    I might be in a minority (not sure where the fandom at large stands on this topic), but I think Dearon was, in fact, son of Naerys and Aegon, whether he liked it or not. Naerys was more suited to be a septa and doesn't strike me as a cheating type. I believe her frail constitution made Aemon very protective of her, which could look like his siblings ganging up on him to the King. Plus, he simply didn't like them as people. Naerys was quiet and pious, and Aemon, brave worrior, loyal to a fault and honouring his Kingsguard vowes to his death.

    • @Laramaria2
      @Laramaria2 Рік тому +21

      I don't think she cheated. AT ALL.
      I think she didn't even want to have romantic relationships, and knowing she was fragile and how Aegon would have no respect for her, Aemon probably was terrified for his darling sister as Naerys wound have a horrible future either way: Aegon would not respect her and would continue to abuse her for years or she would die giving birth... He probably wanted her to have a better life, but it was beyond him to save her 😢

      People get caught up with the naerys and aemon being the true parents of daeron because Daemon blackfire being true born heir of the kingdom but declared a bastard and having to fight for his right to the throne yet tragically fails and his decendents tragically fail in each of their attempts as well makes the story more cinematic and poetic but thats not how george writes. George doesnt really do the romantic fantasy king in exile heros journey trope. I think aegon the IV was a terrible man who created instability and people used that instability for their own advantage like they always do.

    I'll be honest, I don't believe the rumors about Aemon and Naerys because why wouldn't Aegon just have them executed or exiled? I mean, we know he had no love for them, and if it's true they did have an affair and tried to pass their bastard off as his heir, he would've been justified by the courts of Westeros. We know he's not above it, given Barbra and Torrence, and he could've just remarried Daena or named a bastard as heir.

      At some point yes. However all the original files are long gone, and honestly some of the early ones are very old now and not really at the quality level i want to put out. Namely audio and my delivery. So i'm planning on remaking the Jaehaerys videos, i'm just not sure what that looks like yet. Individual videos replacing the old ones or a single big new one. Given the length of Jaehaerys reign and how much content we're talking about i might break it up into the different eras of his reign. But long story short, in some form it will happen.

    I always thought that it could be that any hints of legitimacy or illegitimacy of Aegons firstborn son hold the keys to who may end up on the Throne in the books, or at least the only person with a true claim. If Demon Blackfyre is the eldest legit heir to Aegon, then that would make both Jon and Danyreas pretenders. This would make Young Griff the most likely Blackfyre heir, and he could end up being the one true heir to the throne.
