The defendant knew EXACTLY what she was doing by not registering the camper. She knew EXACTLY why the plaintiff couldn't register the camper, it's just like a car: you have to get a title in YOUR name and then sign it over. I'm kind of surprised why the Plaintiff didn't realize that the title name wasn't the name of the seller (ie the defendant), that would be my number 1 question. All the defendant had to do was download the form online, fill it out, print it out, go to the DMV early in the morning and title it + pay the sales tax. She just wanted to be cheap and not pay the sales tax since "it never hit the road". It doesn't matter if it never hits the road, it still needs to be registered under your name. What would have happened if a tree took it out and you wanted to file an insurance claim? Oh wait, you can't do that because the TITLE ISN'T IN YOUR NAME. Yeah, the plaintiff should have done this sooner but I understand her train of thought, why get it inspected and registered if you're not planning on using it for the next 6+ months? Also, this could have all been solved if the defendant was up front about the state of the Title not just, "I never took it out on the road". Yeah, going to the DMV at 7am on a Saturday isn't fun, it never is but if it helps another human being out, why not? Then you'll never have to deal with it again. She can be out of your hair.
The plaintiff only sued because ole girl blocked her. Had the defendant just did what she was supposed to do and fixed the title situation, then all of this could have been avoided. The defendant got lucky with Milian. Because usually Milian does not care and would make you just return the money.

"I Had 30 people at my house.I was trying to have a party." Oh my god, really lady. Like you never expected that day was gonna come. What an entitled whiner.
The Defendant is completely at fault, and definitely entitled. Everything going on in her life is more important. Plaintiff is also at fault. She got a good deal walked away, forgot about it, until a week before her trip. She didn't bother to check the title before completing the sale? You walk away with a bad title on your own. Most people in this day and age, finish this type of sales at the Motor Vehicle's office, for liability and title issues.
I don't understand why the defendant is getting mad at the plaintiff for not registering it when the defendant repeatedly said the reason she didn't register it is because she didn't have it out on the road, well the plaintiff didn't have it on the road either so according to the defendants logic she shouldn't be getting mad, also when the judge started talking about how the defendant didn't have the right to sell it she knew the judge was going to order the trailer back to her and for her to return the $1,500 to the plaintiff so she quickly started talking about what she needed to do to get the title in her name 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ I was hoping the judge would just order the trailer back to her, the defendant knew exactly what she was doing and I do not believe that she didn't have it on the road.

Once the defendant pays the taxes and gets the title paperwork done, they can "Hand Carry" the title paperwork to the capital building that prints new titles that same day rather than wait weeks for them to mail the new title to the defendant. I do it all the time, you just have to tell the clerk handling the paperwork that you are wanting to hand carry it to the department of revenue and they will put everything in an big envelope for you.
The defendant looks thrilled with the verdict, haha. If that camper had been involved in any sort of accident the person still on the title would have been responsible for damages.
You can't jump title. Duh, how does the defendant not realize that you have to register something in your name saying you have the right to sell it. That's how we know a vehicle or vessel isn't stolen
There are plenty of states where there is no sales tax on private party sales...."title jumping" is not a thing. Obviously, this will only work if the buyer's info was left off the title. Generally, you wouldn't have a title if the vehicle was stolen....
I think the plaintive lost value. She traded value (dollars ) for equal or greater expected value. ( Work = Dollars = Freedom = Value.) We work (trade freedom) for dollars so that we can value our time not working. She has yet to realize that value. Her value was contingent on the ability to use the item for its intended purpose. In theory, taxes paid at registration pay for the roads that item will use. Without roads the camper has no value to the plaintive. She will now have the opportunity realize her value, plus in dollars, but if it is true that Time + Work = Dollars = Freedom, she lost time, freedom, memories, experiences that cannot be replaced.
Her attitude is wild. She never asked for a refund she asked for what she paid for which is ownership of the camper. She’s lucky because I would’ve said no send me my money back because you want to take me through the ringer. She hasn’t registered in years so I’m not going to trust she will now
In this day and age of instant access to information, like the DMV website, there is no excuse for such ignorance on the parts of both parties. I don’t know if non-op status applies to a tent trailer, but at a minimum the defendant could have registered as non operating. And then same with the plaintiff…..🙄 Both will face fines and penalties.
Hey PC Fam!! I work at the DMV in MI..I tell ppl all the time. The only name that should be on there as purchaser is YOURS. You see another name. Don't take it 🙄
Both buyer and seller knew about the title at time of sale. Seller never intended to register as she didn't need it on the road and didn't want to pay the property tax. Buyer would be dumb to not realize the name on the title was different than the person selling, not to mention, you're given I think 90 days to register before paying late fees. Buyer waited longer than the 90 days because she "knew" the title wasn't dated so she could date the title before taking it to register. What was unknown to both parties, was that the ORIGINAL seller who's name was still on that title, had reported to the dmv proof of sale so that they themselves would no longer have to pay the taxes. So when the new Buyer went to register, the dmv knew it had sold 3 years prior and the title had accrued late fees for registration. This at least is how it works in my state.
hmmm , why do i think the plaintiff already used the camper and now she was hoping to get a free camper rental by getting her 1500 back ? she must have known when she bought it that there was no title with the defendant's name on it . also the buyer is responsible for paying one of the 3 years of sales tax .

The defendant should have never bought a camper if she feels the taxes that have to be paid for owning that camper are too high! Her kids wanting to sleep over while she doesn’t have enough space, is her problem and not an excuse to jump title! At least she showed her happy personality once JM said: “That’s my verdict, good luck” (13:23) and this bright, cheerful smile appeared on her lovely face…. …. …. I’m kidding: she looks as happy as she would look when realizing she just shat her pants! What a nasty, nasty attitude this defendant overall has!!
I believe the defendant knew she was title jumping. She should have found out what the 3 years of back taxes is (probably a few hundred bucks), and just include that amount into her selling price
Edit - I made this comment before the video was over, and judge explained it. She is trying to do what it's called title jumping. Whether she is doing it intentionally or not. Basically title jumping the long and the short of it for people who don't know what it is is when you buy a vehicle from somebody and then sell it to somebody else without putting it in your name. Thus avoiding paying transfer tax on it. It is not legal in most places because the government wants their piece of the action. Regardless of what your intended use is. Sometimes it's also called title skipping or title floating. Pretty good rule of thumb is if the person who is selling you something isn't the person who is on the title you are *likely* going to have problems. I don't know if title jumping is legal anywhere, but any of the places that I have ever purchased something with the title, it has not been legal. And for the most part A lot of people would not be very thrilled if they got a phone call quite some time after they had sold something from somebody else who now owns it to get the title issues sorted out because the original purchaser never bothered
I think the defendant truly thought that if she just ignored this hard enough (scrunches eyes shut, repeats mantra "I'm not listening, I'm not listening") that it would just go away.

She paid pennies on the dollar for that camper. Yeah, and if you really think about it objectively, the new owner practically did the same thing as the old owner. Why take 7 months to go down and register it? Same reason as the first lady. Didn't do it until it was NECESSARY!
3:45 that lil perfect hair flip. Reminds me of the girls in HS with perfect freakin shampoo commercial hair lol.
There ain't no way in hell that lady is going to go to the DMV and register it in her name so this lady can go camping 😅 you can tell by her facial expressions towards the end she is thinking ain't no way I'm going to the DMV 😂
She'll end up back in court if she doesn't
@@teacupmagick7030 Yup and the next judge would 100% award the plaintiff her $1,500 judgment at that point and that nasty woman would have to pay out of her pocket to get the camper towed back to her unless she abandons it.

@ChynaCash313 yup and the peoples court actually pays the judgements to the litigants. So next time she'll be paying out of her pocket.
JM should have put a time limit on her getting the title straightened out. I thought the same thing!
I can see why the defendant is a single mother.
This is misogyny.
Really 🤦🏻♀️ Any type of camper or car/truck has to be registered
two nice people who listened to the voice of reason... good job
nice person? A nice person would of just went to the DMV and registered it not drop off the planet. Do you really think the defendant really did and went to register it? Really?
When it started, she never register the camper we all knew the case was over.
The defendant needs to tone it down on the attitude. Lady u knew u owed taxes stop it . U knew what was going on . Tone the attitude smh 🤦♀️
1500?!
Once she registers it to her name I’ll buy it!🙋🏻♀️😄
Right! That is too cheap.
We don't call it taxachsetts for nothing, ugh
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Exactly!
The plaintiff only sued because ole girl blocked her. Had the defendant just did what she was supposed to do and fixed the title situation, then all of this could have been avoided. The defendant got lucky with Milian. Because usually Milian does not care and would make you just return the money.
Be better if she had. We all know that lady won't go to the DMV anytime soon!
@@michelehemlokhexwhite4310 Exactly! If she was playing games about going before, what makes Marilyn think she's going to go now just because she's suddenly willing to "cooperate"? Plus she tried to use the 'as is' clause as an excuse for never transferring the title in her name. When even if the Plaintiff had of checked when she first got the camper, they would probably still be right where they're at now.
13:00 I call BS! She jumped titles so the plaintiff should get all her money back!
Well you obviously don't know sh$t about the value of campers. I'll take 100 of those for 1500 measly bucks.
Defendant is little bit scary glaring at judge like that!
The defendant acts very entitled.
The state doesn't care what your intentions are.
‘IN MY MIND’- In your mind lady, it’s dusty & filled with cobwebs! Your kids could have slept in a tent, not a camper. Just b/c it’s not on the road, doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be registered/ RETITLED. It’s considered a dirty title. You can’t sell it. That means, that ‘as is’ sale is VOID. PS PAY THE TAXES & REGISTER IT.
That's what we did or rent a cabin
"I Had 30 people at my house.I was trying to have a party." Oh my god, really lady. Like you never expected that day was gonna come. What an entitled whiner.
I learned a lot through this episode
The Defendant is completely at fault, and definitely entitled. Everything going on in her life is more important. Plaintiff is also at fault. She got a good deal walked away, forgot about it, until a week before her trip. She didn't bother to check the title before completing the sale? You walk away with a bad title on your own. Most people in this day and age, finish this type of sales at the Motor Vehicle's office, for liability and title issues.
That’s not why she didn’t register the camper. She didn’t register because it’s super expensive to register.
That question at the end about the sibling. lol!! Omg evil. Haha
I live in Tucson where a lot of people have yard ornaments/additional space, and it's legal, as long as you don't have HOA and it's not in the street. Tucson is dirty, all but where the money is, foothills.
Great call.
Don't be a TITLE JUMPER !
I don't like the ruling. If the Defendant was really interested in registering the title she wouldn't have stopped responding to the Plaintiff.
I’ll take the plaintiff camping 👀
Lol
The defendant looks thrilled with the verdict, haha. If that camper had been involved in any sort of accident the person still on the title would have been responsible for damages.
Play Dum an win by not paying out 😂
Plaintiff's adorable, I want to go camping with her😊 I'll pull the stupid thing without tags🤣
Give me my money back... Let her figure that stuff out with the title...
It’s technically a voidable sale bcuz she had no clean Title.
But, it looked clean outside. $1500 is probably good.
Yes, it's a good price for a nice pop-up if you can use it!
@@sunnyscott4876 the buyer wasn't smart enought to register it.
She hasn’t registered in years so I’m not going to trust she will now
I would have made her take back the camper.
That defendant looks so irritated and clueless. Asking what she needs to do to get it registered 🤦♀️like she doesn't have a car that's registered
The judge is clueless. She should have awarded the plaintiff all her money.
Here we go...I'm a single mom excuse...smh.
In this day and age of instant access to information, like the DMV website, there is no excuse for such ignorance on the parts of both parties. I don’t know if non-op status applies to a tent trailer, but at a minimum the defendant could have registered as non operating. And then same with the plaintiff…..🙄 Both will face fines and penalties.
just return the camper and refund the money
Still - the plaintiff should have gotten something to make up for her missing her target camping date - But I DO like solutions like this
apply for a lost title instead?
Hey PC Fam!!

@@BigLoBabyLo , ok sis 😉
Smart ppl talking❤
What does it mean when she said she has to pay the sales tax for the past 3 years? Isn't the sales tax something you pay just once?
I think they meant sales tax, and 3 years of rego ie road taxes.
hmmm , why do i think the plaintiff already used the camper and now she was hoping to get a free camper rental by getting her 1500 back ? she must have known when she bought it that there was no title with the defendant's name on it . also the buyer is responsible for paying one of the 3 years of sales tax .
Having a little memory loss here?
You already posted this exact same comment! *
*Could be the other way around, I didn’t bother to check out the timeline…. Still twice the same fairytale comment!
Pay the lady!! The defendant doesn't want to take any responsibility for her unfinished business! Sheesh!! Whether it was 7 months or 7 days! Pay your taxes! 😅 bum ace 😂
Nope, I would have said, "I dont want it anymore. I just want my money back" lol
Defendant was so annoying. I’m a single mom. I had 30 people at my house. Just stop
Yeah, what a sourpuss!
The seller did have the camper on the road. How else did she get it to her property? I do realize there’s a grace period to register.
What do you mean.. they could have just towed it ..they were probably not worried about getting stopped
Towing means it was on the road.
@@alpenglow4243, in my state a bill of sale give you a 2 week grace period before you have to register it.
@@alpenglow4243 NOOO FOOL... vehicles /RV or are towed all the time that are not registered..

whether or not you plan to take it on the road, you still have to pay the taxes (period).
What was the update on this case
this judge has a jpyful personality, she always seems to be in a good mood...
“I’m a single mother” - everybody
How is that a dig at women? 😂 Woman haters never think before they make stupid comments.
I believe the defendant knew she was title jumping. She should have found out what the 3 years of back taxes is (probably a few hundred bucks), and just include that amount into her selling price
I doubt she ever -ever goes and registers that.
Judge Milan's husband is not 6'2" 😅
Edit - I made this comment before the video was over, and judge explained it.
That interviewed Doug or whatever at the end ALWAY says the stupidest most cringeworthy things to the people. I feel embarrassed as soon as the litigants walk out of the court! Also, I cannot believe the audacity of that woman trying to sell the camper without registering it, AND trying to get out of paying her taxes. Who does that except a CROOK. No one should cheat on their taxes, especially defrauding the next person that paid money for your vehicle that you did not pass clean title to. I would be so livid if I were the purchaser, I'd want the defendant in JAIL.
omg the defendant knew she would not pay lool
