Nothing beats the Nato, but this is still cool. My watch collecting frame of mind changed for the better once I started changing the bands. So I appreciate the Band videos

Yes and as a proud owner of both Speedy and the Bulova I cannot stress enough the importance of the reliability of our wristwatches in Space.
A question I always had is this: I don’t know how different the mil-spec version of a velcro is to the everyday civilian on, but isn’t the fine powder on the moon an issue? Ok, you will not necessarily removing and readjusting the strap on the lunar surface with all that dust, but still… any thoughts on that?
Also, why did they choose the one-pass velcro option, over the ‘stress relief’ that a ‘two-pass zulu’ type strap offers on the pins?
The velcro does look cool though, especially with the tag on the back of the wrist! 😊
Great question! We actually have Lunar dust/regolith simulant, and could test this out in another video.

Are colors of the straps associated with different eras or missions ?
Wish there was an 18mm version. I have a Speedmaster triple date. 18mm lugs.
CnS Watch Bands has that size for similar straps. They call them "moon straps" but it's the same concept.

Very, very cool bands…however, at the 1:02, 1:06, 1:17, 1:35 marks, the velcro seems to be not of the greatest quality…fraying or tearing🤔 I have the original NATO from the Bulova Lunar Pilot and the Velcro is tight in comparison. When you took it off at the end of the demo it appeared to be a new strap, wasn’t even formed yet…
I think it’s a great concept, It’s the very thing I would want to pick up for my Lunar Pilot so I can put my original away to preserve it.
Our Velcro is authentic 3M Brand, 3/4" width military Velcro. No fraying or tearing, it's incredibly sturdy. Feel free to order and test it out for yourself.
The video resolution is poor and I wish you had zoomed in, so I’m not quite clear on which side goes up in the different schemes. There’s a “hook” side, and a “pile” side. Saying “put the Velcro side out” is meaningless. It’s all Velcro.
The hook and loop are both on the same side on these straps. That's what I'm talking about.
Loop/hook side up for straight through configuration, loop/hook side down in the second configuration - as mentioned in the video (in 1080p resolution too)
