I had a consult with a female gynecologist and she was so unable to acknowledge any emotional component to my hysterectomy that I decided I could not work with her. It’s 2021 and she’s been in practice for 30 or more years.I was appalled that she could not bring any measure of sensitivity to my experience.
Oh my gosh, I needed this video right now. I am 5 days post-op and I feel so depressed and like I could cry all day. It just came out of nowhere. None of my doctors warned me about this part of a hysterectomy.
My surgery was 3 months and a half ago. I had my family around until recently and now I'm finally completely on my own. I can't stop crying and being depressed. I didn't think that a hysterectomy could have major psychological effects; I don't think that it was discussed with my doctor either.
Thank you so much for sharing this... I know I surrendered this and all of me to God already... but watching your video made me cry. I know healing is happening in all areas of my life that needs healing. Had my hysterectomy when I gave birth to my breech baby thus I had to underwent a CS delivery. Thanks God for my loving husband... family and friends. My GOD is a big God. All is well for me I know❤
Thanks for making this video. I am about 8 weeks post surgery and I have been really struggling with grief and depression. I am 36 and was diagnosed with cancer and I'm now in remission. I am in counseling. I am ready to move past this. Thanks for the reminder that I'm not crazy!
I've been pregnant 3 times and have one living child. To stop thinking about the losses, I put my energy on my son, and my cousins 3 children to take my mind off of things. That was the only way I made it. Now they are grown; and going to college, and I feel the empty nest syndrome starting. Even for the ones that are not mine. I am just so thankful that I am alive to see all of this come to fruition.
Hey sis I’ve been pregnant 3 times also with one living child and me and my mom have custody of my nieces and I’m thankful for what I do have I had my partial hysterectomy when I was 24 and I’m just now trying to figure out why I’m experiencing the things that I am it’s nice to see that I’m not alone I’m crying writing this cause man it’s very overwhelming 😒😔
I still cry after 10 months. Been is therapy twice. So depressed. Post menopausal over 10 years. Didn't realize how much the uterus played in orgasms till it was gone. Just not the same now.
Me too. I feel very sad but can’t make sense out of it-not a word from any of the medical professionals! What the hell. This is a quality of life issue.
I had the physical pain following surgery, but I couldn't feel more happier without my uterus! Even tho some women might feel sad over not being able to have kids at all, one of the best ways to get over it is, think of it this way: Remember all the years that that organ, the uterus also caused so much humiliation too, with all its disgusting bleeding and painful cramps! That's the best way to think of getting past it, I feel that way anyway. I suffered more misery and suffering before my hysterectomy than after. Now it's just the stress of everyday life that can worry me, but I find it's not as stressful. Life is more fulfilling without having to be on birth control or having to worry about another unpredictable timing of a stupid period to ruin my fun.
👋 Hi i came across your video Because i had a hysterectomy 10 months ago and I have a lot of anxiety and depression after that surgery I still have my ovaries I just don't feel the same as I was before. My life has completely changed 😢😰😞 i have consulted my OBGYN and I'm on medication for it but i. Had no idea it would have taken a toll on me life changing for sure.
Thank you so much. I had a total hysterectomy at 35, due to an IUD, the Dalkon Shield. I was in the hospital three times. Finally I had to have that hysterectomy. It has taken so many years to make peace. I am Strong. And I don’t listen to anybody that has big name badges. I do my own research.
Thank you xx everything you mentioned was exactly how I’ve been feeling. I really appreciate you sharing this with us. I’m 6 days PO so should come right soon
I cant even describe what iam going through Having my surprise 2nd baby ,10yrs apart Then i lost him just 23weeks of having him in my belly Delivered him then when to cs and hysrectomy bec of my placenta Im devestated now God please heal me I will hold you in my heart till i can hold you in heaven
I wish that I never had my partial hysterectomy. My thyroid became messed up and the doctor never explained how my hormones would rage out of control. Mood swings off the chart. Just because the ovaries are left does not mean that you still won’t need hormones. I went a long time not knowing that. My doctors did the usual, prescribe anti-depressants. So sick of that always being the only thing the doctors in my area want to do.
I understand how you feel. I am battling with my dr for hormones. He gave me estrace pills but my pressure when up and a bad headache. Now pending what he will prescribe . Battling now with allergies in which I never had
I have never gotten over the bad side effects of Hyst. 5 years and still hormonal Deficient, height loss, hair loss, bone loss. I look unhealthy because they took my ovaries for no reason and uterus for benign reasons (2 small natural fibroids).
My actual abdomen is twisted to the right side of my body and my navel is facing my right hip and my weight on the right side of my body is all pushed to my left side of abdomen and no one has been able to help me and it’s hard to breath and some days I can’t even get outta bed i was 142.7lbs now im at 111.3lbs
I lost a lot of my hair cause of hyst and I lost a lot of bone mass and muscle cause I'm now lacking my testosterone and estrogen. Why no one tell me this.....?......?.?.?
Don't have a hysterectomy unless it is due to life threatening illness. It isn't worth it. I wish more doctors would warn women about the negative health side effects.
Doctors are making money nowadays. Cus it is easy to earn money through this process. Otherwise it will happen naturally. No one can blame them . They play with our emotions. And we fool ladies fear of cancer remove our organs.
@@redlisab Why did you say that? I think she meant to say if you are premenopausal age would that still happen if you remove your uterus but not your ovaries.
Then don't get one. Look up HERS foundation on facebook; they will counsel you and provide you with a doctor in your area from a list of doctors who use organ sparing techniques rather than rushing you into hysterectomy.
@@redlisab you are a beautiful person for referring people to HERS. HERS will tell you the real truth about Hyst and help you to understand what's going on before or after Hyst than your Dr will tell you
@@dwho432 Awww thank you; I myself was tricked into the procedure, it has done me great harm, and I don't want this to happen to anyone else when there are such good alternatives like HERS & I can point women in that direction. This video is very deceptive & misleading about hysterectomy, so I hope women won't be lulled into a false sense of security that it's OK to get one, but will investigate further into the absolutely essential functions the uterus aka womb provide.
There's almost never any good reason to have one, nor necessity. Hysterectomy is a huge medical fraud and abuse of women which can almost universally be avoided if you have the right doctor. Contact HERS foundation for a list of doctors who use organ sparing techniques.

I'm a week in a half and now I started to have the crying. Some days are good and some are harder.
The medical community definitely fails us on this surgery. There are way bigger consequences and side effects than they tell us.

Do women go through hot flashes/menopause after having a hysterectomy?
For most women it seems to happen if the ovaries were removed as well.
Yes very much
Worse
