I'm so sorry to hear that. But the most skilled gardeners also fail the very first time so please don't worry. Your next babies will thrive well because I can see that you try so hard 💝
I have one of those. I keep it outside, and if it doesn't rain, I will soak it in water until it is soaking wet. I never knew that they bloomed. I have several branches coming from the plant, and they are full of tiny white leaves, absolutely beautiful. My plant does have babies coming from the mother plant, but I'm scared to mess with it, so I will probably just let it do its thing . The plant does get morning and afternoon sun, maybe a bit too much, but she evidently likes her spot.

The very top of my healthy Hiworthia's new growth leaves are fairly whitish green. Is that normal? They do not appear unhealthy looking. I think it may be growing too high.
It's normal for new Haworthia growth to be lighter in color. The whitish-green tips could just be a sign of the new leaves emerging. However, if it's growing too tall, it might need more light, but avoid direct harsh sunlight. As long as the plant looks healthy, it’s all good!
@@SucculentsBox Oh no, sorry, the tips are nice and green It is very slow growing though and only 5 - 6" tall but the top leaves are....so, if you look at it from above and down inside, the inside of the leaves growing at the top are whitish. lol, it's very hard to explain.

And at the base of the leaves it’s wilty and the leaves themselves are soft and not hard. Can this be rescued??
To rescue your zebra plant pup, increase watering frequency, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Place it in bright, indirect light to prevent wilting from direct sunlight. Ensure good air circulation, and consider transplanting it into a well-draining soil mix if the current one is too gritty. Monitor its condition and mist the leaves lightly to boost humidity. With these adjustments, I hope it will thrive again!
How do you check the water moisture level if there's top dressing white gravels on the top of my planter? + how many ounce of water should I use for a 4 inch, 6inch pot with one Harworthia?
To make sure the amount of water is at right level, you can use a moisture meter. Here is how to use it succulentsbox.com/blogs/blog/how-to-use-a-moisture-meter
It's alright. Newly bought succulents usually come in small, plastic containers, which can hinder their growth. So after bringing home your new baby, you're recommended to transfer them to a different planter within 2 weeks 😎
My haworthia seems healthy and the soil is pretty gritty (I repotted it several weeks ago) but while most of its roots are healthy, some have turned hollow, shriveled and dead. Does this normally happen to healthy plants every once in a while or it shouldn't happen and is preventable?
It doesn't look like a normal growing process of Haworthia. The primary cause could be a problem of watering or drainage and low light or exposure to direct sunlight. We suggest you should water your succulent about once a week and make sure the soils dry out between waterings. Also, Haworthia naturally grows in gritty grounds, well-drained soil, indirect sunlight, and infrequent rainfall. You can follow these instructions to help yours thrive better.
How are these supposed to feel? I bought one off of Facebook market place and not sure if it's healthy. My leaves are hard, not too much squish to them, some parts are a reddish brown and has roots growing from the middle of the plant. I wish I could post a pic for you!
Hi there, according to our experience, the ideal pot size for succulents should be about 10% wider than the plant itself. If you are looking at shallow or deep pots, always choose the shallow pot. Can you please tell me how often should i water it? What if the soil seems dry & i water it but in actual at the bottom It's still moist? ☹️ i Don't wanna kill it
Hi there, plants use much less water in low-light conditions, resulting in their soil stays wet for much longer after watering. So, if you check the soil and it seems to be dry but is actually moist at the bottom, it's due to the low light. Zebra succulents should be watered when their potting soil has dried out competently, typically watering once every 2 to 3 weeks. Hope this helps
There are many reasons causing a Haworthia to turn brown. They could be sunburn, strong air currents, low humidity, fertilizer burn, or temperature fluctuations. You can check its surrounding conditions related to above issues to make sure the right reason. Hope you plant recovers soon 💞

Every video i have watched about watering a Haworthia never says anything about roughly how much you should be watering, only how often How much water do you give a Haworthia???
First off, please make sure that all of the soil should be dry before watering again. If the soil is still moist, you risk giving your Haworthia too much water which can make it start to rot. After that, pour water over the soil, for example, put the plant directly under a tap. Continue adding water to the pot until it starts to run out from the drainage holes. Hi Kath, it's the symptom of root rot, overwatering can be the reason. Stop watering until the soil gets dry. Wait for some days to see the plant’s reaction. When the top 2-3 inches feel dry, you can water them again. Within 2-3 weeks, your plant will be back to health. Hi Kylie, you can display your Zebra plant in a spot where they can get as much natural light as possible, like a south or east-facing windowsill! Hope this clarifies!
@@Mario-xr3jo Hi Mario, they have their points since Zebra can do well in an indoor setting, they can thrive in low light conditions. However, if you want to bring out its stunning red and orange pigments, then you can display them in a spot that they can get natural light like an east-facing windowsill. East-facing windows receive very good light levels and natural sources of heat without either being extreme.
@@SucculentsBox Red and orange pigments are not natural with Haworthia Fasciata. They are a sign of sunburn. Its natural colour is dark green with white warts.
@@Mario-xr3jo Hi Mario, thank you for your comment. We understand your concern that you're afraid they might get sunburn. Zebra is ideally green and we did mention that they prefer low light conditions in our video. In this thread, we just want to provide an option if you want to stress them a bit to bring out the red and orange pigments by placing them where they can get bright light but not too much. As long as you don't give them direct light, they will do just fine. That's also why we suggested placing them in an east-facing windowsill since east-facing window=bright, indirect light

You can also learn more about how to care for Haworthia by reading this blog. succulentsbox.com/blogs/blog/haworthia-zebra-is-the-best-succulent-for-beginner
@@SucculentsBox thanks for your reply! Apparently the whole root system is far from salvation 😔 Have a nice day!
My haworthia is 10 inches tall and producing more, babys .all the videos,I find, have small ones less then 5 inches .i used regular soil and let it dry out before watering again .please do a vid with one that is bigger and close to the size I have
Hi there, is your Zebra okay? There're no differences between caring for the small one and the tall one. If you have any specific problems with your plant, please let us know.
@@thedvdblurayreviewguy5161 As we explained, the care guide would be pretty much the same. We don't know if you have any difficulties caring for a big Haworthia Zebra so we asked. Glad that your plant is happy btw.
@@thedvdblurayreviewguy5161 What's wrong with you? It seems like they politely asked to know what exactly you expect to see in a new video that you requested but why you're being so rude??????????? Even not so, is asking about the health of your plant is wrong? If you don't feel comfortable about it you can politely refuse to answer or stay silent.
@@whoru1157 aww I'm sorry you need a safe space
@@SucculentsBox why I asked for you to do a vid with a larger one .some may not know how big these can get .untill I got mine I thought they stayed small like all the videos that people show on youtube.and not one ever said they can get big some people only like small plants and I have saved plants from going to,the trash due to growing past what some people are willing to take care of plants . but I guess that is to hard of a concept to grasp .and has, never crossed your mind either
My succulent is broken how do I fix it
Can you give us more details so we can figure it out together? If your succulent can no longer spring back to life, you should keep the healthy parts for propagation. Visit this blog for more tips succulentsbox.com/pages/propagation
@@SucculentsBox it just broke it was lose then when I went to fix it the stems of my zebra one broke I'm new to this I think I over watered my plant
So where should i put my plant
Hi Kylie, you can display your Zebra plant in a spot where they can get as much natural light as possible, like a south or east-facing windowsill! Hope this clarifies!
@@SucculentsBox
Most Haworthia channels advise to avoid direct sunlight.
@@SucculentsBox
Red and orange pigments are not natural with Haworthia Fasciata.
Not extreme indoor? Ha I don't have AC and temp inside can reach 95+
oh wow that is extreme...
@@SucculentsBox I'm gonna just put a couple small fans around them and see what happens.
@@Draconamous Please try and keep us posted!
@@SucculentsBox Will do. Any new info for succulent owners is a good thing.
Shoot i didnt hear or process tour advice and i decided that i should leave my hawhorthia zebra in the sun at the veening which caused my plant to die of sunburn 😭
oh no 😢so sorry to hear that. Let's try another one and hope it would be better
I got mine two weeks ago and it
Will not open is it dead?
Hi there, the main reasons for Haworthia Zebra closing up are due to incorrect quantities of water, incorrect exposure to sunlight, and exposure to adverse temperatures. Do you think this is your case?
@@SucculentsBox When it came in the mail it was like that
I repot it and it still wont open
It gets. Sun and water
Maybe i need to move it
It's in my sunroom
@@SucculentsBox I got your app
I'm buy from you
I got the zebra plant from Wal-Mart
@@SucculentsBox I moved the zebra plant to full sun it's open a little
