Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Anyone else see that repeat at 11:00 to 12:00 and thought they were having a stroke?
Haha, I thought I was too. Had to back up and be sure. Whew!
YES LOL!!!!
Just testing you!!! lol we have been having some serious computer issues lately and editing has been difficult!
Yes
@@MillennialFarmer winner winner chicken dinner! I’m enjoying your videos. I actually went to harvest with my cousin in Indiana last month because of watching your videos. I’ll be going back every year.
Filming the whole thing can’t make it any less frustrating. I appreciate your honesty and your efforts!
That's for sure lol. I almost gave up on the camera that day. Thankfully Becky saved it with some editing!!
@@MillennialFarmer that is wives are for to save your butt. Mine saves mine all the time!
@@MillennialFarmer wa whatttt???? this whes the best vidja in a while zach
As a farmer myself I am really impressed, that Zach still does record while all this happens. If this happened to me, there would be no video because of use of strong language haha
@@QuizmasterNr you dont need to censor yourself if you want to film. just capture the moment that's the art of it
Love the flags & patriotism. Zach, you and your family promote American values and America. Thanks brother.
the fact that he's mad and still gets the shot for you tube is amazing. he doesn't have to do this for us. if u see this I appreciate what you do to make us happy.
Thanks for watching!
@@MillennialFarmer yes thank you stay safe in what you do for us
Yeah most people would turn the camera off for these two days. This is yet another reason MF is top shelf material. We get the good days, the bad days, the "my kid has covid" days, the eating nasty candy with your niece days, and all the other stuff that goes with it - and the dogs duking it out every morning. It's as close to being there as I'll ever get sitting in my living room.
If my dad and I were frustrated over something you wouldn't be able to film our conversation. Hats off to you two, pretty awesome.
'Too determined to let it beat you and too stubborn to quit.'
The creed of every farmer
@Daniel Kintigh agreed. Plenty of times I threw things and walked away (only to come back and keep trying).
I feel for him as there is nothing worse than having the time pressure of nature hanging over your shoulders.
Very appreciative if the raw emotion shown in this one
Some days everything goes wrong. Go home early & stay later when it goes right. Don't torment yourself there's already plenty of that for free.
Also the air source might have enough flow but not enough pressure for the occasional clump to stall it.
It's the only bit left you haven't looked at !
Wish I was 40 years younger I would love to come and work on your farm Pete 👍
I'm not a farmer but oh brother, can I identify with those days when nothing goes right with equipment. Except when the mechanic comes out, then everything works perfect. Keep the faith Zack, tomorrow is a new day.
Well, at least he's got a video to show that he wasn't making it up.
J
We all have those days!! Grandpa always said:
"If you are not ready to quit once in awhile, you arent doing it right, or dont care enough!"
If it was easy everybody gonna farm
Love the video! To the 1% of people who read this along with the Millennials hope you guys stay safe and healthy! Keep it between the rows!!!! God bless all!
Hello MN
So the other 99% who read it can go to hell? Harsh.

@@josephpalm8558 - I know I was just making a joke. All the best to you.
Thanks for flying "Old Glory"! I love my country!
Its sometimes good that you show this side. Us farmers need to know we aren’t the only farmers having issues this year and it can lift my/our spirits when things aren’t good
Left you spirits? & that makes you feel better? I helped a cow farmer put some seasoned oak runners in his cattle trailer.. he bought spike nails.. think they were called 20 penny nails & 2 brand new wood handle claw hammer that weight at least 30 oz with meat grinder heads.. he used bar oil to grease way, I had driven a few nails, not without bending 1 or 2.. I was laying down on the lumber getting ready to drive another nail.. looking at that nail, I thought about how much it would hurt if I miss.. I'll be damned if I didn't miss that nail & come hard down my thumb.. I cry out with pain.. grasping my thumb.. painful enough I could have pass out.. the Farmer (Jene) what did he do? he busted out hard laughing his ass off, whole I layed there agony... he wasn't alarmed, he didn't console me or offered any help.. & he couldn't stop laughing.. how or why would a guy take so much pleasure in my pain... I figured it out.. it had happen to him as well.. & I guess he took some sadistic pleasure in knowing someone else was stupid as him.. I mean smashing your thumb like that... & that didn't stop the work either, we finished up that cattle trailer & called it a day.
I'm glad you are showing what is actually going on and not just a fluffed up video of how everything works as it should. Love the videos. Good job editing Becky.
Two videos over 20 minutes in a row? We are being spoiled here!! Love the videos. Keep up the good work😃
two?
@@RUNDNB85 he posted guess who has covid amd then this one
@@aidentroutman9188 ahh I thought you meant he posted two within 20 minutes, my bad.
Your dad’s patience was amazing. I can tell he doesn’t think discs should be part of your farm but he allows you to try it anyway
Burming or not, Old Glory looks like a million bucks! Thanks for flyin her like that! That's the kinda shit that we all joined up for in the first place! Semper Fi!
“I can’t even make it to the end of the field...to quit” LMAO
I’ve been there :(
😂😂 I can laugh now. It's been a few days
It's A Monday on a Monday
The convo between you and your dad on the phone was the thing for me. Nothing worse than giving the old man bad news but it sounded like he supported you and talked you through a melt down. Keep it between the rows Zac
Forget the fact your father is a encyclopedia..his demeanor is just so amazing he looks and sounds so relaxed you probably cant find a nicer guy then your father wow what a treasure
God Bless the older, wiser men that have the patience to let the next generation figure things out for themselves. When you allow someone to figure things out for themselves they take ownership of the work they do.
This is the best comment I have ever seen
On the other hand why bother relearning what past generations learned when you can progress on their experience
One of those FUN days at work. At least there were 207 commercials in your 39 min video to break up the bad luck
I'm going to guess that the storm you where cussin' up was edited out by Becky LOL
The power of a good wife. Invaluable!!!
This is what life looks like. Thanks for showing days like this, plus life in general. Great channel, one hell of a family you have.
I've been watching you for a couple of years or more, and this is by far the most frustrated I've ever seen you.
I hope things work better for you the next day.
You have a good father with the amount of patience he has. That phone call says a lot. Some old farmers would of raised hell about waisted time.
Man I love that you hang old glory on everything before you put it out in the field! Goosebumps everytime! God bless!
This video is a prime example of why MN Millennial Farmer has and delivers some of the best social influencer content going. Keep it between the rows.
I appreciate you showing folks the difficulty’s of farming
Finally, a video that accurately depicts my memories of growing up farming. Every single piece of equipment fighting you tooth and nail, time slipping by faster than you can afford to lose and the rest of the world thinking farming is so easy being your own boss and setting your own hours. Little do they realize the hours are 24/7 and the stress is non-stop. Hang in there, this too shall pass!
I love that you are showing the real deal and how you are putting up with it! Great job on keeping it reasonable calm and getting to the point that results are better.
Some of the best farm videos on UA-cam. I learn something new every video.
There's NEVER a dull moment in a framers life!
The struggle was real in this vid! Keep you’re head up you farmers are keeping this country going! Thanks for all you do for us Zach!! 🇺🇸
I just wanted once again Wanted to tell you how terrific your videos are, you do a fantastic job. Love watching your videos and the times I’ve seen your family as well. And think you have a neat dad and Jim your worker. Where you live is beautiful and you’re so blessedHaving a farm and being a farmer. What would we do without you, we couldn’t. We Americans are blessed all of you are willing to farm. Thank you and keep looking up you don’t want to miss anything.
Hang in there, Zack. Gotta have a few rough days to appreciate the good ones.
It's those bad days that make you appreciate all the good days.
Thank you for showing the frustration, disappointment, and aggravation that farmers deal with. Not a farmer personally but i know many people that still think farmers have things easy. Not everyday is like this, but just like everyone else farmers have bad days.
Keep going Zach. Remember each day a little potash shall fall...or not. Thanks for sharing reality on the farm with us.
We all have days like that, I can’t imagine what it’s like having a camera in your face and being willing to share it with the world. Hold strong, you are not alone.
Glad to see you flying “ole glory” ! I know your frustrated. Don’t beat yourself up.
Zach, a huge kudos to you for making a video of when things don't go the way you want them to. Anyone who farms, or really any occupation but particularly farming, knows about those days. And it seems like when it rains it pours. I admire your ability to keep calm and keep trying to figure it out. If it was me having those problems and you gave me a 16lb sledge hammer I wouldn't have used it on the closing wheels. There would be no windows left in the cab of that 8RX. Well maybe not but there'd certainly be a lot of bleeps in the video footage. As always, I really enjoy your videos and keep up the excellent content!
You got this Zach! Don't let it defeat you!
"Im so frustrated" basically sums up the whole operation of running an air seeder 😂
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that’s had those days as a farmer as well.
Good evening everybody hope everybody had a great day.
Simp
Lol how
Appreciate it you 2 buddy may god bless ur day and give a u a 9rx
Frustrating that it was taking so long to get it to work. Glad you decided to share even the frustrating times on the farm
I’m not a farmer but you said: “I’ll be happy when harvest is over. Things will get easier”. I feel your pain.
With the exception of those videos of Onyx starting on the grain cart, your best video yet. Honest and real.
here in central iowa the guys that succeed with cover crops do it real early, in fact MANY of them will fly them on with an airplane into standing corn in august and september.
What I've seen was a combine with a seeder(i think it's called a disc spreader) on the back seeding cover crop directly during harvest.
Probably a lot cheaper than flying with a plane
@@hazgebu And less likely to electricery too !
We actually did a trial up here in northeast Iowa seeding cover crop into v3-v5 corn. Was really impressed with the results.
Thanks again, Zach & Becky! Those RX tractors are so sweet! No, I'm not tired of you discussing problems. It's interesting watching you make 'em work!
I think everyone has days like this, especially when you are trying to beat the weather. Best of luck keeping your sanity.😁
Admire your patience and multitude of solutions tried. You got it now; SEND IT TOMORROW !
Everybody's watching the country tensions are high. Hope everybody had a great Monday things will get better.
Man if I had a day like that I would not have kept filming. It's good to show the frustration of farming though. Thanks for sharing, I really felt for you!
Sometimes, this is just how it goes. We get a really nice harvest season, but tillage is absolutely terrible.
This was hard to watch, not because of filmography or content but because I felt bad for the situation you're in! We appreciate the effort, for what its worth.
Sounds like farmin’ to me, 2 steps forward 3 back most of the time. In those times when it was tough like this or worse my dad would smile and say “isn’t farmin fun?” I miss that guy.
You are definitely showing the viewers the true life and struggles of life on the farm.
Keep up the hard work. I hope you and your family are all healthy and happy.
now this is the part of farming I find fascinating... how one deals with things that keep going sideways.
Farming is constantly about solving problems and getting frustrated. This video was all problems, I'm surprised not all the videos are like this ;)
The solution is easy, many adult beverages and a great burger...
Thank you Zach for showing the good and bad of farming and trying new things.
I can relate to your frustrations, cuz I feel the same thing having to watch all the ads in your videos.
Do you enjoy free content?
Get UA-cam premium then what are you complaint about
My Dad always says “ there is no such thing as a bad day, some are just better than others”.
Love the channel, keep up the good work.
...Perspective.. When the going gets tough, the Farmer keeps going.
There are definitely days like that. Makes you appreciate the good days more.
That’s some real world farming sir, it ain’t all drop it in the ground and go like hell. Keep your head up. I actually watched twice!
I can say one thing about Zach he is not a quitter. I hope the next post is the strip till cart train running perfectly.
How is Onyx doing? Hope he’s on his way to a full recovery!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
He's solid! Busy deer hunting every day 🤣

Awesome!!
Even on the bad days Zach is still positive and doing a great job balancing farming and UA-cam. Can't be easy but with all the stuff going on in the world its great to still have Millennial Farmer to watch and enjoy.
Hey Zack just to let you know at least you’re still in the field where I am in Canada there’s a foot of snow on the ground 😂😁
That's why we are the farmers the city folks don't understand be safe out there guys see you next time
The same clip was edited in twice lol
Happens to the best full-time cutters 😅
That's just how sticky it was!
Just like Brian Farm Videos haha
Reaffirming the same thought process.
Farming is hard. There is a lot going on here. Thanks for what you do.
"I couldn't make it to quit if I tried" Welcome to the life of a farmer!!! Usually only happens when you are trying to beat the weather. Hang in there Zach we are all counting on you!!
Watching the back part of this video I almost felt like I was working on the equipment with you
Been there
It hit me in the heart when Zack said “I’m gonna get shot if I waste anymore time” 😂
Major props to you for keeping the camera going to keep us viewers entertained! Thanks man! We’ve all had those “Wile E Coyote” days where everything you touch turns into dynamite and blows up on you! But I’m sure you’ll prevail!
Hope Onyx is doing well.
Dont forget to subtract the weight of the collection bag to get a more accurate weight of product.
That’s for micromanagement
Man, that's your best ever video Zack. I have so many times in 30 years of farming been where you are on this. The problems just rack up and you can't see a way through - and yet with hard work and some answered prayer there always is! Fight the good fight Zack. UK Farmer
“Everything’s so damn sticky...”
THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID!!!😁😁
Most realistic farming video ever.
everyone has one of those days, where everything is just extra rough
Jim is a good Beast! Patient and lovely
Seems like if a guy wanted to sell an implement he should spend the time with the farmer to make sure all is adjusted and working properly.
oh man, how frustrating!! people have no idea what goes into farming, thanks for showing the reality
I think every farmer watching feels your pain... i know i sure did....
Zach, hang in there buddy! You'll get it soon! I sucks to be that frustrated. I don't think I have ever seen you this worked up! Beers in the shop tonight! Good luck, hang in!
Advice from my father
“farming in the mud isn’t farming...it’s mudding” and it wrecks fields
“ Cover crops are feed for gophers. And gophers mine soil. Keep an eye on that hilltop”
Man I hate it for you. Keep going Zach. Whatever you do, just keep going. You'll get there.
It's like 11.30 in the evening here and I cant sleep while the clock goes off at 6.15 in the morning so here I am watching the millennial farmer😅🤣
Its 4am here and i cant sleep either, like you i find myself watching youtube.🙄
Your problems just made my day look better!
Like they say " When it rains...it Pours" 💯💯🙄🙄 we all been there a few times!!🇺🇸😂
I love watching your videos when things are going good and bad. Thanks for the extra work filming this for all to watch.
This my friend is: “What we've got here is failure to communicate.” (Cool Hand Luke)....
