Totally agreed with the AC vs no AC argument. I think you need to be calm, cool and collected not hot and bothered while driving in general let alone track driving. I must say thid is a damn fine build. Looks great.
You’re losing oil pressure badly on quick transitions and some turns! I had that occasionally in my S54 even with its OE baffled sump, usually running oil level 1 extra litre over full on track is enough to help or solve it. Awesome car though!!
Love the camera angle. I like to see how the painters paint. The car really seemed easy to control, good driving and car set up was on point even without ABS. Very good🤙
Nice tracktool, like you've said Misha weigjt saving of aircon removal is a bit pointless with no real races to be driven. The owner want's alot of tracktime. Keeping your head cool should be a priority then :)
Yeah but on the other hand a 20 years old a/c compressor would probably die at 7000rpm thats why I took it out + its 20kg of saving +you have better water cooling getting rid of the ac radiator so there is plenty of pros :)
@@FASTFAMILY To each their own, I understand your reasoning for doing it this way. In my case a working AC would be top priority, after lubrication and cooling mods/fixes.
I've said that about heat for a long time. It gets hot here in Texas. I often wear shorts and tshirts when on track. Some folks have given me grief about not being "fire safe". My opinion is, at least in non-caged car, that I'm at more risk getting hot, having heat stroke, etc than catching fire. Could be wrong, of course. I did keep the AC in my track car :)
Love the car, but from a fellow 330ci track car guy, wish he would be proud of the 330. M3 is just the tuner brand.... we tune our own! Love the video as always
Funny, I feel the same way as the owner. Need a Ring tool now. Great project, great video. Is the e92 330i would not be a good base? 130i? 135i? 335i?. Thanks :)
For seattime 330i/130i is your best pick, turbos are just a liability if you don't have 5k on hand in case of issues. Also sedan is close in weight to coupe, pick cheaper option rather than looks, in case you bin it.
Not sure plastic windows are allowed in my country, but nice car overall. Lol, by watching the second lap i said to myself it’s missing a sixth gear, and in the first lap it looks like you were searching for it as well…
Recently bought 330 E36 and cant wait to try it at the local track. Needs a little bit of work, but will improve over time. Even in stock form the engine pulls quite well, or atleast feels decent to me.
This is the best car video for a while! I’m not a biased e46 loving idiot who spends all his money on a 20year old money pit or two 👀🤭 Hope to see you all soon when travel restrictions are a bit more relaxed, much love ✌️
My only issue with the camera was its placement. If it had been mounted a few inches lower 1/3 of the frontal vision wouldn’t have been obscured. Otherwise, no complaints. People need to do it themselves if they expect everything to be perfect on a free video. (EDIT:) the 2nd lap was great, hopefully you didn’t need a change of clothes afterwards!
All that weight reduction work and no question about the weight 😐 my guess is 1300 with full tank but I wonder if it can reach 1250 or even less. Would be really cool to know.

I never managed to get used to that, well... mainly because I'm used to slow cars, but slow cars with torque, but the M50 engines seem to come in larger volumes, does it help with bottom end power?
that should be a M54B30 engine with a M50 intake Manifold, if the facts are right. 330i means Facelift (M54 engines), the biggest engine in the pre-facelift was the M52B28TU = 328i. The M50 Intake manifold is useful for both M52 and M54 engines as it increases air flow and is almost a bolt on.
E46 such a capable chasis of bmw na inline 6s s54 looses the least power from age by far some high mileage stillness putting 300 to the wheel stock , compared to s50 from evo 2 e36 with almost same horse power but i seen some high mileage one making as little as 200 to the wheels , it could be because of engine specific ware and tear issues that were improved going from s50 to s54 both good engines nevertheless
