Not too many bands have been able to drop something like this and not only get the people listening to it hyped but the pure enjoyment and happiness that they get from this song. Also, this song is about bringing the old and new fans together as one
"72 Seasons = 18 years" I kind of hope they pay homage to all of the early years, So stoked for this album.... Been a fan since 1984...14 year old me turned into52 year old me & I'm a very happy boy with "Lux Eterna" !!!
"14 year old me turned into 52 year old me." - happens to us all, bro, and i'm not too far behind you at 38. Metallica and the songs that James makes are eternal though. keep rockin'. 🤘
This song is a spiritual successor to hit the lights. The feeling of being at a live show the anticipation of the show throwing all your stresses and things like that and letting it all out at a show as one spirit
I think this sound is a call back to the energy they started with but matured & refined. "Kindred Alliance" being the band staying unitedly strong through the different iterations/generations of the band. Using the conecpt of "Eternal Light", to me, is more of how they're each strands of light travelling through time, committed to each other as an ever-evolving Metallica.
simply made the past into the future out of nothing. this disc is wise and clever. rousing and pleasantly rustic in a positive sense 🤘 definitely one of the most manifested songs ever
Great reaction guys. Old time Metallica Fan, and I absolutely love the energy Metallica bring to this, yes, simple song. I've found a lot of new music watching reaction videos, and yes, bring Jamie on a tour of Metallica - I would start from the beginning and show him the progression of the band over the past 41 years. Also, if you guys want something new for the channel, check out NF - really under the radar rapper in the mainstream, but has millions of followers.
It's an old Catholic Chant to honor the dead. The original guy that signed them, Jonny Z, died earlier this year. My guess is that it's some kind of tribute. The "full speed or nothin" Comes from Motorbreath. Lotta Kill em All in this tune. Excellent start to hopefully a new classic album.
Fun fact…. Metallica Load came out in ‘96. I was only 11 years old back then and was the first album I ever bought. I rocked that album in my Sony Walkman until the CD fell apart. 😂 So, I have a major soft spot for the Load album….. but, as I grew up and music was downloadable as the years went on and I listened to their older stuff I completely see where you all are coming from…. But I still love the Load album. Oh, And 3 years later I bought Eminem’s debut album. So, I literally grew up on Metallica and Eminem… that explains a lot. 😂
When I first heard this tune the other night I was kinda torn, as far as my initial impression. Now a couple days have gone by and I have found myself repeatedly going back to listen to it, over and over. The chorus where James screams the song title is everything in this track. That and the kick drums. But just the way James climbs the ladder vocally to belt out the chorus is such an amazing hook. This almost feels like a sorta power metal almost-but-not-quite Dokken-type vibe meets British new wave meets sped-up Load riffage meets a more polished version of Hit the Lights. It's gonna be a go-to live song (the lyrics kinda reflect that) and the song's energy and the boys' own energy are undeniable. I can't explain it, but all I know is my ear loves it. I'm very happy Metallica is back with new tunes and I'm also very happy they kept the album under wraps so now it's arriving soon - to MY mind - rather than them announcing it 2 years out and then us playing the waiting game. These old dogs can still hunt.
I agree that both of their last albums have been a return to their thrash origins. The first time I heard this, what it reminded me of the most was Motorhead- Ace of Spades (in pace, length and overall feel). And that's not a bad thing
Totally Kill 'em All. "Don't stop for nothing, it's full speed or nothing" - Motorbreath, main lyric, Riff before and after the solo, Hit the Lights (about 2:35 on youtube version). Topic, pretty much Hit the Lights. It's about being at a concert, how we all come together and to vent.
Guys you made my entire week! 😂👍🏼 It's so great to hear such a full and wholesome opinion on the theme, basically just conducting your opinion through the history of Metallica itself.
Yup, I agree too, Jamie needs a reaction to Master Of Puppets and mostly I hope it will end up in his playlist too as it has as you guys said BAAAARSSSSS
This is a FUCKING NAILER. And Kirks Solo is classic, old school Metallica/Kirk Hammet. I Love it, Kirk is saying.....Im still here....and STILL THE BEST..
I’ve been a huge Metallica fan since the mid 80s and I loved the hardwired album and can’t wait for the next one! I’ve listened to this new song so many times over the past few days and I don’t know how I’m going to make it until April for the whole album!
16:10 homage to Hit the Lights. Right after the last chorus into the last solo of that song. And is anyone gonna talk about Rob's badass bass playing in this song?
Long long time metalica fan. I have to listen to this a lot of times before I can make my mind. Up. Great reaction as always. Let's do some extreeme metal. Yeeeee
some songs are meant to have a big deep message some songs are meant to sing along, this is a sing-along this is just meant to get your blood pumping, get your head banging and get you ready and it's fucking incredible
So down for some Metallica reactions. Big AJFA fan right here. I’m only 21 but last year my buddy and I saw them at Louder than Life and they killed it. Didn’t think I’d see them again so soon but when a new album drops…you see Metallica😭😂🤘
love the disposable heroes cover at the end 😭😭 this was such a fun reaction to watch since you guys know metallica pretty well & it’s great that you guys loved the new song! but yes def show jamie some of met’s older music, it’s too good
I've been a Metallica fan since, well, Kill 'em All. I saw them in a SF club on that tour. But the first big concert was Day on the Green '85 and Dec '85 at the Memorial Auditorium, Sacramento, CA....my home town. Before Cliff was killed, we had tickets to the Ozzy/Metallica show at Cal Expo. Ozzy canceled for "vocal" issues. He was too screwed up to perform. They rescheduled and Cliff was killed a few months before that gig. That European tour was all rescheduled. Makes you think what could have happened. When they quickly got back and recruited Jason, they were pretty damn angry and that feeling can be heard throughout And Justice for All. They also stated the band wanted to go full gas and show some technical ability.....fast. I saw that tour and it was awesome, but we were all still grieving the death of Cliff.
I'm with Jaime.....I've never heard Metallica either. lol. I don't think I have ever seen Greg so stoked over a song or an album! lol. He looks like a kid on Christmas....🎄🧑🏼🎄 This is funny.....Jaime has the same look on his face that Greg gets ...when Bill & Jaime are talking about HH! 🤔🙄😂😂
YES please Master of Puppets give him the gift as he has given us the gift of his rap wisdom. I really didn't think I would ever like rap pre pandemic but I have come to realize there are different kinds of rap and I really love lyrical rap and part of that enrichment of my life has been the knowledge of the right side of Three Shades. So please give Jaime a chance to be enriched as he has enriched us.
This is basically a 2022 version of 'Hit The Lights'. They are going back to singing about metal / headbangers and avoiding all the political stuff which is a welcome change imo. 10/10.
I believe, and it's all subjective, but the meaning of it .. look to light ..? sure... but what is the Light? So each verse points out situations where music is the light, whether it's casting out demons you've suffered, or just being part of a community in concert with a band giving it shit on stage and just being one and embracing the light! That's how i choose to see it ; cuz i love the message. Album Drops: april 2023
Hi guys! I see a lot of requests for I Will or Lucky You when you hit 40k. Both are fire, so I wouldn't mind that. So if Psychopath Killer doesn't make the cut. What about 45K?!? 🤷 And Justice for All is my favorite Metallic album.
couple of YEAHs : YEAH! I was hoping you guys would jump on this one. YEAH! definitely more Metallica on here! YEAH! album is being released 14-Apr next year. I said it before and I'll say it again, Metallica is the Eminem of metal and vice-versa, SO so many parallels. Cool reaction 🤘🏻
Right from the first listen I felt this song was a continuation from the "Hardwired..." album but also had that classic 80's feel to it. Also Lar's drumming at the start certainly had a Motorhead influence going on, possibly 'Overkill'....
the high notes James is singing remind me of garage days The Wait, (it was just muted down some) but maybe thats just me... idk like he has done it before is all im saying and the song kills it trust me lol
I really think you should start from the beginning. Kill em all, that way he can hear them change throughout the years. Also you guys just did an amazing cover of Disposable heroes 🤣
Guess you fellas missed out on "Death Magnetic" 2008? That to me was their true return to old core thrash. They ditched Bob Rock and brought in Rick Rubin to specifically bring them back to the sounds of old. 😄🤘 "All Nightmare Long", "The Juda Kiss", "The Day That Never Comes", "Broken, Beat, & Scarred". Many "Bangers" on this album.
Not too many bands have been able to drop something like this and not only get the people listening to it hyped but the pure enjoyment and happiness that they get from this song. Also, this song is about bringing the old and new fans together as one
Awesome comment. You nailed it, dude. 🤘🤘
Very true! In my opinion they want to make Stranger Things fans buying their upcoming album.
as the lyrics even say.. "A sea of hearts beat as one, unified"
Yes more Metallica! let’s see Jamie react, best band in the world let’s go!
Death magnetic is very underrated.
For real.
Fact
"72 Seasons = 18 years" I kind of hope they pay homage to all of the early years, So stoked for this album.... Been a fan since 1984...14 year old me turned into52 year old me & I'm a very happy boy with "Lux Eterna" !!!
This is my theory on the album.
"14 year old me turned into 52 year old me." - happens to us all, bro, and i'm not too far behind you at 38. Metallica and the songs that James makes are eternal though. keep rockin'. 🤘
Ditto and I'm two years older at 54. They say we mature, nah, no way, we are young forever. At least in our minds. The body differs though 😂🤣😂
i cant wait to here the rest of the album.
This song is a spiritual successor to hit the lights. The feeling of being at a live show the anticipation of the show throwing all your stresses and things like that and letting it all out at a show as one spirit
Yes! First time I heard it I swear I thought it was brother to hit the lights!
This dude is crazy AJF is an absolute masterpiece, groovy, crunchy, slow and fast, some of Lara best drum work, and the guitars sound awesome
I’ve heard the song is basically about one of their concerts and the unity of generations and just getting along.
totally loved it. double bass drums, incredible riff, great vocals. so, pumped for the album. great reaction video as well.
simply made the past into the future out of nothing. this disc is wise and clever. rousing and pleasantly rustic in a positive sense 🤘 definitely one of the most manifested songs ever

Definitely should react to 80s Metallica for Jaime and NF would be awesome.

fuck yeah! Jamie needs to hear master of puppets, one and enter sandman, preferably a live consert video from Moscow(Monsters of Rock, 1,6million ppl)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The riff n beat at the end!!
James sounds so good and that mid range guitar!!
🤘🏻🤘🏻 coming April 23
Totally Kill 'em All. "Don't stop for nothing, it's full speed or nothing" - Motorbreath, main lyric, Riff before and after the solo, Hit the Lights (about 2:35 on youtube version). Topic, pretty much Hit the Lights. It's about being at a concert, how we all come together and to vent.
Master of puppets are pulling Jamie's strings! Twisting his mind and smashing his dreams!!
refreshing to see a reaction that compares this to kill em all
Guys you made my entire week! 😂👍🏼
It's so great to hear such a full and wholesome opinion on the theme, basically just conducting your opinion through the history of Metallica itself.
Yup, I agree too, Jamie needs a reaction to Master Of Puppets and mostly I hope it will end up in his playlist too as it has as you guys said BAAAARSSSSS
And now we have METALLICA. Fresh.
This is a FUCKING NAILER.

my friends, hello from Greece! Metallica is approaching 60 and look what metal they give us! Unbelievable!

Would absolutely love to see Jaime listen to Master of Puppets! That is a lyrical masterpiece!
This is a show opener if I’ve ever heard one.
some songs are meant to have a big deep message some songs are meant to sing along, this is a sing-along this is just meant to get your blood pumping, get your head banging and get you ready and it's fucking incredible
Metallica gives you a life's lesson

The first time I've been excited for a Metallica album in 30 years!!!
"St Anger is a piece of shit"
Lulu : "hold my beer"
Well said!
Damn Greg Puciato on the left lookin fresh still
Title track is amazing too💯🔥🚒
I agree with the moth into flame comment. That was the track that had me like “ yep metallicas back “
love the disposable heroes cover at the end 😭😭 this was such a fun reaction to watch since you guys know metallica pretty well & it’s great that you guys loved the new song! but yes def show jamie some of met’s older music, it’s too good
Oh, he's gonna see plenty of Metallica!
The lyrics are about concert going as a collective experience and music being the eternal light
I've been a Metallica fan since, well, Kill 'em All. I saw them in a SF club on that tour. But the first big concert was Day on the Green '85 and Dec '85 at the Memorial Auditorium, Sacramento, CA....my home town.

Song is a letter to the Metallica family. All generations one unified. Like battery. It’s about the fans.
Justice For All was badass album
I'm with Jaime.....I've never heard Metallica either. lol. I don't think I have ever seen Greg so stoked over a song or an album! lol. He looks like a kid on Christmas....🎄🧑🏼🎄 This is funny.....Jaime has the same look on his face that Greg gets ...when Bill & Jaime are talking about HH! 🤔🙄😂😂
Tune Rules! Love the lyrics!
Let's goooo!
Yes! Make it a series introducing Jaime to old Metallica! It’d be cool to watch and there’d be so much content for that haha
I don't need bass on and justice for all, it's perfect.
Lux Aeterna means Eternal Light in Latin and is actually pronounced "Lukes A-tearna". They simplified the pronunciation for the masses. 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
YES please Master of Puppets give him the gift as he has given us the gift of his rap wisdom. One of the bests reactions I’ve watched so far, and I’ve watched a lot of reactions.
🤜🤛
Very Hit The Lights… freaking loving this new song
Overkill met Hit The Lights one night at the Whiskey A Go Go....one thing led to another...
Metallica has been putting out bad ass music for 40 years. Nobody was jamming to any music from the 40s when Metallica started in the 80s.
Omg love your reaction to this. I am so excited to see Metallica next year x
lux aeterna = eternal light
Jamming Jamie.......you rock buddy!!
This is basically a 2022 version of 'Hit The Lights'. They are going back to singing about metal / headbangers and avoiding all the political stuff which is a welcome change imo. 10/10.
You do a Jamie reacts to Metallica , I am here for it 100%

Why does everyone hate on St. Anger? I ROCK out to that ish! I love it. I mean, the old is the best. But, St. Anger is bad azz!
Pure Carnage 😝 FooookiT
Can not wait your reaction to shadow follow 🤔
Papa Het is about the only singer whos voice gets better as he ages
Guys, where did the video with the reaction to Korn: "Worst is on its way"??? It's fucking awesome
If you wish to react to something you might not have heard of, I would say Aesthetic Perfection with Gods & Gold
Hi guys! I see a lot of requests for I Will or Lucky You when you hit 40k. Both are fire, so I wouldn't mind that. So if Psychopath Killer doesn't make the cut. What about 45K?!? 🤷 And Justice for All is my favorite Metallic album.

I said it before and I'll say it again, Metallica is the Eminem of metal and vice-versa, SO so many parallels.
Cool reaction 🤘🏻

Ok...it's time for some Rammstein! Check out their last one ua-cam.com/video/skl6N3zGv-s/v-deo.html
He's describing going to a concert, getting rid of all your baggage and just let go at a concert!
