Very interesting of the way a serious company tackles these cars in terms of timing, planning, expertise and execution in relation to the way an individual would do !
Great video! Was searching for F30 track builds on the internet, but it's not a lot of them out there. Would be interesting to see more about cooling, suspension, brakes, tires, seats and overall setup for the ring.
Sure, get new injectors all 4, change oil every 10k street driving and use 5w30 or 5w40. If chain is not changed - change ir with all sliders and tensioners.
How do you guys feel about the f30 chassis and platform. I have a 340i I’ve been building up over the last year and I’ve done 5-6 track days. Does suprisingly well. But is there enough room for it to compete with cars like the M2, ZL1 1LE, Supra and many more which are all dropping in price now? Considering building a dedicated track car out of one of those instead now.
Hi Taz! Underneath f30, supra, f80 or m2 is the same car and parts can be changed between, specially now when M cars suspensions are pretty cheap to buy. So it makes F30 a very competetive and both good valued base. B58 is powerful too to compete with s55. If you have already f30, already started building it and using it in the track - just keep going. All mentioned cars won’t be a big leap anyway from 340i.
Are these the 340mm brakes or the 370mm brakes on the 328i. I'm considering to put the 340mm brakes would that be a good upgrade to the brakes from standard or not?
Rental companies should NOT purchase cars with sunroof. When the car is rolling over in an accident, then the arms of the passengers come out of the sunroof. I have seen it. The welded sunroofs come out. A car without a sunroof is much more safer for the passengers. Welding the sunroof does not help, when the car is rolling over
Hi! I totally agree with you that cars with sunroofs shouldn’t be on the race track, and just welding some plate on top is not ideal too and a lot of work to make it nice. Please check my next video about rollcages. There you will see how sunroof issue was sorted - complete top panel was changed from original spot welding points. So now these both f30 are equally same to non-sunroof ones.

Thanks! Will do!
Im in the same boat as you brother im tryin to make one good but damn
Thanks, super-interesting
Drove one of your cars at the ring last summer. Great setup, had a blast.
Glad you enjoyed it!
For removing sound deadening from floor panels use dry ice and a rubber mallet. The easiest way! 😉
Chris Fix style
Its too new car for this method so it most of the time does not work.. but blowtorch and plastic scraper works every time especially with german cars!
I am wishing luck to find dry ice in villages of Nurburgring :D Heat gun is quick and easy option, which is always available and easy to do.
Nice video explaining some things! Do you replace all of the arms and bushes with oem ones or adjustable arms and polybushed? thanks
OEM, no poly bushings in our cars.
@@Ringfreaks awesome, thanks! I'm trying to find a nice f30 30d here to build a little and bring to the ring
Great video! I'm wondering how did you guys solve the oil starving problem with the n20/n26 engine?
We didn't do anything in the oil pan. But we are running oil cooling system in these engines and always maximum level of oil. So far no problems.
Hello Ignas! Maybe you have some maintenance tips/recommendations for daily driving N20/n26?
Sure, get new injectors all 4, change oil every 10k street driving and use 5w30 or 5w40. If chain is not changed - change ir with all sliders and tensioners.
Have you guys ever done a tuned diesel version?
Diesels do not belong in the race track :)) So answer would be no
@@Ringfreaks because they would be faster than those limp wristed gas piston

These are 340mm fronts, 100% a good upgrade! And even some R17 rims will still fit
what coilovers do you use?
BC
BC - but with different spring rates and revalved for the Nordschleife.
@@Ringfreaks how/why are they revalved for the NS?
