Needs a in-game toggle switch to turn HUD on/off without pausing and going into settings. It’s much more immersive without HUD, but sometimes you need info such as tyre wear, position, fuel etc.
I have the PS5 with the PSVR2 and GT7 is AMAZING!! I also have the Fanatec DD pro Force feedback wheel and pedals with the load coil brake upgrade. I built my own racing rig using a bucket seat and it doesn't get better than this. All together, I spent $2100 for everything and it's the best money I ever spent. Every hour it becomes cheaper!
I'm also approaching 500 hours in GT7 with PSVR2 and the Fanatec DD Pro wheel with extra feedback and third pedal. I've never been into racing games before but this is amazing. When the weather is miserable (ie more often than not here in England!) I just jump in a convertible (usually the Z8) and then go and race in the sunshine. I agree it is the little details that really suck you in, such as the sun glare on the dashboard or them lights from the car behind at night that really make it feel real. My main gripe is the menu system is awful, involving lots of clicks (and time) to get to where you want. It would also be good if it could tell you why you didn't get a clean race status when sometimes you've really tried hard to drive clean but failed. One other frustration is in VR mode you don't get the prominent low fuel warning that you get in 2D so sometimes that catches me out. I would love it if they added more open top sports cars as in VR (perhaps Z4 E89 and Merc SLK) as you really appreciate the environment more when there is no roof blocking out the sky! Having put all this work into creating such an amazing game engine for the racing I don't understand why Polyphony don't utilise it in any other titles. It would be a great simulator for teaching people to drive in the real world though I guess there would need to be lots of variations for different countries having different rules and signs.
This is the best vr i ever played, its just simply fantastic, and vr showroom is such cool as well, i psvr2 is true gamechanger really good vr, i played some other games to, right now i playing through walking dead saint and sinners chapter 2, have played resident evil village fantastic to, switchback was cool for some just pure experince, Psvr2 is well worth the price tag, great visuals and its easy to use
Ive been playing GT7 sports mode in PSVR2 since it released and its the best racing game , iam addicted 100% . If you haven't tried it and you are into racing itsa must , it will blow your mind guaranteed.
It's even better with a steering wheel but yeah it's expensive to shell out on it especially because you need a PS5 and a VR2, it all adds up to a lot.
Awesome game.sold my pc and vr to get the psvr2 and havnt been disappointed.pcvr was sharper but so much hassle to get running,psvr2 is just plug and play
Truly amazing game. Completely addicted. Going to hit 500 hours very soon. I did splurge and bought the Logitech G Pro wheel and pedal set. Super smooth and plenty of power. And the TruForce feedback is next level. This is the reason to grab the G Pro wheel. I’ve had a couple of glitches where the force feedback is still active, but the TruForce haptic has stopped. OMG! That’s when I can truly appreciate the added haptics. Didn’t realize how much more immersive it has made GT7. You can feel which side of the car is hitting the curbs. I would not buy a wheel without the TruForce haptic option. Very limited support, but I was ok with that because I knew that GT7 supported it. Now if only ACC was in VR.
The g pro wheel and pedals are great,I'm not a fan of trueforce though..yes it adds a little more detail to rumble strips etc but for me the ffb is enough
Thanks buddy :) As for a wheel... you're right, and you're not the first to say it. Once enough UA-cam pennies have been collected, I'll get a wheel for sure and do an update video! - Chris
Using the pS5 controller is much better. Can turn on the gyro feature and turn it like you would a steering wheel, and the best way other then a steering wheel to play this
It's quite interesting, you can see what your eyes are looking at in VR as the places you're not looking at are more pixellated. Is the whole car rendered too? Dirt Rally on PS4 only rendered the frone half of the car, so if you looked behind you were literally driving half a car! :D
Yeah, that's the foveated rendering in action. You don't notice it at all when you're playing, but it's clear to see in the video. And yep - the whole car is rendered, you can turn all the way around and check for murderers in the backseat! - Chris
Sony have not dropped support, only at this stage leaving games to 3rd party developers, and heaps of games still coming. Also PC support now for PSVR2, so will end up selling heaps more to PC owners, as there are many PC owners who would love a PSVR2 as for a headset its pretty advanced compared to some others, and the only Headset at this stage supporting HDR. Also GT7, Horizon, Resident Evil, Red matter, alone are worth buying the headset just for these games alone.

@@PurePlayTVit's game changing having a wheel and a racing rig.

I'm poor :'( - Chris
PSVR2 is ok don’t buy Sony already dropping support….PCVR much better looks better mod support just upgraded my VR 👍🏼
Idk what your talking ab ok it’s great it’s just as good as pc vr 😭
There is nothing that comes close to this VR racing experience unless you spend at least twice as much on hardware.

My psvr2 was purchased gt7 and gt7 only, it is fantastic, I have zero interest in playing any other game in vr 😮😮😮
