Regarding Metallica as a whole. It doesn't matter if you are a rock fan, or a rap fan, country, or just enjoy music as a whole, you can't deny Metallica is one of the greatest bands ever, if not. Even if they're not someone's favorite, or if they're not the style of rock/metal you like, you cannot deny that they have made their name known. Everyone knows Metallica. Be it old school, new school, or die hard fan. This band is worldwide and have made their feet stamped into the history of music. Rock on Metallica. 🤘

When I first heard this tune the other night I was kinda torn, as far as my initial impression. Now a couple days have gone by and I have found myself repeatedly going back to listen to it, over and over. The chorus where James screams the song title is everything in this track. That and the kick drums. But just the way James climbs the ladder vocally to belt out the chorus is such an amazing hook.
This almost feels like a sorta power metal almost-but-not-quite Dokken-type vibe meets British new wave meets sped-up Load riffage meets a more polished version of Hit the Lights. It's gonna be a go-to live song (the lyrics kinda reflect that) and the song's energy and the boys' own energy are undeniable. I can't explain it, but all I know is my ear loves it.
I'm very happy Metallica is back with new tunes and I'm also very happy they kept the album under wraps so now it's arriving soon - to MY mind - rather than them announcing it 2 years out and then us playing the waiting game.

I think people are missing the point on KH's solo. The song is an homage to 80's NWOBHM and this is an 80's type solo.

I’ve watched like 10 other reactions tonight but on yours I noticed there is a double bass flutter that Larz does. I heard it first in here. It’s about 3:45ish in this video. It’s real quick and subtle but amazing. Love how this song is Metallica but with “new” sound. Just goes to show that a band can and will always rock!

I love the simplicity of this song, and how they use that simplicity, with little niches here and there. Songs don't have to be complicated to sound awesome. This is an awesome track in my humble opinion.

They seem to be on an uphill turn lately. St Anger and Death Magnetic were absolute dogshit, but HTSD was a solid release, and this sounds even tighter,
Death Magnetic is an amazing album and is actually BETTER than Hardwired. The problem was the TERRIBLE recording quality. Listen to it again or even the live versions of those songs and you'll see
Death Magnetic has some underrated gems in it. Some of which don't have horrible recordings, but still not great.

Kirks solo sounds a bit too generic to me. But after some listens it´s ok

Um, no "Enter Sandman" is not the greatest song of all time (No I am not one of those Metallica fans that hates Metallica - Metallica (The Black Album), it's good but not as good as Master of Puppets or One or Battery or Damage Inc or Seek and Destroy or Dyers Eve or ... you get the point. St. Anger ain't even that bad, especially the live versions of the songs.

Rick Rubin produced Death Magnetic. And he didn´t do a good job. This album is a victim of the loudness war.
If this song is a real banger why are tons of people in the guitar playing music community complaining about it poorly??? I'm talking actual professional musical artists even( not Dave Mustaine saying he wrote this lol) and some even do UA-cam videos. One even went to point out the drums and put it in a isolated sound. So I'm mean if I does something for you cool. But to me they're desperate at trying to get back to past glory and it shows in how it hurts the song. Oh I can't get my head past professional lister bro. Sounds like a feel good title and the word professional being thrown around loosely like elite in a sports conversation these days...

9:50 Dude is sitting in a professional studio, missed everything about the mix/production, the highly edited drumming, weak guitar sound, how Rob is nonexistent in the mix.
This is nothing new at all, it's a repeat of what they have done before circa Kill 'Em All. Funny how the only producer who actually listens and comments is Rick Beato...check him out for actual feedback.
