Yeah, if you have boundaries that can't be crossed without you becoming verbally or physically abusive, you need to find a different profession. I've taught in schools where the disrespect was shocking to my non-teacher friends and family. This student wasn't even _being_ disrespectful.
I was a middle school teacher for 2 years and hated every minute of it. The kids are horrible and their parents are worse. Of course we had 1 teacher show up drunk and 1 teacher got high on her lunch… middle school should be banned all together 🤪🤣

How is a student walking away an attack? The student had been told to do push-ups as a punishment. The student told the teacher that he had a wrist injury, and therefore could and would not do push-ups. The teacher got in the students face and spoke in a threatening/inappropriate manner. The student then tried to walk away, the teacher followed him and strangled him. The teacher only stopped when multiple staff members intervened. I’m a teacher and a father. We put a lot of faith in near strangers that our children are safe and respected. If you betray that faith in a physical way, you deserve prison. It’s no different than abusing a senior or a medical patient. Glad bond wasn’t lowered.
The most telling (or even chilling) part of this incident is that others had to intervene to end the assault. I think teachers should be required to pass psychological evaluations before being hired. Some people can only put up with so much and will "snap", and that can be very dangerous.

The defense attorney did his darnedest for his client, which is what he is supposed to do. I don't recognize him so he may not have much, if any, experience with Simpson (almost all criminal defendants are indigent and have appointed PD counsel.) Simpson was somewhat amused by all of this but checked himself so as to not thoroughly humiliate the guy.
