- Another job on the list, seriously cloudy headlights.
I had this kit lying around in the garage unused from a previous job where I ended up just replacing the headlights.
Didn't know if it would be man enough for the job...

I did the same thing with a tin of 'Silvo' metal polish I had lying about and a soft cloth; came up really well.

I bought a 51 reg Clio several years ago with hazy yellowish headlights. I watched several UA-cam videos using different methods of cleaning. The kits seemed to be quite expensive and long drawn out, I had a tube of Autosol metal & chrome polish. I applied the polish on one light with a soft dry cloth in a circular motion. The polish was left to dry on the first light while I used the same method on the second light. Then buffed up both lights with a clean dry cloth. This took only 5 minutes to do both lights. I use this method each year before the MOT and it flies through every time.
my 52 plate Clio had been suffering from classic Clio cataract in it's headlamps, my housemate used some wood abrasion compound, along with hot soapy water, micro fibre clothes, and some after spray sealant, with his drill and buffering circular buffers, 45 mins later, both of the headlamps are damn near almost looking brand new again, and mine were pretty clouded up, not as bad as these ones, but certainly enough to fail an MOT, it barely got through the last one after some intense scrubbing, the difference it makes to the overall look of the car is astonishing, and the actual light output, it's literally like night and day
The MOT for this Clio will be up in the winter and I'm thinking I will be doing a another pass with a drill kit. The discolouration has returned in the sun although its nowhere near as bad as before.
hi, good demonstration on how to use this type of kit,. I tried to resolve the same issue on my daughters 53 plate Clio, but like you found, the haze was still there and it was still an MOT fail. Replaced them with a set of Chinese made AM replacements £50 from a well known auction site, they arrived in 24 hrs & took just over an hour to fit and once adjusted the MOT was passed later the same day.
It looks a dam site better then it did. I think you have done a brilliant job, I'm not sure you would see much better with a drill kit

I have dust inside the headlight lens actually how to remove and clean it
If it really is inside the headlight it will probably be easier to buy a new one.

If you watch my rocker cover removal and refit videos you can see them in that. They are bolted to the inlet manifold.@@user-gw2lw1ov1r

ideal if using a excenter maschine, hub should be at least 6 to 8mm
