same fire pit here in SoCal, I highly highly HIGHLY suggest putting it away (or buying a cover for it) for when you're not using it/when it rains because it rusted so easily and while they're cheap to replace its much better to maintain what you've got for the sake of waste!
Id recommend adding some kind of border to the edges of the turf so it looks finished and inset and not like it's floating on the brick
