Last method is a game changer. I used to dislike natos for their bulky look but the sleek way looks so clean, keeps the buckle off your wrist, and having it at the bottom of your wrist feels much better. Thank you for showing us this.
Wow, I agree with words below: Last method is a game changer. I used to dislike natos for their bulky look but the sleek way looks so clean, keeps the buckle off your wrist, and having it at the bottom of your wrist feels much better. Thank you for showing us this. I love only the forth method, and from now on it will be my final choose. It's a little more difficult to put on the wrist, but then it stays perfect. Congratulations
Wow! This is great. I never comment on videos, ever, but this was life-changing for me. I have a lollipop-wrist (prominent ulnar styloid) and the normal NATO method meant my watch always bumped into the bone and that was very irritating. I love wearing a watch but have suffered through wearing it just out of love. The third and fourth method in your video were CURATIVE for me. It means i can now wear my watch without discomfort. The watch no longer hits the ulnar styloid process on my wrist. It sits in behind it. Pure comfort to wear. Immediate fix. Thank you!
Super thrilled to get a comment like this! Thanks for letting me know, it really brightens up my day when I get a comment like this😊 And I’m more than happy to help! I hope you have comfortable watch wearing days ahead!😁
Wow, I was a bit sceptic when I took a NATO for my Seiko Kinetic, but your last method and the second last one makes it look so slim, unique and non dressy. Like others mentioned, definitely a cool hack!
Let me be like the 700th person to thank you effusively for method 4! I have resisted wearing the one watch in my collection with a NATO strap even though I really like it and now I’m sporting it happily and proudly!
Hot take: Second method is perfect. The bulky fold is kinda cool as long as it's only facing me. Last method felt a bit scratchy and requires too much set up for daily use imo, but I love the versatility
I'm wearing my nato as per last option. Agree with previous comments a game changer... **Another option...I looped the belt through the 6 dial, this made the buckle and guide sit comfortably for me. Thankyou for the great tips.
Thank you. I watched 3 or 4 videos with different methods and was just confused. All methods seemed worse than how I just threw it in out of the box. But the 4th method here has the best result, and you explained it very clearly. Thanks again.
Fantastic video. I've just bought a few NATO straps after several years of not using them. When strapping the first one on the traditional way it didn't quite feel 100%. Found your video and the fourth method is exactly what I wanted at this point in time. Of course the great thing about NATO straps is flexibility and with these different ways of wearing them, that richness in variation becomes even greater. Thanks so much!
The 3rd method solves all of the issues I had with my NATO straps: improving fit and comfort while retaining the classic asymmetrical NATO look. Thank you for this video!
Thank you for a very helpful and straight forward video. I ordered my first NATO strap and it came with no instructions what so ever. So instead of winging it I watched your video and it came out better than I could have imagined.
I'll echo what the other comments say, the third and final version is a game changer. Been trying to like Nato's for 20 years with the original method and it's just too bulky! Final way takes an extra few seconds for me to pu the watch on, but well worth it. Thank you!
Just want to say I enjoyed watching this video. I just found out about the NATO strap and this video was very helpful. I tried all the different ways and didn't really like any one of them until I moved the watch down toward the long end like you mentioned at 1:10. Now, my favorite is the traditional way because my watch is naturally very thin so a little height actually makes it look better.
Thank you very much! The traditional way is great for smaller watches imo :) glad to hear that you found your favorite way of wearing it 😎maybe if you get a nato on a bigger watch, you’ll like the other methods as well!
The last method is the winner. Thanks. The reason I use this strap is when my sailing watch, a Hamilton navy, is in the rough, it snags on things, and with the nylon strap through both pins, I don't lose it. The spring pins are the weak link on watch straps, and if the strap or bracelet only connects with one spring pin and it fails, you drop the watch over the side. If you are doing time and distance, this is not good. The NATO nylon strap, single or double pass, is the best strap for a field watch IMHO. Right now I am using the conventional method and indeed it sits up a bit proud, will give this new method a try.
I have quite a few NATO straps and they have different lengths. Some are too short to fold over and tuck in, method #one. It's always nice to have options.
Have a Citizen Promaster BNO 150. It came on that very uncomfortable rubber/polyurethane strap, wore it for a month. Ordered a stainless bracelet from Long Island Watch ( BRAC 35 ) made specifically for the Promaster. Watch sits right on the wrist flush and is very comfortable to wear now. It dressed up the watch real nice too....life is good.
I’ll have to make a video on this! But in the meanwhile, you can check out my video on how to remove a watch strap with no tools. There you’ll see how the spring bars work.
@ Thanks - a video on that would be great. I’ve seen your video on how to remove with no tools, and I know how spring bars work but still can’t figure out a good way to attach them for NATOs.
Thanks for the tip, buddy...now my SEIKO 5 looks so much better...aside from being positioned on my wrist more comfortably...without that pesky eyesore of excess strap being exposed. Brilliant idea!😊
Thank you so much! It was really helpful! I like NATO straps but I believed I couldn't wear them because the excess strap was showing awkwardly. Your video was a game changer! :D
I never saw Nato straps the same again after that last method lol... wow. It's cool to have these looping options, even with 1 strap you can achieve multiple looks and feels. Props!
Amazing video! Switched to the 4th way. Subscribed right after, I love awesome people sharing know-how in a very humble way! your tone kept me connected til the end of the video. 😘 Tak
I just discovered this video while searching for replacement straps! My father gifted me a nice Seiko for my birthday but it has a NATO strap and I hated the way it looked. I feel the excess strap material in method 1, 2 and 3 draws attention away from the design of the watch. After watching your video and discovering method 4 I have decided to keep the strap, it looks great now. Thank you!
You’re a life saver. Just bought my first watch over $200. It came with a nato strap (just got into watches and didnt know what it was) and hated how much it made the watch bulge off my wrist. That last technique saved me from having to buy a new strap. And good thing because I don’t have the watch tools to take the pins out. Really thanks a lot man!
Happy to help! The traditional way of wearing the nato strap has the downside of making the watch bulge out from the wrist quite a lot. Btw I have a video on how to remove the pins using dental floss :) that way you can switch to something like a leather strap with quick release spring bars, without any tools!
I prefer the standard way as it keeps the buckles or edge of the nylon from scratching your wrist. the two layers protect better then one as often the first has a join.
I'm really excited to try the final version you demonstrated on my vintage SKX007 when the NATO strap I ordered arrives. Thank you for making this video.
This video is brilliant. I’m from America. I hit like. I subscribed. And I saved this video. The last method makes me feel like James Bond! Thank you for the taking the time to show how to do the different methods. CHEERS 🎉🍻!!!
I come back to this video every summer when I decide to go back to wearing a NATO. For some reason, I can't ever remember the last method which to me works best.
Thanks for the tutorial… first and last made the most sense… FYI… not sure why you wore the gloves as the tutorial was about the strap and not the watch so no one was focused on finger prints… 😊
Glad to hear it! Yes I know but fingerprints are not the reason I wear gloves. I wear them because people easily pay attention to lon/short nails or dry skin or other stuff like that. Gloves make everything nice and neutral and doesn’t draw any attention😊 I sometimes mention this in my videos, where gloves don’t make sense. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching😊
It’s good to have alternative way of wearing the strap but be aware that if your watch head moves down the strap if you dangle it by the buckle you should avoid methods 3 and 4. A heavier watch can simply slide off the strap which the extra loop is there to prevent.
This is great. Thanks! I just got some NATO straps, and was befuddled, even after watching a couple other videos - I have thin wrists, and the 3 loops & the buckle and excess end were looking bulky and not good... But your 4th option works great!!
This is great. I just ordered the Seiko Snoopy edition with the NATO and this will give me all these options to wear. This will be my very first NATO strap. Very useful video!
Great vid, thanks. I'm new to NATOs and like that last way you threaded it the most. I've always preferred a snug fit on my bands and think wearing it this way will also make it less prone to snagging.
Thank you! Glad to hear you found it useful! Natos are great, but they can be a bit bulky sometimes, so it’s definitely a hood way to wear them in a more slim way.
@@NordicWatchChannelI bought a '63 Seagull last week and a Benchmark Basics leather nato, the last technique is the only way to go with a warch that has a 14mm height. Wearing a nato any other way seems alien to me now regardless of case size.

last way to go obviously, funny is the fiddling with strap myself got me there too, and it felt lil weird, and google search brought me to your video 😁first NATO I got online was very thin and poor quality, so classic way was ok.. once getting proper NATO, I didn't want to have watches flying a mile away from my wrist 🤣

I totally agree. The perfect way of wearing it, Thanks to Nordic Watch Channel
Except you have a baby’s diaper worth of dump under your wrist. Hated this method.
@@justmeeagainn Try a parachute strap, best of both worlds.
Yes, once you work that last one, there’s no going back to the traditional way of wearing a Nato,,,,ever! Thanks for this!
Have to agree the 4th position is fantastic. I didn’t know that there was 4 positions. Thanks a million. 😊
Glad to hear that! My pleasure :)
You finally made me love my NATO with the last method. Thank you!!!
Glad to hear that! :)
Same. Thanks!

The last method is brilliant!
Thanks! It’s a good way to switch it up a bit👍🏻
I agree, feels SO MUCH BETTER on my wrist! Thank you.

Awesome to hear that! Cheers mate :)
Last method looks SO good and comfortable, can't wait for my nato strap to arrive. Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you! Glad if I could help and I hope that this method goes well with your strap :)
To be honest , you have solved one of humanity biggest problem with that 4th way
