Dang dude! That’s unlucky! But out of all the people this could have happened to, you are probably the most qualified person on earth to take an F30 apart 😅
BACK TO THE ROOTS!!! I love it! No fancy lift (that none of us have), no fancy Dyno (that none of us have) just good ol fashion wrenching in the driveway. Man I miss the old days of Kies. 🙂Kudos for trying to save the 328. Not sure about that haircut though. LOL
I don’t what I laughed at more, you punching yourself in the face or getting the car started and you continue to work outside in the cold rain?! 😅 glad you found the issue and I am loving the VW Bus in the garage!
I just got some cable I had laying around, CAT 6 Ethernet cable. I gently pushed it down the drain hole until it got caught, then worked it back and forth until it passed. Took less than 30 mins to clean 4 drain holes. Tested after by getting a jug of water and pouring it into the water channel around the sunroof while open to check draining.
Pro-Tips: For the trunk release cable, when you disconnect the battery and need to close your trunk, add an extension wire into the back seat...just in case. Whenever you get your roof wrapped (carbon fiber vinyl) or the roof repainted this may cause leaks in your headliner. There are three sources: the sunroof seals, the shark fin antenna, and the roof rails. The roof rails are color matched strips on either side of the roof. There are rubber seals underneath the rails that help with drainage. The shark fin antenna is glued and sealed in place. I have a leak there after a CF roof wrap. It leaks thru to the courtesy lamp assembly, that also holds the third tail light and an electronic telematics unit (that includes a rechargable battery).
Missed these types of Kies videos, the high production stuff is great, but occasional return to this format is so nice Regarding the interior, use something like Autosmart Biobrisk or Gtechniq Triclean or another biocidic cleaner with a hot water wet vac extraction to clean and stop the damp- mould coming
Another fantastic vid mate! Can you release an unedit and more detail video on how to remove the headliner? Lol I want to do that to my F30 and spray it black but there are no video on UA-cam showing you to remove the headliner
Just thinking, can you not just blast air in the drainage pipe holes at the doors to clean them? Easier to reach and you can do it several times a year just to be safe? I’ve a f31 with sunroof so this video is a good warning, thnx for sharing.
@@michaelbazan4350 I haven’t tried it yet. After watching this videoclip I did check my “tray” as Bryan calls it in the videoclip at 12:22 after an intensive wash program at the carwash and luckily it was empty straight after it. Did you check the “tray” to see if it’s full of standing water? Or fill it with a water bottle like Bryan did to check if it runs empty. In your case I would definitely try it if you see standing water, taking out the interior can always be the next radical step in case of no good results right? You can’t really brake it if it’s already broken by trying it (blowing off one of the drainage rubbers results in also removing the interior). If that’s not the solution/ problem then maybe it’s another issue like a leaking gps antenna rubber, had that problem with an Opel/ Vauxhall in the past. I’m no expert as Bryan is so don’t take my good intended advice as professional help. Hope it’s an easy fix, good luck! Ps would love to see some feedback from Bryan to hear if this is a 100% safe solution.
How are you so calm man, i took my dream wagon i finally purchased through the car wash, and the passenger footwell flooded, i don't even know where to start, it looks like it came from the polly filter , the cowl is also not sealed to weigh shield , any advice? Are you in florida
This vlog exemplifies why I've been . . . lurking? following? ok, maybe stalking this channel for some years. Through all the haircuts, and, now, truth to say, thinning hair (you should see mine), the editing, humour, and quality information is incomparable. My F30 is parked under a tree at the moment . . .
Be carefull with the compressed air into the tubes. In the A-Style there is also a connection. If you give it to much pressure it can pop of and you got some more rain in your car
I had the same issue with my car your roof drain is clogged. The drain is near the driver and passages side door after I clean it out never had that problem again
I have a stage 2 F30 N26. If you already own it, sure, but you will never really break 300 hp without dumping thousands of dollars into it. If I had to buy all over again, I would have got a 335 instead if possible but it is what it is.
This hurt to watch all the water flowing into the car and I am sorry this happened to you, but thanks for sharing and being informative so I can deal with it if it happens to my mine.
I've a lovely 2013 5 series m3 drove through flood waters, engine replaced, all new m3 breaks etc, car still isn't right ;( thankfully none got inside the car, that looks like a nightmare!
I guess the people who painted didn't reassemble properly. very unfortunate. park it inside next to a heater with the doors open for a couple days get as much of the water dried out as possible.
I remember when my 3rd gen TL had water ingress in this same way. It was about 15 yrs old at the time & had 217k miles. THAT'S when something like this should happen. I also live in South Jersey & the car was rarely garaged. Just built properly. Sorry, had to mention it. I'm not one of those idiots who thinks Honda/Acura is an apples to apples comparison to BMW (I drive a Benz now), but come on. This is a joke for something this new. Nathan from Nathan's BMW Workshop is 100% correct. Modern BMW's are far too fragile to be parked outside.

Was waiting on a Kies upload 🤜🏻🤛🏻
I won’t open my sunroof anymore after I watch this video. Thanks for showing us!
I don’t what I laughed at more, you punching yourself in the face or getting the car started and you continue to work outside in the cold rain?! 😅 glad you found the issue and I am loving the VW Bus in the garage!
My worst nightmare!... Thanks for making this video for us! Very informative!

1:22 Remote start for F30’s?? 👀🤔

Wow this sucks! You're so much calmer than I would be in this situation lol.
Bryan, you are the only person alive that would seem excited about your car flooding 😂 Great for all of us F30 enthusiasts also 😅
While the headliner is out , try sound deadening the headliner , might help in rainy season

“The only person who really liked it was bat man”🤣🤣🤣that had me dying
Thanks for sharing! Glad my M4 does not have a sunroof.

Did you ever find out if that works ? I just started having this problem and I only get a flood in the back right of my car.

I’ve taken my whole car apart and I never even knew where those drain things where 🤯
Shouldn’t the sunroof gasket keep water out to begin with? And you only need those drains when you have the sunroof open?

You should also check the door “sound canceling rubber cover the sealant can be off and some water can also make its way in the car that way too
what are the rims on this car? They look amazing!
have you tried driving it into a massive bowl of rice?
Is it possible to remove the Headliner of a F30 without damaging it and after tinting it in black put it back?

Bad weather good content😅
Be carefull with the compressed air into the tubes. In the A-Style there is also a connection. If you give it to much pressure it can pop of and you got some more rain in your car
Is the future project keyless entry?
Doesn’t the F30 have rear drains also?
This has happened to me before, this sucks so much
How did water get in the car in the first place?
Sounds like a good reason for an Alcantara headliner re-trim project. You are already halfway there…😎
That's why I always get cars with a solid roof "no sun roof"
I had the same issue with my car your roof drain is clogged. The drain is near the driver and passages side door after I clean it out never had that problem again
I’m looking at buying one with 148.000 miles and want to know if that warranty is on this one ulev ll pc on the under hood tag if you can help me
I would also renew the rubber seal around the sunroof glass…👍🏼
We missed this videos
Such a good attitude! I would be so upset! 😅
Maybe you should change the roof seals too…they shouldn’t be able to let all that water anyway
When will you post it?
my Benz too floted lol 😆 I get insurance money 💰 🤑 💸 🤣
Had this happen to our RAV4 last year.. not fun. Living in the woods without a garage is not without it's problems.
Can we see the f30 335i for a video haven’t seen it for a while
Rear seat hot tub retrofit 👌👌
Sorry, but this Video is so good 😄🙏🏻
What rims are those??
Check also rear water drain hoses…
That's insane and that shouldn't happen to a car that new..
5:52 😂 always wear safety 🥽 dope video F30 for the win 🏆
Is it worth modding a 328 to gain allot of power ?
I have a stage 2 F30 N26. If you already own it, sure, but you will never really break 300 hp without dumping thousands of dollars into it. If I had to buy all over again, I would have got a 335 instead if possible but it is what it is.
no just get a 335 f30 or b58 which is the better one to mod for 700hp
does he explain how the water actually got in his car other than light rain?
This hurt to watch all the water flowing into the car and I am sorry this happened to you, but thanks for sharing and being informative so I can deal with it if it happens to my mine.
Dude please do second part
I can't believe after all that water you discovered you had junk in your trunk.😁😂
I’m watching this video in absolute horror…I have an identical F30 (silver as yours) with a sunroof…and it’s raining outside😮!
One small thing and you have to take half the car apart. That's really unfortunate but also lucky no electrical damage was done to the car.
I've a lovely 2013 5 series m3 drove through flood waters, engine replaced, all new m3 breaks etc, car still isn't right ;( thankfully none got inside the car, that looks like a nightmare!
Matte black didn't look to bad tbh.
Are you batman ?
Strip the interior and make it a racer!
That's why I always buy cars without sunroof, always problems with that sht.
Damn.... My heart felt this.
Been there before....
I'm sorry dude
I wanna build my n20, just to 500hp. I don’t want anybody telling me to go get a damn 340 or so, I wanna build my 328 😌
I guess the people who painted didn't reassemble properly. very unfortunate. park it inside next to a heater with the doors open for a couple days get as much of the water dried out as possible.
Sasquatch sighting!!,
your drain for the sunroof is clogged
the audio is toast on this one :-/ Bottle that water and sell it as cologne btw
Whaddya goin to do with all junk, all that junk inside your trunk😂
That's probably one of the main reasons why I wouldn't get a car with a sunroof.. Hell no..
Junk in the trunk……😂😂
sorry, man! 😱😱
Holy........
Thanks for the video, but sorry about your car.
this is horrifying
WHERE IS YOUR HAIR

OMG 💦💦💦💦 😩
Wow that stinks 😔
