    The 0w represents flow rate at zero degrees celcius. For our tropical climate, the number after W ie 30, 40 matters more to us.

      30 seconds or 40 seconds, which one faster? Still confused? Ok, take one easy simulation for liquid spilled from table to the floor. More thickened, more time needed, right? Like condensed milk susu cap junjung. Very slow. But vegetable oil is less thickened and too thin, yet very easy to spill faster. So the concept is, please imagine HOW FAST one certain liquid falling down to the bottom of the part. Remember, less number less thickened, but high number are more thick. One more thing, the word W can be ignored, because we never have snow here. Btw, susu cap junjung use for teh tarik the.number is 100. Very thick. Very slow to fall to the floor.

      actually 0W represents oil viscosity when cold. when its at operating temperature the - i.e 30, 40 etc that represents oil viscosity.

    I uses shell fuel my whole life. But never uses Shell Engine Lubricant. Using Petronas Synthium 7000 and Castro Edge for my non-warranty car. The engine oil provided by Honda service centre for my accord (Idemitsu 0w-20) is quite good also. Older car such as camry 2008 if uses 0w and 5w will eat up the lubricant quite fast. Prepare to top up the oil. My own brother experience.

    Your 4-year-old car is considered `new' when compared to mine. The `newest' at the house is a 20--year-old Honda Accord that belonged to my late father-in-law who passed away in 2004. Still in good condition because I've been taking good care of it and not skimping on maintenance. Engine oil - I've decided to just let my trusted mechanic decide on it, and everything else. He drives an older model Honda too and whatever he thinks is good enough, I'm fine with it. The "trust" factor.
    Previously I was the type who'd scrutinise a manufacturer's spec sheet and use only what's listed (there's also a 1998 Mercedes W210 E-Class). But not anymore, ever since a significant repair to that W210. Nothing to do with whatever engine oil I had been using but a blown head gasket. Nowadays, the more important thing for me is "relationships", including with the mechanic. Always going for win-win with him. The oil he uses isn't very well-known but since he's confident (besides getting a cut from the sale), I'm okay. Been several years already and the engine is still fine despite the fairly heavy usage.

    Hi Uncle YS, I just got a Camry 2.5L Hybrid Year 2018 with low mileage at 50,000km. Previous owner used Semi Synthetic Oil 5W-30. I would like to change it to Full Synthetic Oil.
    According to Toyota I can use Full Synthetic 5W-40 or the Hybrid Full Synthetic 0W-20. Which one more suitable for this Camry 2.5L Hybrid..

      If you drive under harsh conditions, i.e. you like to drive fast, then the 5W-40 or 0W-40 should be better.
      If you drive for fuel efficie.cy most of the tome, the 0W-20 gives you better fc.

    • @YSKhongDriving

      Hi Waren, you can use 0W30 - it won't harm your engine, the effect might be slightly worse off fuel consumption. If your engine is still good, you should try using what is recommended in your handbook at least once. If it is burning oil, then perhaps you can use a thicker oil the next time you change.

    Hi uncle YS, i am driving the new corolla altis and the car user manual stated recommended engine oil is 5W-30, but Toyota service centre only carries 0w-20 & 5w-40 Fully Synthetic Oil, which of these two oils should I go for ? I am driving mainly only in city drive. Thanks in advance for your advice.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  2 роки тому +2

      The recommended 0W oil for your car should be 0W-30, according to the switchover guidelines, but if they are using 0W-20, they must have gotten it passed by Toyota.

    Boss YS. How to break in new honda hybrid engine during the 1st 1,000km? For petrol engine i saw few videos saying should not go more than certain rpm e.g 3,000 - 3,500? But how about the break in for hybrid engine specifically honda i-mmd? Tq in advance.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  2 роки тому +2

      Modern engines don't really need breaking in, but if you want to it is ok to do so. Keep it below 3,000 rpm, but do vary the rpm between 2000 to 3000. Gradually increase another 500 rpm once you hit 509km.

    Uncle YS. How long you require to warm up the engine? For new car non carburettor car with decent engine oil (5w-xx)

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  2 роки тому +2

      Actually you can start driving immediately, but use gentle throttle. This warms up the engine faster, usually in about 2 minutes. Idling in neutral will require about 5 minutes for an engine to warm up, so it is better to drive gently.

    Power

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  2 роки тому

      All are good vehicles. If you need a rugged and strong vehicle the Fortuner is it. If you want confort and great driving experience take the CX5. If you want great overall grip in the wet, the Forester is the ine to choose. Finally, there are price differences so choose the one that you can afford. If money no object then choose the one you like the most. Also look at the service network, and go for the one you feel comfortable with.
