Grrrr totally forgot to add the plant names lol. I will find the tags and add the names under this comment if your curious lol sorry
And y’all knocked it out of the ball park. It looks so beautiful and inviting. Great job it sure made the house look so beautiful the bricks look so vibrant against the black mulch
Hibiscus🌺, Codiaeum (Croton), Heptapleurum (Parasol Plant), Carex(Japanese Sedge)...I am sure I forgot a few😊.
Those are called houseplants where I live! Looks Great😍
That hibiscus is beautiful! Girl, sit down and put your feet up!😂
Looks fantastic. Do you have seasol over there? It reduces plant shock after replanting, the plant you moved looks like it needs some. Cambrian, you need a big wide brimmed sunhat.
The crotons will get pretty large.
Looks fabulous! I ALWAYS use cardboard, not weed barrier. The cardboard actually decomposes, adding organic material to the soil. FYI: I always loosen the roots around plants before planting since usually they are root bound in the pots. If roots aren’t loosened, the plant will not be able to get all the nutrients and will die. As a professional landscaper, I have found that this is usually why plants don’t survive when I check out clients’ plantings. If you notice plants not doing well, I suggest you dig them up and loosen the roots. Don’t throw them out! GREAT job overall!
Beautiful front yard. Kudos.🎉
Great job but I agree with Soulmideife1111 on it being important to loosen the roots of the plants. I didn’t know when I first started garden & everything died the next year. Luckily, the nursery I bought them from replaced them at a 50% discount.
Yard work is hard work and holy moly, you guys knocked it out!
So much work but also so worth it
The value of curb appeal is just wild! You guys knocked it out of the park! That space is beautiful!
I'm not sure about Florida, but in Indiana, you would've increased your property taxes by quite a bit. I too use cardboard under the mulch.
Your home is beautiful inside and out.
Everyone needs a Bobby and Cambriea in their life 😊
Absolutely!!!💯💯💯
It looks amazing, you both did an amazing job! You may want to put an edging between the mulch and the grass to prevent the grass from encroaching into your mulch and the big plant you moved will need a lot of water as you can see its in shock (droopy leaves) and give it a regular feed and it will be back to normal in no time! Now girl you and Bobby relax and enjoy your pregnancy!!❤
I was going to say the same thing about the edging! 😂
It looks totally fabulous what a beautiful upgrade to the exterior of your home... I would put edging between the grass and the mulch to avoid cross over of the grass and making it easier for Bobby to trim the grass.
Cedar shutters would look amazing and also wrapping the column in cedar would tie it together. The landscaping looks so great! ❤
not with that brick color --that pinkish/reddish tone and cedar orange/yellow will clash.
Add a few more of the red square stones to walk in and out of the seating area! Look stunning.
Stunning transformation. Take it easy girl. No more heavy lifting!!!!!!
Please be careful , you work way to hard. We care about you. Love your videos. 💖
Looks so good, I’m sure you’re enjoying that new space!
Love the new landscaping ❤and the sitting space 😍
Thank you. We have been really enjoying it
I would add lighting near the plants to show off at night, and down the walkway.
So pretty! You might consider putting in metal edging between the grass and the mulch to keep the edge crisp. It’s easy to trim then.
Instead of painting the brick, I would paint the trim black. That would really make that house look nice! This is a great video. Hard work definitely pays off!!
You two did a fabulous job with the landscaping. The house looks totally different now. I absolutely love your choice of plants.
Cambriea. One time I got so sunburned that I needed to go to the doctor but I had no insurance so I called the ER and begged for help over the phone which they are not allowed to do but this one guy helped me♥️. He said even if I went to the ER this is what to do. Get some CLEAR aloe vera gel. You can put on as much as you want no limit for safety and you can even keep it in the refrigerator to keep it cold feeling. He kept repeating to NOT EVER USE THE GREEN GEL. He said the green gel will hurt you and make you sick. I had an extremely bad sunburn that day and kept putting on a lot of CLEAR ALOE VERA GEL. Wow. Wow. Wow. The next morning it was all healed up and no longer painful. I burn easy so I use it all the time now. And an added benefit is that aloe vera gel is very healthy for your skin whether you have a burn or not. I love it. I keep a bottle in my refrigerator always now. Just remember only clear NO GREEN. Very cheap at Walmart. You will love it. Love you guys
when we were stationed in Hawaii, my exhusband was extremely burned. The nurses at the Naval hospital told us to use white vinager on WHITE TOWELS to lay on the burned areas. It did wonders for taking the heat out of his skin!
You and your husband did a beautiful job!
I love EVERYTHING YOU GUYS DID🤗 it’s stunning and it was a family effort 😊beautiful 🙏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾🤗👏🏾
Please thank Bobby for his service!! What a great transformation please take time to enjoy u both!!!
You worked your buns off !! It looks great!! I’ll tell you. This black mulch trend is very hot!! I have clients with huge homes and professional landscapers. They ALL use black mulch! I wish when I had my house it was a thing. I used that pretty red but it faded and never kept its look.
Phew, now you can enjoy during the rest of the summer!
Paint the shutters black it will pop off and black light Fixtures with black door handles and locks leave everything white trim with that red brick it would look amazing and you done a great job looks amazing
Adding potting soil before planting would ve helped the plants thrive better! Also breaking up the roots a little.
I would suggest a white fence panel, tall or short, to hide the metal pipe and utility meter on the right side of the garage. Not only would it hide the pipes but would be a great background for the colorful plants you planted there. Would also tie to the mailbox.
You need to get you a little edge across on the outside by the yard either stone or that black plastic to hold the mulch in to make it easier on Bobby when he’s weed eating and cutting the grass otherwise the mulch is gonna be everywhere
I believe I would have moved that bush by the garage door on front by the end of the house, so it wouldn’t obscure your view out your picture window. Looks amazing.
We are in Florida too. It cost us last year $4500.00 for six big trees, plants at least 30 of them, and all new sod and mulch .
i love the idea of adding the big rocks as space fillers instead of more flowers/plants. definitely breaks it up and ZERO maintenance! lol great job!
Amazing transformation. Absolutely fantastic. Just a hint for the paving next use sand instead of soil when it rains that will just be a mud pile where sand will compress with the rain and set the papers ( I've learnt) ❤
I think you should have a larger patio area in the front yard, some more red stones, would be nice, ☺️🌸🌹🌼
Beautiful. Make sure and go around your mailbox to bring it all together. I love your concrete creatures. Adorable! You guys sure are hard workers. God bless
Beautiful work and even considering it took five days, still a lot of work was accomplished in a short period of time. Awesome! Glad I’m not the only one who works in sandals. 😊
Your daughter is just so darling! It makes me miss my granddaughters when they were that age! 🥰 You’re such a hard worker. Great job! -Susan
Suggestion...throughout summer, begin hitting box stores/garden centers for clearance on "infrastructure bushes/shrubs/trees". Grew up in SC, near beach--pick up some jasmine vines, camellias & "tea ollies"--they do well in harsh conditions. Take your time adding the perfect plants...just get things on great sales, no rush--you're both doing a great job!!
The yard looks so pretty. You have room to add some perennials if you want more color.
Girl you did that in your sandals like a pro!
5 days! That is a miracle and so beautiful. Great design! You are pros! Congratulations.😊
You added to your curb appeal beautifully. Great job. You’re right it’s a lot of work. ❤
I love the addition of the rocks to fill in spots. Good call!
Absolutely amazing transformation! Congratulations on the pregnancy ❤️
Wow, everything looked so amazing and I cannot believe it was just you and your husband doing all that work! You are now my new hero!
The only thing I think maybe you could add is maybe a bird bath or a water feature but everything else I would say it's perfect. Beautiful job!!!
Another thing you may want to do is start adding some ground cover in the mulch areas. Just be careful not to get invasive plants. I had a beautiful lime green gr. cover that started to take my entire landscaping & also started in our grass in the 1st spring season. I had to did it up to remove the roots before i got it to stop. It took 2 years to totally remove it. Since then we have used various succulents like hens& chickens in different colors. They spread nicely, tolerant the heat. Gr. covers will eventually remove the need for mulch. Some even produce small flowers.
Lights throughout the flower bed would look good and some uplights to highlight parts of the house at night.
Beautiful house makeover looks very pretty specially with the black shavings, but you do need a edging around the beds because the grass is going to grow into it
Love the landscape ❤ I would just add some black edging to dissappear into the mulch as to uts not seen and it will keep the mulch in place 😊
Thanks for sharing how you went about the makeover. Everything is looking so beautiful and you did a great job refreshing this area and putting so many beautiful plants and shaded areas in just to sit and relax and the beautiful garden. Thanks for sharing.
i deff would have added a no dig border around the mulch area that touches the grass it also helps with weeds and keeps it nice and clean
I also use cardboard as a weed barrier. I also go to a local grocery store and liquor store to get free boxes. Thank you for the brick idea for a patio. We are going to do something like that for our patio. And a walkway from our side area to our front. I absolutely love what you did. Wow! Only 5 days. Its going to take me a year or so to do ours as we are a tad older. We have to take lots of breaks. At the moment we are trying to rid our backyard of darn blackberries. Both larger and baby ones. Thanks for sharing this with us. Great job!
I would have put the bush to the left of garage to open up the entrance way and you can also paint your rocks I did mine white & it really brings out the black mulch. Looks great!!!!
👍 for using cardboard instead of weed fabric. It wouldn't only mean $1000 less, but also incomposible rags in the soil, starved soil, incredible hard work to remove and damaged plant roots when doing so. Just let some ground cover grow in the mulch spaces, which suppresses weeds once cardboard and mulch have decayed. Bare spaces with just a few plants aren't to be permanent. Good video for getting a nice effect, and it's better than many multi $1000 or $10k makeovers, which are only about extended hardscapes and gadgets.
Black Shutters on you front window would look nice with the black mulch! Landscaping turned out really nice and yes it back breaking work! But worth it!
Cambria, I love what you and Bobby did with the landscaping. In VA when we do a patio, we would put sand first and then the bricks. Once the bricks were in place , you would add more sand to the cracks. Either way what you guys did is beautiful.
Looks good, but the plant you say you loved is usually only a houseplant. I hope it lives for you outside. Maybe paint the trim and shutters black. Love the patio you created.
It’s Beautiful..I would add border around the flower beds all the mulch in off the grass...
Sweetie, just a little tip to save money. Your local city dump site has free compost and Mulch. I now save a lot of money...
Our city dump compost and mulch had a lot of weeds in it. If I catch the mulch on sale like the 5/$10, I will buy it.
Ours does not sadly
Great tip!🎉
What a beautiful transformation. The only change i would make is to add punches of colour. Add creeping thyme which is so pretty ground cover. And then flowers of a variety of colours that would make black mulch pop! Great job! Sorry for your backs.
Ours has way too much garbage. I was uncomfortable working with it for health reasons. It’s jus not worth it to me. I’ll spend the few dollars and purchase inexpensive mulch
Your yard looks absolutely beautiful! I have always done my own yard work and landscaping. It is therapy to me. I live in an active neighborhood where families are out walking and riding their bikes. I have had people stop and tell me I have one of the prettiest yards on the street. You should see how amazed they are when I tell them I do my own yard work. My state is still having some cold days, but after watching you two, I cannot wait to get back out into my yard. Once again, you did an amazing job on your yard. Have a wonderful week, friends!
Landscaping looks great and by the way the color of the house looks just fine it’s such a pretty pop color I love it❤👍🏻
I'm amazed by your energy. Everything looks great.
Great job. I think you were such an expert at putting that cardboard down. I put some pavers down and used a sand like consistency product that you sprinkle with water between the cracks. I would find the mulch a problem when it rains or gets wet. I think you would have to put the brick pavers closer together if you used it though. I am 76 and my daughter just bought a house last winter and she is letting me landscape the front and back yard. She had a long walkway from the driveway to the front door and around the front of the house with small white marble rocks at least 6 inches deep. I put an ad on Craigslist and 3 different guys came and took all of it. I put topsoil down and will be planting boxwood so I can hedge them eventually. I also have a huge project in the back yard. The back has tons of area with river rock which she hates but I cannot get rid of all of it. A raised garden bed has to be removed which is at least 10x20 and I will move it all towards the fencing and make a berm and plant in it. Plants and trees are so expensive it is going to take a while to get the look I want. Mostly all perennials and evergreens as my daughter hates yard work and gardening and I won't be around forever to maintain it. This will be my 4th house I have totally landscaped. Two were mine, one my son's and now my daughter. It is my passion, so I am so happy they let me do this for them.
Hi Cambriea it turned out gorgeous you both worked so hard,I think a few little solar lights along the path would be lovely there are so many now to choose from have a lovely week.😊
You did a beautiful job landscaping your yard I like your Patio with the chairs but I think you need to add more pavers to make it a little larger so you can have a little more room on it so you can move around a little more freely
If you want white brick, lime wash. 50lb or so bag of Dehydrated lime is about $10. Just add water and paint. You will have to touch up over time but it’s easy.
Looks amazing!!!! I absolutely love the look of mulch as well. I feel like it makes the plants really stand out. Looks so clean and fresh! 😊
What a great idea and transformation, this has given me ideas of what to do in my front yard. You can used the
empty mulch bags weed barrier.
Totally love it!❤
Cambriea, you are good with outdoor chores. You are amazing woman, in all the task.
Oh thank you!
Thank you for your reply.
Oh it looks amazing!
Looks so much better! What I would’ve done differently is put some pea gravel underneath the pavers and put the pavers closer together. Then swept sand in between the pavers. I would just be concerned about the pavers eventually sinking. I don’t know about the mulch in between the pavers either.I live in Ohio though and I have to use a leaf blower and clean out a lot of leaves and debris so my mulch flies everywhere. You may be ok!
It looks beautiful!
