Back in the late sixties, at 13,I was in the seat of a John deere 4020 with 5-16's. Plowed all day and into the dark. Best times of my life! Morris Illinois. Thanks
What is it about plowing videos that is so interesting to watch? My dad always plowed his garden to cover up all the grass clippings he out in it all summer. I think that’s why I enjoy these videos.
A guy has to love plowing. I am amazed there are no seagulls. I farm west of the twin cities in Minnesota and anytime we are doing tillage we have seagulls everywhere.
Mike, I don't know which was more pleasurable to the ear; the sweet mountain music or those turbocharged large-displacement diesels clawin' an' scratchin' pulling steel through soil.... Excellent video (again).
I think back when I was a kid in the 80s we had a 806 with a 4 bottom a 986 with a 4 bottom and a 1066 with a 5 bottom and some rare days we would have 656 with a 3 bottom. All plowing at max speed of 3 miles per hour. That one Delta tractor and plow gets more done than we all got done all day.
These Case rear tracked,m front wheel tractor are so awesome. If my long dead Uncle Dutch could see these working in the fields, I know he'd just laugh because in his farming world back 50's-60's, these tractors weren't possible ! His big tractor was an I-H F-20.
I grew up on a farm in central Indiana in the 70's and spent many hours doing this. Except I was on a JD 4440 with no cab. It had a white/orange umbrella over the seat and a corroded AM radio on the left fender. I was too short to reach the pedals and my uncle strapped a 30 lb bag of corn to the seat so I could reach! lol Many nights I could see my Aunt coming across the field in a pickup truck to make me come in. No joke, I was a workin' fool even back then. Liked and subbed
Wow that"S a huge property. Love the open space and view of the land. It reminds me of a movie scene in NORTH BY NORTHWEST WITH CARY GRANT ! ! ! Great looking video..Added it to my favorite list.
Mike, another good video from you and thanks for it. I'd like to see that Versatile pulling a French Gregoire-Besson 18 or 20 bottom rollover plow and it would mean less compaction of the headlands.
Back in the early 80"s here in greenville ohio worked for a big farmer Bill Mcowen , He had a 4786 IH turned up to about 550 hp and we pulled a custom dmi plow 14 bottom 16 inches wide , Was still way to much for it finally blew the transmission after about 120 hours of use .
It is pretty rare to see videos of farmers plowing fields these days in the US.Thanks, Mike, for sharing this video.. Happy subscriber 😊! Like 👍 is automatically a given.
@@fastsetinthewest no they would rather not have their entire field blow into the next County! I guarantee you that PhD behind your name is a lie because I seen multiple posts by you and every one of them you've proven to be a moron that has literally no idea what you're talking about! Style plowing is one of the absolute most destructive things you can do to your soil. First it tends to blow away but more then anything you kill off all your soil biodiversity by doing this!
At 2:11 you said'' If you like farmin, I think you're going to like this video'' That should be your new catchphrase haha. Although ''That is one good looking tractor and grain cart'' is the signature Mike Less line. Great video.
Great video! Love seeing that black dirt. 14 & 10 bottom plows, wow! I remember when I thought a bump from a 3 bottom to a 5 and 6 bottom was big jump. How the times and equipment has changed!
Back in the day I ploughed with a three furrow reversible mouldboard, a Kvernland pulled by a JD 3130. Not quite as fast as these big rigs 😂😂. Regards from Down Under.
Agricultural machinery is a driver for development, generating employment, income and value-added for the rural and urban areas, as well as the national and global economy.❤
Listening to cvt tractors like the Rowtrac revving up and down still is weird to me. We always kept the RPM up to keep the pyro down on our old equipment.
I have a Versatile Deltatrack driving around near me in central east Germany. I just recently found out that it is the one of the only, if not THE only Versatile in Germany, might even be the only one in Europe. When I saw it, it was pulling a Kverneland PW 100-12 12 bottom turning plow. Btw, are all Versatiles so insanely loud?
What causes the plow to jump up and down? My dad has a small farm however 90% of the grain planting was done either before I was too young to remember, different farm, or after I left home and was married so I'm not that familiar with plowing. We mostly did hogs and stuff like that when I was growing up.
Why do modern plows leave such an unclean furrow? Doesn't look like they go in very deep either. Back in the day where we plowed in Michigan, we sucked it down 10-12 inches and it left a perfectly clean furrow.
Surprised to see only those one sided plows in videos. Usually we have turning plows over here so you can drive the lanes up and down right next to eachother.
GMO corn means genetically modified, basically the seed companies can take genes from other plants and put it into the corn so that it has different attributes, such as drought tolerance, pest resistance, or just general increased yield. Non-GMO would lack these features but probably has a higher value due to Non-gmo marketing. Hope this helped!
Wonderful machine and equipments be blessed you're inspired.Glory to God.
Watching tractors plow is one of the most satisfying things in this world. Greetings from southern Germany.

Plowing is always so satisfying, when you look back you can really see what you did.
It depends on the mess you're making.
Thanks, I thought moldboard plowing was totally gone, disabled arm vet from 80’s used to help during high school always fun.
I love seeing plowing videos. I used to molboard every year

Beautiful black dirt there.
Moldboard plowing is cool👍😉 seeing different tractor brand at work is very nice😁👍

Great video Mike, old school moldboard plowing love it we still plow our few acres of food plots, keep em coming Mike
Amazes me how people maneuver with these huge implements. Watching thousands of years of knowledge with every pass is just incredible.
It's actually pretty easy especially with newer equipment, I did it big time from 83s to 2000 +.
Most are now GPS, computer guided. "Look ma! No hands."
I like to watch a tractor plow a field. It's a fascinating sight. I love the smell of raw plowed land and burnt diesel fuel.
Me too lol
Nice to see someone who knows how to drive an on-land hitch.

We used an Oliver 1950 Detroit Diesel with front drive assist pulling a 8/16 plow on a Michigan farm near Lennon.
I remember the bang when the 720 IH reset after hitting a rock.
We pulled a 4 bottom with a D-19 and I thought that was it and forger cabs it was a heat houser let me tell ya it was still mighty cold
If we turned our soil in Alabama that wet, you could build a house with those clods. Excellent video and Beautiful dark soil! Thanks for sharing

looks like clayey and wet soil, ... little bit hard day to plow.
We've got 4 Chalangers running on our farm. Like them a lot. Tough as nails. 💪🏻

Watching from east central Alberta, Mike, I've always enjoyed your videos !
Hello! Plowing symphony!
I'm looking forward to the day when Mike shoots a video of a new Big Bud 700 out in the field pulling a 20 bottom rollover plow.
Well done my friend...your channel is #1 on my list .😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Mike, you need to go see Mike Mitchell up in Canada. And bring the biggest Versatile for him to put on some of the giant equipment he has
Great video.. so interesting to watch

Always enjoyed plowing

No till planting has taken over farming here in the Southeast
Spring plowing Southern Illinois
We still plow alot of ground. Two on land six bottoms and a 10. All case IH
How come they don't use reversible plows ?

There are some in france as well.
GREAT VIDEO BEST CH ON THE TUBE 😁😁📹📹
Do they have smaller ploughs for finishing the fields? Do they leave the furrows or attempt to fill them in when they are tilling?
我們的農田在翻土的時候,都會有一群鳥類聚集過來吃田裏土壤翻出來的蟲類,例如:蚯蚓。
你們的農場竟一隻鳥也沒有。真神奇🙂
Ahhh. I can almost smell it
Awesome video Mike!!!

I LOVED THE MOVIE MATE.
I was hoping For some headland action All 3 of them together. Right? On each. Other's. Bumper? Lol.
Why do modern plows leave such an unclean furrow? Doesn't look like they go in very deep either. Back in the day where we plowed in Michigan, we sucked it down 10-12 inches and it left a perfectly clean furrow.
How are they countering the erosion from fall plowing?
Mike, really enjoyed.I like mold board also. Did I hear or read that Deere stopped making plows in 2023?
What about pulling the old Krause one way disk plow takes a good tractor operater
I got a 135 Ferguson and 2 bottom 12 inch if they ever need help let me no.
They don't want you showing them up!
One side plow?
Good Job
Adoro máquinas agrícolas , minha paixão
i really like the banjo music
Hey Mike
Why was there no commentary or specs given for the Case Magnum 340 ????
Well I guess I overlooked that one.
Surprised they aren’t using auto-steer …furrow lines are all over the place.
Great black dirt video!
Do they use guidance and what's the moldboard widths and depth?
What do use to smooth it in the spring?
Did those straight lines look like they use guidance lol
Turning it over,in a big way
What size bottoms?
Surprised to see only those one sided plows in videos.
Usually we have turning plows over here so you can drive the lanes up and down right next to eachother.
How many acres was that field?
Not even gonna lie, that drone is a beast seeing how hard that wind was blowing at times, the tractors too ofcourse
Hey Mike I love your Video.
You said in video they plant non GMO corn. What is GMO corn? What is the difference in the corn?
Genetically modified
GMO corn means genetically modified, basically the seed companies can take genes from other plants and put it into the corn so that it has different attributes, such as drought tolerance, pest resistance, or just general increased yield. Non-GMO would lack these features but probably has a higher value due to Non-gmo marketing.
