    In my experience, the Landzie Hollow Tine manual aerator is the only one I have ever used that actually pulls good plugs and has lasted a couple years. I own a landscaping company and I use it on my clients properties in areas that a machine aerator cant get to, like in between stepping stones etc. Works great. I also now use the Green Scott hollow tine aerating lawn mower wheel that I put on my mower to aerate my yards, no more rentals.

    Appreciate the video and effort. Would have been nice to see at least a single core that came out of the Amick - even if you picked it up from the ground and showed it to us. I can see a core come out of the Step N Tilt, but I did not see a single core from the "BEST" of the group. WHAT?

    Great video and breakdown! I have a 2-prong manual core aerator which I love (6” depth) but takes about 7 hours to do my yard. The rolling aerator has peaked my interest but I’m worried it will only cooperate right after a rain.

      Nice!!! Yeah it’s has to be almost perfect dryish moist soil for it to be core aerating for sure 😊🤙🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾

    good luck buying one of those Amick aerators. in June 2024, he was only accepting western union, so I wired it to him and he had to refund the transfer because he hit some limit with western union and he said he can only do $30k of tranfers in a 90 day period, or something like that.. he also said he's not using paypal anymore due to "issues" which I think the issues are that he doesn't want to pay tax on all the money he's brining in on that awesome tool. oh well.

      I bought one during the same time period, went through the Western Union refund routine, and wound up paying with PayPal. I received the machine last week, and assembled and tested it yesterday. It works great, and I look forward to using it this fall. A bit expensive, but there's nothing like it on the market at this time.

    Which should I buy, the type with 4 spikes or one with 2 core aerator tubes, same design you step right over it.

      I don't know if you're ever fully aerated your entire lawn using a manual stick core aerator. But my 1,500 sq ft front lawn took me 16 hours to aerate each hole 2 inches apart properly. I also almost threw up, fainted, and collapsed. Was so dehydrated I drank a full 24 pack of bottled water and only peed once.
      You're going to want to get the RollAerator, trust me... I now know what true hell feels like. I used the Yard Butler Core Aerator stick. It does the job, but it's not meant to core aerate an entire yard. I'm keeping it just to core aerate patches that aren't growing anything to plant new seed in.

    Excellent and informative video on manual aerators. I would love to have that wheel but 200 is just more than I can afford. I am going to be stuck stamping and doing the hollow core aerator on my property. Fortunately just like I can't afford a $200 aerator I can't afford a yard that is too big. Haha keep up the great and informative as well as entertaining videos. I really do appreciate them and I know others do too. I know that because I've recommended your videos to other people.

    If you are not pulling plugs then you are kind of defeating the purpose of aeration and actually making your soil more compacted.

    • @wayneessar7489
      @wayneessar7489 3 роки тому +1

      Sandy and peaty soils are benefited by solid tining.
      Also if you want to aerate dry soils, solid tines or an aerovator that vibrates does excellent work.

    Straight up, my step aerator doesn't work as well as yours, even with my sprinklers going the night before, it's a pain to do my lawn and takes forever

  • @lew708
    @lew708 2 роки тому +1

    Does the Amick pull cores or does it just poke holes? Ugggghh…I was all in at 260 but I’m seeing it on EBay for 350…I’m getting for a fairly large yard and at 350, may as well get a 40 inch tow core aerator and hook it up to a sled vest, throw two cinder blocks on it and get a little workout in while covering a larger area.

    • @YardBrah
      @YardBrah  2 роки тому

      Your soil really has to be the perfect consistency for it to core aerate. My soil is very moist and watered in so it just makes large holes 😂😂😂

  • @JJTolentino77
    @JJTolentino77 2 роки тому +1

    what do you think of the aerator spike shoes? Bold for wearing white shoes on the lawn btw. lol

    • @YardBrah
      @YardBrah  2 роки тому +2

      haha old kicks = new mowing shoes lol! I retrofit some ebay aerator spikes with my boots... technically the tines are not thick enough, and the soil just goes back together since it's not really core aerating... but in the beginning of my lawncare journey I used them and the results were pretty good, better than nothing... if anything you are loosening up the soil for a bit to get some water air and nutrients in but the best is if you can core aerate so plugs come out... helps with absorption of nutrients water and air and prevents compaction longer than with just the spike shoes. Hope this helps!!!
