- It's been a year with the Rollaerator! Here are my pro's and con's and why you should buy it for $350 😂 I mean... i'm with you guys on the price it's outrageous 😂😂😂 but the important thing is... does it make your lawn better and the answer is in the video 😊

Just exactly what I need and the last tool that I don't have for creating time efficient work. I pulled the trigger and made a purchase and after a couple of days I didn't receive a confirmation email or anything, I called Mike to confirm my order and since I live in a city in the Bay Area that he shared was one of his favorite cities we spoke for a good 30 minutes about yard stuff and positive delivery update. Thanks @YardBrah for posting the follow-up video and I am still happy with mine after over a year of owning it. I bought a double rotor model awhile back and it is very convenient. It took about 3 weeks to receive. I am in Dallas, TX with clay and compacted soil, and it is still very effective. It is not quite as effective as a gas powered areator with the clay, but it still works great and gets the job done. It works best when you roll it with just the right moisture in the soil, not too wet and not too dry. It pulls 1-3 inch cores and is a quick process for smaller yards. $350 is steep for the cost of the parts, but time is money, and this thing definitely saves time for smaller yards.

Bingo. My corona 2 prong step aerator takes forever and I almost got light headed once. That rolling version looks so easy, little effort. How often you aerating?

I made one for less than $15 of parts. I got the rotor from a friend's garage that lay these around. Thanks for the idea!! Note, this thing is very hard to go up hill. Lots of labor power. But on a flat, it's great!

@@YardBrah I did make it sound easy but there are some hard work behind. Tines - uses Electrical Conduit. $4 for a long tube. Handle / bar / 90 degree- PVC pipe 1 in, few bucks here. I later upgraded wheel bearing with literally a Car wheel bearing to fit onto PVC pipe to let rotor to spin super freely. This part took me a couple weeks to wait on ebay $5 if someone willing to dump. I probably could look for it in my friend shop's trash bin. I spent lots of work cutting electric conduit and drill holes on rotors to make tines to fit. Some do get bent up after hitting rocks. So I did make it sound too cheap but yes $350 probably worth the effort. Definitely use electric conduit to replace tines!!

I got one last fall. The double rotor version. I did 5k sq ft. It was some work but it paid for itself even just once. Would've cost the same to rent a machine

@@DirtygardenCA lmao, I believe they are smaller rotors but give it a bit more weight. It worked extremely well and my lawn exploded in the Spring

That is a pretty ingenious design. I would do way more aerating with one of those. That kid listening to that song must be a serious player in middle school right now🤣🤣 next week he’s going to roll by listening to Return of the Mac 🤣🤣

I believe the mail woman tracked dog poop and or pee on my lawn. The only area where she walks around the car to get to the mail box is like as if dogs have pissed. @@beachbro8559 oh no! If it's already dead I just sprayed it down, roughed up the dirt and re-seeded. It came back nicely as you can see after a while.... but if something like that happened to me now I would just use a pro plugger and fill the donor plugs with soil and seed them! Rather than wait forever for the urine to clear the soil get rid of the problem fast with the pro plugger 😊 🤙🏾🙏🏾
Would that work with more discs maybe two or three going to have to make one and find out would definitely use the side ejecting tines to stop the clogging.
He has one with 2 discs. 1 disc is perfect for my lawn it’s super irritated so more discs might make the rollaerator sink 😂😂😂😂😂😂funny I was just about to purchase some tines with the side discharge 😊🙌🏾🤙🏾
Are you leveling the lawn with Mason Sand? Trying to figure out how i'm going to level the backyard this year. Also love that this company is like 20 minutes from me, and maybe a minute or 2 from my mom lol
Yes mason sand and I ran out and used multipurpose had small rocks but not many! Mason sand and use some soil too it will help with the germination I had to wait forever for germination without a soil mix 😊🙏🏾🤙🏾🙌🏾

when first starting with a poorly maintained lawn bed/soil...thick clay / dry clay,, the weight of tool alone is not enough to penetrate the ground more than just 1/2 to 1 inch.

1/4 acre of Texas lawn here, do I need the double-disc or the single-disc version? Its iike only $10 difference. Do I want/need the extra weight given the soil + heat wave? I'm OK with a workout too, but then again, don't want to make it too heavy for no good reason..
Ahh heck went with the double disc, hope he ships fast (not looking promising, but then most of these comments are 6-12 months ago).

What's the benefits of using the 2 disk vs the 1 disk one? They both cost exactly the same.
The 2 disk version would be twice as heavy, so punches a hole more easily
I would get one but 5 of my neighbors rent a gas one for like 10.00. My neighbor is retired army and rents it on base.

I think they now have one with spikes that helps with that! The cores don’t really come out very well for me but I’ve seen it take out cores pretty well on other videos just depends 😊🤙🏾🙏🏾🔥

Same hapened to me but I got a full refund. And kinda glad I did some people don't even believe in aerating if you do whats necessary to your lawn. Idk time will tell. but at 350 I might have to strongly consider just buying a gas powered used one. SIgh, this lawn thing is very pricey .

it is sold in the US via a retail shop in Sacremento, but not sure it is made in the US..At least no proof here.

More or less 100 % of the brake rotors sold in the US, at in average extremely low price point like all the private brands from the main US-retailers like Autozone, O' Reilly, Napa etc are coming from China. Heavy, bulky, cheap, suffering also from same container crisis and lock down of chinese harbours and factories. Still profitable.. Great that he makes them himself under this condition !

I've been looking into that, the actual core pieces, cost about $10 a piece, but other than that, with a welder, easy, maybe a little tougher without. But an easy $100.
