Don't run at a guy with a knife, have him feeling legitimately threatened, and just call it a prank. Run at a guy while wearing a gorilla suit being chased by a zookeeper with a net, and let him question reality itself for a moment. The best pranks are the ones that have people puzzled until the reveal, not afraid. Never afraid. Confuse, don't abuse.

My wife had the normal "Hahaha this is my husband sorry" he immediately apologized and offered us drinks. I just laughed and jokingly said, "you can have her man. I'm outta here" and made an exaggerated motion to leave. She yanked me by my collar and said, "Oh no you don't! You need to finish your shots!" We all wound up hanging out at the bar and then playing some pool while sobering up. That was over 6 years ago. We have moved away, but the guy wound up one of my best gaming bros and marrying one of our GTA friends. Their rages during heists are beyond hilarious. even better now that they are married...

Back in the day, there was a UA-camr named Tyrone that would go up to random people and yell that he’s going to f**k their girlfriends/wives in order to get a reaction. Most people yelled at him or tried to fight him, some even pulled out knives on him. It came to ahead when one time, in Texas, he was shot in the chest 3 times when he went onto someone’s property doing his usual antics. Luckily for him, he survived.
