So just a heads up here. The dd+ has the most detail ive ever felt in a wheelbase dont listen to the noise. If you are in the US thw texas warehouse is up fully running now. I got my package within 48hours of purchase with overnight shipping. This wheelbase blew my mind its whooping on my simagic 20nm wheelbase and yes ita stronger. The dd+ is more like 22 to 25nm peak and its 15nm holding torque it competes with all of the best most expensive units. Its hard to explain until you feel it. Its truely mind blowing. It doesnt even need full force i almost feel like full force msy be to much detail haha. I cant imsgine more detail. If fanstec works everything out they have another game changing product on there hands. So yeah test it out yall will love it. Its a pc monster and def overkill for ps5 but still so worth it.
Edit: simagic is better, my initial impressions were great on the dd+ but it cannot compete with siamgics loading/unloading feel. Edge of grip and snap. The speed of the corrections and the way the suspension and tires feel is unbeatable. It's the best feeling wheelbase ive ever used.
Do you think its worth getting the DD+ over the regular 12nm holding torque one for the extra 200eur, I don't need PS support I feel thats what you are paying mostrly for when going for the DD+? The 12nm should compare to 15-18nm bases form other brands.
@oroborus2063 Absolutely. Its like getting the boost kit for the 5nm. It feels much more then just 3nm. Because its peak is higher. Its more like 20nm peak qnd 15nm holding torque. plus you can just tell the motor was made for 15nm holding torque not 12nm. Full potential matters to me alot. @

@danngr1881 @danngr1881 it's so good right? Like they made some crack here haha. It is legit identical to the asetek in feel and that's without the full force feature which imo it doesn't even need. Just a nice cherry on top for when It releases later. Also seems like this batch of dd/dd+ are super good not the issues that first batch had

I'm coming from dd2 to CS DD. For me much better as my old DD2. Incredible FFB effects and more realistic!!

Yup i upgraded from an 8nm GT DD Pro to a GT DD X and I agree with everything you said. It's not just about the overall power, it's about the detail for me. I can't see myself needing to upgrade this wheelbase for a very long time if ever. It's just amazing FFB in every single game/ sim I try it with. Now that all the disconnect problems are resolved for me, it's just about perfect.

I'm a PS5 console player at the moment. Right now, I'm only playing GT7 & ACC with a controller. I was considering the DD+ but decided on getting the GT DD pro 8NM package with CSL pedals since this will be my first sim racing rig. Along with a Playseat Trophy. I figured let me start mid level, and if I like it. I will treat myself in October for my birthday or in December for Christmas. Thanks for this information to help me lean even more into getting the DD+ down the line.
If your only playing on PS5, you'll love the DD Pro, it will be great especially for your first wheel. If, later you want to do PC racing, I'd then recommend something like a DD Plus.
I'm in the same boat. What I didn't like about the gt dd+ package was the wheel quick disconnect (qd). The concensus seems to be the qd doesn't handle any power over 10nm well. Ordered the gt pro and think it will be plenty for my ps5 use.
@BrokerLower what's a qd? You mean plastic qr2? Also it is a waste, if your only using any wheelbase for only gt7 or acc on ps5. The force feedback of pc sims is way better than console. If your only using playstation, probably only need the dd pro.

I been testing the dd plus against the podium dd1 (ps4/5 version) I wasn’t expecting this, but the dd plus is better than the podium, and I love my podium and no not placebo effect here. I have 2 rigs set up so I can go back and forth. Dd plus just seems a tad more responsive, much stronger vibrations/haptics, much smoother ffb, overall better experience, slides are much more obvious before they happen, and full force in the future, it’s the best console compatible base right now, Xbox,ps,pc.
That’s what this is for. It’s 5+ year new tech. The entire point was to replace the podium series in quality. And soon here they’ll have a podium series to replace the CS DD’s
Been telling everyone this, the details are better and the constant torque is better. It hits higher peaks also then 15nm but the weight feel is better wirh the more details.
You wanna know what really makes it better? Something that fanatec doesn't put on the site. It's slew is 6+nm/ms which means it's 2x as fast as the podiums. Yes both dd1 and dd2 which are only 3nm/ms. So no it's def not placebo the delivery is faster and it feels as strong pure force as the dd1. But can hold said torque longer.
AMS2 with that new wheel base must be amazing..
I have the CSL DD, and AMS2's FFB is my favorite sofar.
You should also try rfactor 2 and lemans ultimate for real weight feeling, even with the csl dd.
@aubreycolemanracing Rfactor2 100% has a nice FFB it definitely leaves that impression that there's rubber at the end of my wheel base. I tried LMU, but unfortunately, it left me disappointed... it reminded me of Forzas FFB 0.o
For me the Sim that has that unique feel of weight transfer from left to right is gonna be R3E.
If R3E and RF2 can mix and have a baby nee FFB code ... that would be amazing.
@@aubreycolemanracing The FFB in rFactor 2 is so good it made me doubt i needed to upgrade from my DD Pro 8NM.
Its more than a want than a need going to a DD+ from a DD Pro, but im going for the DD+ and keeping the DD Pro as a spare base.
The DD+ wont make me faster but the more immersion the more fun.
More fun will make me race even more which could make me faster in the long run. Thanks for the video 🙂

Great video, just for your own information, dont try to power off the base while it is booting up, it can get bricked ( some units have this hardware/software problem and you will be locked out of using the wheel until it is RMA'd ). Ran into this issue my self, and fanatec's costumer support being absolute garbage as of today ( no info about the problem, no confirmation that it will even get replaced ... ), i dont recommend trying it out.
I tested yesterday the difference from DD pro vs. DD+. I can say the + is way better. Not only the torque, its the constant torque from the + base. Much better then the Pro. I today ordered the DD+. The DD Extreme wheel i didnt like.

Get the GT NEO with the Leoxz QR2 adapter, it is the b3st combo out there. That wheel is amazing paired with the DD+

I understand that the Febr 2024 GT7 update did dial the Torque sensation down, so double check your in game settings after the update, if you feel less torque
That's exactly what it is gt7 messed up there game big time.
I had the DD Pro 8nm and went to the DD+. Only racing on Ps5. For me, the DD+ is way to strong. In game I have it around 50% on ACC and F1 23 (Fanatec settings I left on 100%), that is really strong enough. I think, If I bought the QR2 for the DD Pro, that would have been enough for me. But for now, sold my DD Pro and happy with the DD+, lots of headroom and waiting for FullForce. My tip: If you have the CSL DD 8nm/DD Pro 8nm, try first with QR2 and if that is not enough of changes, then you can upgrade to Clubsport DD/DD+. Funny thing: I have my Clubsport DD+ on a Reinforced Playseat Challenge and works without flex
How does the QR2 upgrade make any difference? Just curious.

@@jcadvanced I doubt the QR2 will make a noticeable difference, but theoretically it has a bit less play, but I just did a quick check and the QR1 with the bolt is solid. If I was buying new I would buy the QR2 but I haven't been able to justify expense of changing to the QR2. If you have a lot of wheels and change them often though QR2 would be a no brainer.
I was interested in this video as I had thought about upgrading, but it's a lot of cash and I'm still blown away by the DD Pro I use for GT7, Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2 and 8nm is still very respectable and plenty of force. If I'm somewhere I can have a try, maybe I'll change my mind
I’m planning the same setup for myself. Would love to see a short video/some pictures of your setup. It’s quite hard to come by someone with experience in using the Mix of PlaySeat Challenge and a DD+ or simulator. Please kind sir ☺️

Thanks for this, also considering the DD+ but it would cost me about as much as what I would pay going for Simagic Alpha+NeoGT wheel after selling my Fanatec stuff. Hard choice.

If you have fanatec wheels, maybe get the dd plus. Can't comment on simagic, never owed.

Small bit of constructive criticism, write out your voice over comment beforehand, so as not to repeat some things so often. It will make for a much cleaner, structured video where you don’t feel the need to fast forward some bits. (Example, in the first nine minutes you repeat the point about torque vs fidelity like 5 times). I think it will get you more views and subs.

I depends on your monitor your using, how far away you are from it. You can use thus fov calculator, and I think I just increased thr fov a little bit more. dinex86.github.io/FOV-Calculator/
Thanks I used the fov calculator I have 32inch screen 65cm away and it calculates fov 32 which seems way to close so I have ended up at 53 just wondering what height distance and pitch you was using
@stephenadams5538 I usually set pitch to 0, and just set you height to your liking, also depends on what you monitor height is. It's best to use fov calculator then everything else set to your liking. Sometimes it's best not to listen to the fov police!🤣
I am quite pissed at this in-between clearly proper 12nm that is basicly the standard force that most 20nm+ DD owners use.
It was 12nm to 15nm.
I bought my CSL DD Pro last March for the price of this new 12nm DD.
Had I known a few months later a 12nm base would be dropped I would have definitely bought that hands down.
This being said I am looking to buy the DD1 or DD2 for the same price with more than enough force than this 12nm one.
To me 8nm is better than the T300 and T150 TM I started with but the CSL DD pro 8nm loses FFB with the larger nascar wheel and podium hub.
Side note---They had every one buy the round metal QRs for $100+ dollars and now they designed a better QR for ease of use and strength and are forcing you to drop $100 a pop for all your fanatec eco system wheels. So figure your GT3/prototype rim McLaren rim✔️, F1 Clubsport V.2.5 formula rim, and your round Nascar wheel and the other odd rims you have so let's say 4 to be reasonable.
Drop $800 on the base and $400 of the new quick releases.
So they just bent over every loyal Fanatec customer and made us drink the drink at Puffys Flavor camp after midnight.

I’m not sure the gap is as big as people think.
Because going from a csl dd with a plastic qr to a dd+ with qr2 isn’t an accurate representation.
Iv upgraded my Gt dd pro to qr2 and the feeling is night and day. Way more fidelity and u can feel more what the car is doing now. More tire feeling etc.
The dd plus is a massive improvement from csl dd, or dd pro. I used the secure bolt on my csl dd, so no movement. But the overall feeling of the dd plus is night and day.

Where did you get the side clamps for your DD+?
They came with my Next Level GT Elite rig. It's the front and side mount.
I'm currently playing EA Sports WRC 23 on a 4 year old CSL Elite wheelbase. It mounts flat on a wooden Ricmotec sim and has the perfect wheel angle. I was admiring your beefy NLK adjustable side brackets, but can't find anything like them online. Could you please provide the name of the supplier? I think they will give adjustability to the DD+ flat bottom when I upgrade.

Difference in "feel" can be attributed to the new QR2 so I don't know how much can you attribute the feeling being better just with the new base
Upgraded to CSL DD from a CSW v2.5 base in Sept./21. On 7-15-24 I ordered a DD+ and 2-QR2 wheel sides and a QR2-C to upgrade my CSL DD. Received them 7/23. Drove for 2 hrs prior to changing my QR2-C on my CSL DD, using the QR1 with the Formula V2.5 wheel. Then I upgraded it using the QR2-C, and then drove for 2 hours on my newly QR2 upgraded Formula V2.5 wheel. No perceptible difference in fidelity between QR1 and QR2 on my CSL DD. I do/did use the bolt with Teflon tape to keep it from vibrating out for my QR1 wheels. Then I upgraded the software to 455 and installed my DD+. More fidelity and quicker response in the FFB on the DD+ as compared to the CSL DD. I also seem to be able to perceive the unweighting of the vehicle just prior to losing grip on the DD+ better than on the CSL DD.
Most won't think it's worth the extra $550 for the DD+ over the CSL DD, but that can be attributed to the quality of the CSL DD FFB. I'm happy with the upgrade, if only for the continuous FFB that you just don't feel in the CSL DD. I'm giving my CSW v2.5 to my 8-year-old grandson and keeping the CSL DD as a backup to the CS DD+.
@@anticommoncore4065 I have been pestering fanatec for 2 years now to implement a feature they said they were going to implement 4 years ago and still they say they won't implement it in this year or the next.
I don't know, if Im ever going to upgrade I will aim to leave fanatec ecosystem as fast as possible to something like simmagic or similar.
I feel like the CSL DD Pro loses FFB after 60 min or so.
I do not feel it getting hot ever but the ffb goes away and is not the same as I drive the same way for laps then the same feeling has me over driving the car and killing my stuff.
You can record PS5 via the share button, very easy. Records up to 4k and 60fps.
I need a capture card, as I'll need to edit it. I know about the ps5 recording.

They are saved as files on the PS5. You can edit them in the share factory or copy them to a USB from there as well and move it to the PC.

This or the DD1 podium base qr2 ? Cause both same value. Csl is 15nm consistent torque and dd1 is 20nm but peak torque
You won't be driving at 20nm anyway, also fanatec will implement "fullforce" which is like logitechs true force, which should greatly increase fidelity, when they release it.

Wait since when did the WRC wheel get limited to 8nm?!
I thought that was only if you used the supplied QR1 lite with the dimple on the quick release. But when you change it to a QR1 or QR2 it allows full torque
I'm told the wrc wheel is limited to 8nm with qr1 or 2. It can't take more force.

@gee.gee. It's because the wheel is mostly plastic, and won't stand up to 15nm.
I understand, just think it's ridiculous. Moza's xbox wheel is $129, works at any torque, and has a top notch QR (for free). Fanatec couldn't add a bit more metal for $5 and make it work up the line? I know I'm ranting, sorry.
Hi The Clubsport DD + Extreme wheel that comes with it does run at full power even though it has the QR2 lite from what I understand I'd check with Fanatec before buying a new round wheel.
Correct. Even with the QR2 Lite, it does output 15nm only on the DD+ Extreme. Very confusing for some, as for example with QR2 Lite on McLaren V2 wheel, it is limited to 8nm
@@giogamer4825 yeah very confusing also I got my wires crossed and thought Aubrey wheel base was the Extreme hence way I said about the wheel but on looking at the video again I released it was the Clubsport DD+. I've just upgraded to the Clubsport DD (12nm) from the CSL DD ok it's only an extra 4 nm's but the difference is really impressive.

I'm pretty sure, all the qr2's run full power, it's only if you run a csl wheel like the wrc wheel, it will only run 8nm max.
Will the dd+ fit same sidemounting as a dd1?
I'm not sure about the dd1, because the csl dd, and dd plus have the same rails with the t nut mounting. I think the dd1 has the side mount holes on the sides already? Should fit, but I'd do more homework on it.👍

They are just mountain bike gloves from a sport store called Decathlon. I don't want to wear racing gloves, I just wear them to save the wheel.🤣

Does your wheelbase make a whistling sound? I have the Clubsport DD and it makes a constant whistling/whining noise even when turned off :(
No mine is dead silent. Have you contacted fanatec? I've heard some people have coil whine.

@smokies_belgium I've heard people mention coil whine, it might be that, but normally coil whine happens on graphics cards when they have high quality components.
And fanatec and Logitech use a vibrating motor to and effects not haptic. You really need to learn what you’re talking about and the difference between the 2

You can set the dd+ to 70% and still feel more then the pro, the slew rate is also 6+nm/ms so it's faster and delivers everything quicker. It's holding torque is almost double that of the pro. Even turning it down makes it still feel a bit better. The pro is amazing for sure but it cannot compare to the dd+ the dd+ is the best wheelbase fanatec has made even better then the podiums even if the podiums are rated for higher peak torque it somehow doesn't feel stronger even at 20nm now the dd2 is a bit more powerful but not to noticeable due to the details out of the dd+ and its holding torque.
Huge upgrade feel more like 20 nm peak and 15 holding torque.
