It strikes me that King Aegon V Targaryen was likely the best Targaryen king. Raised by an honorable hedge knight Duncan the Tall, Aegon grew up to be honorable and just. Spending most of his youth among the smallfolk made Aegon the king of the people, fighting for the rights of the weak and poor. Such a great king, and such a tragedy that Tragedy at Summerhall happened
It sad that he’s remember not that great since he’s remembered as the “Unlikely” which tbh I don’t know why cause like you say he did great things but it could be nobles not liking Aegon and especially since his sons never married their supposed betrothals
@@cars81434 He is called “the unlikely” because he was a fourth son in succession but the others in front of him either died or refused/were deemed unfit. His father was also a 4th son.
Best king was jahaerys targaryen. His reign the was most peaceful one for everyone, he was great at fighting & politics. He died of old age

Maybe you can compare him as equal to or more favorably than Daeron II, or hell, even Aegon I, but Jaehaerys I left too big a shadow for his descendants. It was only around and due to his reign that the Seven Kingdoms became one cohesive legal and political entity united by a single monarch under a single law code.

That's actually what's happening these days, with House of the Dragon and the other upcoming spinoffs like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (what you're talking about). D&D have nothing to do with it, and after the way GoT ended and the failed $30 million dollar pilot for Blood Moon that George was "iffy" about from the start, they listened to him and made the Dance of the Dragons show he proposed back in 2015 instead and have him closely involved with everything.

Danny is the most uninteresting one.....her best scene was getting fucked by drago. Literally knew her whole ark after that scene with the dragon eggs. Her brother should've been the one. Him growing into a great targaryen king woulda been a fun ride. Instead we get bipolar dragon Lady who just falls into victories and blowing up century long traditions cause dragons.

Maester Aemon should have accepted the kingship. If he did, House Targaryen would still rule Westeros
He couldn't predict with certainty what was coming. He did what he thought was necessary to prevent another civil war. He also lacked the confidence to meet the challenge.
We can't be sure of that. For all we know Aemon could be a good man, a good maester, but a terrible king.

I understand what you mean but after generations of marrying each other their blood line was pure. But as time went on people saw it as disgusting so the faith tried to ban it and during one of the reigns they started to marry other houses making the line unpure. Which means that Aegon could’ve had Targaryen physical attributes but not the genetics that made him “unburnt”.

Aegon V dies because while trying to hatch Dragon eggs because of the use of wild fire(pig shit according to Tyrion) which can be very dangerous & explosive. Daenerys didn't use wildfire she was using regular fire I'm not even certain she knew what she was doing(if it's proof she was conscious of using blood sacrifice by burning the witch feel free to correct me). Wildfire is like ten thousand times more powerful than regular fire.

Although I enjoyed Season 8 of GOT, knowing it could have been better, it’s hard for me to look forward to these new series. Both of them. I think for me it wasn’t so much that Season 8 was disappointing (although I still understood its outcome or more specifically, HER outcome) I felt it was unwise that they were fan catering in Season 6 & 7, then decided Season 8 would be as the first few seasons were, shocking and surprising with lead characters dying. The times waiting between Season 7 and Season 8 was enough time for me to lose some interest. That added to Season 8’s disappointment. Whether D&D ever come back to the screen, let’s give them some credit, they were responsible for the first 4 Seasons that got us all hooked. I realize they won’t be participating in these 2 new series, but imagine the pressure for those that are. They better come out with it quickly is the only thing I have to say.
