I have a request for a video.. I would like to see you all sit down and tell us about the history of the Larson Farm. To hear your grandpa tell things when he started farming and so on..
I agree heritage is a huge part of family farms and disgusting the heritage is good for the oldest and the youngest generations. Gives perspective as to what it was like and how it is. Also makes the older generation proud of the way it is because of them and makes the younger proud of maintaining the legacy.
Love from India, There are many things going on in organic farming and your grandpa witnessed the chemical era and experienced that. WE don't need hybrid production as mechanised farm started producing very high and hence production increased. Big Land was available in your Grandpa's period and now that is becoming limited due to mechanization. But since farming is more risky, farmers are reducing in number. Farmers will increase in next 20 years ... now its time to study and go for history lessons, the knowledge of propaganda and making people afraid is going on ... in this era the practical experience of Grandpa and your father is very important. A series of video can be produced with his interviews... you need to involve the farming culture ... the change in language in last 60-70 years ... change in customs and change in festivals ... change in demography of the environment will be large series of the videos... one planned video is a big book.... no need to plan but flow of the videos will give chance to next generation to learn many things.
@@Daton.B naaa farms if they have enough on will keep the good staff or mechanically able staff thru the winter. I used to work on a farm all year round, there were 5 of us, including the owner and his son during the winter and 22 in the summers. That Big Swede is a great employee. Not many people would do what he does for their employer. He deserves a good bonus when planting is done. Hard to find employee.
Remember too give Eric some paid days off this winter too make up for that. And maybe send him and his missus out for dinner . A little extra appreciation goes a long way. Thanks for sharing cause I love watching
Dougo…the Harry Potter ghosts…Dementors! Big Swede…you got heart my friend! Chet…you are so correct! Even the untrained eye can see the difference in the machinery used in that field! Get a towable type Tree Chipper, and turn the trees into Soil Amendments for the gumbo dirt. Make a Compost pile and let it break down the wood into more Topsoil. 8:22
I would praise the big swede for doing what it takes to get the job done. You may look a while to find an eqaul employee. Give him a raise when needed.
You got yourself a friend and a employee that most people dream About. Love to See how you guys get along. Nice to have friends like that. Keep up the good videos 👌
Interesting to see the comparison of the two tillage tools. Soil prep and management is a complicated science. Thank you, big Swede is a rock star in a Ford and prayers for Nikki, God bless.
Eric don't give up you can do it !! Never mind it just isn't worth an accident !! Good luck to all the farmers working long hours this spring !! Continued 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 for Niki and All
51 straight hours for me. 136 hours in 6 days. I know exactly how Eric feels. But he is right when the weather is nice and rain is coming need to stay and get the job done. So well done Eric. Thanks for sharing another great video be waiting for the next one
Great idea getting Mike Rowe to visit! Knowing his interest in getting young people to go into trades etc.. I think he'd be very interested in Chet's home school story. By the way Chet, your knowledge and work ethic, especially at a young age is unbelievable.
Thanks for the great video. Looks like you are getting some of the planting caught up from your comments on this video. You still have lots of acres to go but not as pushed as before. Eric has ground preparation caught up for the planters if I understand correctly. And now he finished spraying the corn ground so Dougo can go back to more planting. Busy times for everyone on the farm. The rock box you just got is going on the new tractor???? You folks go thru a lot of tractor fuel. How much fuel can you hold on the farm???? Tell Eric to get some sleep before he falls over. Thanks for the video. Was interesting. Thanks to Nicole for editing as always. We think of you always Nicole and trust you are feeling better all the time. Take care of yourself. My best to all the Larson’s during this busy time. You take care and be safe. Thanks. Iowa farm boy from years ago.
Journeyman Lineman here, I totally understand the long hours fellas when we work storms ice, tornado, hurricane, or fire out here in Cali the hours add up in a hurry. When your body wants to shut down it will whether you’re ready or not be safe out there.
Even though The Big Swede is a quiet person, you and instantly tell from when he first started talking in the video that he hasn't slept in a good while. Good job on his part for staying awake that long!
like to watch you channel and what you guys are doing, because of rainfall every day we are not planting seedpotatoes, so I can watch you guys, i did order a hoodie like 2 months ago, still not here in the netherlands, but it has been all around the U.S. i can see on the tracking, just like Dougo would say... Waiting!!!

I don’t know about the 40% but I know that a 100% of me is a subscriber. I worked maintenance/machinist at a large industrial company. We pulled maintenance on one line every 6 weeks and 24-30hrs was fairly common to get the line running again.
Chet I just gotta say, man you sure do love what you're doing and it shows.👍👍 All you guys please be careful, we need all our farmers to be safe.🙏🙏 Hi Nikki and thanks also to Amy for all the updates.

Man it's awesome to see you guys enjoy your work, get along, and actually WORK!!!! Love the content Chet. Wish you and your lovely wife all my best!!! From a ND farm boy!!!
Most of the things they do aren't really that dirty and disgusting compared to most of what Dirty Jobs does. It's a lot dirtier and smellier on livestock farms. Dougo and Merlin used to have hogs on the farm and I'm sure they agree that was a lot dirtier and smellier than growing crops.
Chet, I got my "Struggle Bus" shirt just this past Friday! Love it, love it! It kinda fits what my profession is also. I am a proud school bus driver! Thoroughly enjoy watching your channel!
I can go 3 days without sleep but im naturally hyper so that helps lol. Your brother is a hard worker and he did what farmers do with rain in the forecast keep going and get as much field work done before the rain comes.
3 sunrises is the most I have done, after which I passed out for 9 hours, went home, and slept another 18 hours. I had an ER doctor friend that would do 72 hour weekends, and would just pass out on the ER room's gurney. When the nurses needed him, he would pop up, wide awake and ready roll.
i don't know what you guys are like off camera all i can say is i like the way you treat each other on camera. The swede seems to be be laid back he has his shit together. Having had employees year ago i learned that they will always help you out if you need extra effort from them if you treat them right
Glad y'all are able to farm there...here in NW Ohio we haven't been able to get much done and it's going to be awhile before we do...heavy rain today...2-3 inches and hasn't stopped yet!
I can agree with what Doug said about you just fallen asleep at around 36 hours no control. Like was about 30 hours hours of no sleep and on my way to work in the morning I stopped at the lights and passed out. I didn’t even know that I did. 😂
Nikki great job, I loved the editing and music!! The Big Swede is definitely an employee to keep around! Another great video, we're lucky to have people like all of you in this country!!
That new Salford dirt machine tore up that standing corn stubble, pulverized it. Can see the extra tillage air put into the soil. Going to be interesting to see if yields are much more even across the Sulfer tillage and higher than the digger machine. Less horsepower and fuel to run the Salford?
Hi there - for me as a non farmer it would be great if you would maka a tutorial video about all the different tilliage machines u use and in what steps over the year you use them and for what purpuse .. or a video of all the steps during the whole year/ season of all machines .And if there is differenses between the different crops . Love watching and follow your hard work .

Yeah. I'm surprised he was still so happy and nice. 30h with no sleep = me grumpy.
