      Just had my abdominal hysterectomy a week ago, they just ask how I've been the level of pain and prescribed meds while I was recovering, they only advice soft diet which consist of bland congee or soups and a side of fruit which is either banana or pineapple, other than that they did not give anything else, they prescribed me medicines when I was discharged and check up this week, they were careful with the meds provided because I just had my heart ablation a month earlier

    THIS VIDEO IS A LIFE SAVER! I have followed this to a T. I started eating lighter the week before surgery and I cut out every food she suggests to avoid gas and ate any food she suggested for stool softening. My first 2 weeks of recovery have gone smoothly!!! I HIGHLY suggest following this video plus eating /drinking protein sources - light one like yogurt, protein shakes, kefir, cottage cheese....it helps heal and keeps things easy on digestion...THANK YOU MK!!! your videos have saved me during this process

    I had my hysterectomy on September 26 and 10 days post I had no appetite and was basically surviving on biscuits and porridge. However after all those days I kept feeling less of myself and always tired, as there had been nights I had not slept a wink. I know I had to do something about this as I should have been feeling better daily but it was not happening. I came across this video on Friday October 07 and started the meal plan as stated. That first night I slept the entire night and today Sunday October 09 I have more energy, walking much better with less pain on the incision and have drastically improved within 2-3 days. A million kudos goes out to you because I really felt like life was over for me but you brought me back to life. Honestly your gynecologist fails to address these follow up instructions which is just as important as the surgery itself. Thanks for bringing my life back into perspective! Your breathing and pelvic exercise videos are also helpful.Keep up the great work! 👍

      I had no options because I’m 54 with normal periods w no sign of menopause any time soon.
      But I have two huge fibroids that’s caused heavy bleeding but never any pain whatsoever.
      my ovaries will be preserved but here’s the thing, I was already having night sweats & hot flashes waaay before the surgery. I’ve managed it very well with herbal supplements but if I go without the supplements for more than 3 days I start feeling the symptoms.

    October 3. 2022 I had my uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, appendix, portion of my intestines removed and my rectum was attached to my uterus so that had to be repaired. No one told me how much my stomach would be bloated, 20 days+ later. It’s not painful just embarrassing and uncomfortable. I can’t seem to get rid of the bloating, unable to pass gas. I wish I had seen this video prior to surgery. Thank you so much. I’ve also found your video on exercise to do.

    This diet should have been given by doctors from a young age, not once it’s too late 🤔
    Thankfully I cancelled a unnecessary full hysterectomy and shrunk a 11cm fibroid naturally. Like I said, we as women should have been taught about our bodies and through the stages we go to.

    Thank you Michelle. Your videos are so helpful. I had hysterectomy and oophorectomy 3 weeks ago. How about citrus fruits and spices, e.g. turmeric, ginger and chillies? Spices seem to help with pain and constipation, but I wonder if it makes bloating worse. Love yoghurt and milk, but could not eat/drink I it without causing more bloating in the first 2 weeks.

    • @michellephysio
      @michellephysio  3 роки тому +3

      @Val P. yes and yes Val, spices can help with bowel motility however they are also potential causes of gas and bloating. You will find that MirLAX will keep the stool soft without the bloating, it's an excellent stool softener and promotes gut motility without causing dependency. Just check with your pharmacist first, many women are routinely placed on an osmotic laxative post op for at least 6 weeks. You may have had some temporary lactose intolerance post op, lactose free milk and yogurt can help with this in the early stages too. Hope this info helps and all the best for your recovery

      @@michellephysio Thanks Michelle. I did not know temporary lactose intolerance was a thing! I was given something similar to soften stool for 14 days only. In the last couple of days it seems ok, perhaps due to the beetroot soup I had on both days. : )

    I had my full hysterectomy in November last year and want to lose weight. I have tried exercise and had pain in the abdomen area so have stopped. Would you be able to give me advise on exercises and a diet program I can use to lose weight?

    • @michellephysio
      @michellephysio  2 роки тому

      @Shanaella Shantie Kawi yes this is a common and troubling issue many women face. In terms of exercises, the best exercises are usually low-impact cardio exercises such as stationary bike. Wearing good support briefs can help if you intend to walk or use an elliptical machine for weight management. In terms of diet, the regular dietary advice applies along the lines of a Mediterranean style diet and you may like to watch this video for more information where I talk with a dietician about weight management (disregard the fact that this is for men - same applies for women) ua-cam.com/video/CGF8Co570ec/v-deo.html
