As the kind of person who you were talking about, guitarist who loves Metallica, I am so happy to see them come out with a true Metallica song. Album comes out in a few months and I sure hope that this is an omen of things to come.
Regarding Metallica as a whole. It doesn't matter if you are a rock fan, or a rap fan, country, or just enjoy music as a whole, you can't deny Metallica is one of the greatest bands ever, if not. Even if they're not someone's favorite, or if they're not the style of rock/metal you like, you cannot deny that they have made their name known. Everyone knows Metallica. Be it old school, new school, or die hard fan. This band is worldwide and have made their feet stamped into the history of music. Rock on Metallica. 🤘
When I first heard this tune the other night I was kinda torn, as far as my initial impression. Now a couple days have gone by and I have found myself repeatedly going back to listen to it, over and over. The chorus where James screams the song title is everything in this track. That and the kick drums. But just the way James climbs the ladder vocally to belt out the chorus is such an amazing hook. This almost feels like a sorta power metal almost-but-not-quite Dokken-type vibe meets British new wave meets sped-up Load riffage meets a more polished version of Hit the Lights. It's gonna be a go-to live song (the lyrics kinda reflect that) and the song's energy and the boys' own energy are undeniable. I can't explain it, but all I know is my ear loves it. I'm very happy Metallica is back with new tunes and I'm also very happy they kept the album under wraps so now it's arriving soon - to MY mind - rather than them announcing it 2 years out and then us playing the waiting game. These old dogs can still hunt.🤘🤘
@@maximumentertainment4414 I agree with you, I absolutely love this song. Did you get tickets for the upcoming tour? "Never alive more than right here tonight!" A lyric that captures the feeling of us diehards at a Metshow!
Cool reaction it the 6song off the album so it could be intense album or 77 minutes of everything else done by them in life. Hopefully the 12songs on it will be gd as this one. Been fan since 84
I’ve watched like 10 other reactions tonight but on yours I noticed there is a double bass flutter that Larz does. I heard it first in here. It’s about 3:45ish in this video. It’s real quick and subtle but amazing. Love how this song is Metallica but with “new” sound. Just goes to show that a band can and will always rock!
I love the simplicity of this song, and how they use that simplicity, with little niches here and there. Songs don't have to be complicated to sound awesome. This is an awesome track in my humble opinion.
I’m 44, (Gen X) we just get this sound a certain way and you get it the way I do. rad song dude. Fuck rap and all this American idol bullshit. MetallicA rules!!
Yeah, I don't know why people thought they dropped off the face of the Earth. Sure, they dropped this new single out of nowhere but they've always been around, touring, interviews, Pandemic isolation but the latest news on them was that they were hard at work on the newest album..........so I dunno where all this surprise & confusion is coming from xD
Fuck the haters, they always gonna be haters in the end of the day. Music is the best thing we can drive with, so don’t hate bands enjoy the music no matter what it is. Enjoy it the full of it.
Lol. Appeal to the younger generation. Then you need to chnage the title to “Reaction to new Metallica song from Stranger Things”. Lol. Love the breakdown. Since you mentioned garage days, what was your fav song from that album? I would probably pick Stone Cold Crazy.
not going to lie, I lost it when I saw the Stranger Things scene lol. Mercyful Fate is my favorite, but there's so many good ones! Stone Cold Crazy is great, but I love Whiskey in the Jar, Astronomy, and Turn the Page
Thank you man.. amazing react👍 instant sub! Pointed out everything. I’d have to agree with you on death magnetic being bland. Rick Rubin made it forgettable unfortunately. Here we have Greg Fidelman yet again. Such a talent. Explosive saturation of Metallica. This man has got it and it shoes yet again 🔥🤘
They seem to be on an uphill turn lately. St Anger and Death Magnetic were absolute dogshit, but HTSD was a solid release, and this sounds even tighter,
Death Magnetic is an amazing album and is actually BETTER than Hardwired. The problem was the TERRIBLE recording quality. Listen to it again or even the live versions of those songs and you'll see
ST. ANGER IS A FANTASTIC ALBUM JUST LIKE ALL OF THE REST OF THEIR ALBUMS. METALLICA DOES NOT HAVE ONE BAD ALBUM ALL OF THEIR ALBUMS ARE FANTASTIC AND ONE ALBUM IS NOT BETTER THAN ANOTHER ALBUM. SO IF YOU WERE A TRUE HARDCORE METALLICA FAN YOU WOULD TOTALLY AGREE WITH ME, BUT YOU ARE NOT A TRUE HARDCORE METALLICA FAN.
Lol. Not a true fan because someone disagrees with you? What are you 12? I personally like all of their albums. But there’s no doubt in my mind that Master of Puppets is better than Load. And Load is a great album. I have been listening since 84. And I am certainly a true fan.
Um, no "Enter Sandman" is not the greatest song of all time (No I am not one of those Metallica fans that hates Metallica - Metallica (The Black Album), it's good but not as good as Master of Puppets or One or Battery or Damage Inc or Seek and Destroy or Dyers Eve or ... you get the point. St. Anger ain't even that bad, especially the live versions of the songs.
The black album is the one that sucks and I skip over that if anything from the 90s sucks ass me and my dead brother came back to them because of Saint Anger love the tin tin tin on the drums now and an great Punk album which is way I also love ACDC fly on the wall I been listening to all their albums since 2003 plus the first 4 albums r god like from the 80s
If this song is a real banger why are tons of people in the guitar playing music community complaining about it poorly??? I'm talking actual professional musical artists even( not Dave Mustaine saying he wrote this lol) and some even do UA-cam videos. One even went to point out the drums and put it in a isolated sound. So I'm mean if I does something for you cool. But to me they're desperate at trying to get back to past glory and it shows in how it hurts the song. Oh I can't get my head past professional lister bro. Sounds like a feel good title and the word professional being thrown around loosely like elite in a sports conversation these days...
Because they're dumb and desperate for attention? Don't you know how the internet works by now??? Anything "good" will have a group of people that criticize it just because they want to stand out. So usually the 1st thing people with no talent do is criticize something they can't do to elevate themselves above the thing they're criticizing - cuz what else are they going to do? Make their own hit song? HAHAHAHA!! Just because you put a title in front of your name doesn't mean you know what you're talking about. That goes for guitarists, vocal coaches, band members, lunch ladies, roadies, mixers, producers, WHATEVER. That's literally the point of me calling myself a professional music listener, cuz the title don't f'n matter. You know what DOES matters? Whether or not people like it. 1,000 guitarists can say the song sucks, but if people love it, then that's all the matters - more than their opinion ever will. You need to start thinking for yourself instead of just regurgitating whatever someone else says. You'll be better off for it cuz right now you just sound dumb
Sounds 100 % "canned" over produced, auto tuned, sadly basic, and like something off a movie soundtrack. C'mon guys no free passes for anyone even the Metallicats
9:50 Dude is sitting in a professional studio, missed everything about the mix/production, the highly edited drumming, weak guitar sound, how Rob is nonexistent in the mix. This is nothing new at all, it's a repeat of what they have done before circa Kill 'Em All. Funny how the only producer who actually listens and comments is Rick Beato...check him out for actual feedback.
Mix/production quality is excellent and I pointed that out in the video. Are you deaf? Sure seems like it based on your comment? It's ok if you don't know what good music sounds like. That's what I'm here for, to educate people like you.
Imagine saying something is not top ten because it's overplayed LOL. There's a reason it's overplayed. It just hit 1 billion streams on Spotify alone and it's a song from 30 years ago that STILL holds up to this day

The armed forces and the Police gave up and started headbanging. Phenomenal.
You're very entertaining as well.
I read somewhere that they actually stopped counting after 1.5 or 1.6 million.
1.6 million 😎

This song is average, but it's better than anything they have done in the last 32 years.

Definitely looking forward to the full album!
I JUST LOVE THIS SONG, NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY!!! 🤘🏼🎶
Imagine the Crowds full of they Concert Yelling and Screaming "Lux Ætherna" and never stop Head banging too
I'm head banging and my Husband said Are you okay? Yes. Go back to listening to Tim McGraw honey.
I 've never head of a pressional music listener. I need to find out more on this, as I listen to about 500 albums a year.
First thing I thought of was “You mean I’ve been doing this for free all of this time!?!”

Haha I loved St. ANGER!
SHHHHHHHHH

I did too. Could use a remix, but the riffs!
I think people are missing the point on KH's solo. The song is an homage to 80's NWOBHM and this is an 80's type solo.
There's nothing wrong with the solo. Sounds good and like it sampled some previous patterns
