Coming back to this video with the announcement in like 12 hours. I feel like Janfon's work inspired Fatshark to make this a reality. Thank you and keep up the great work.
One thing I haven't noticed anyone talking about is the fact that kruber has Bardin's Shield. How he looks at it with something of reverence or even sadness is pretty good storytelling
The detail in the martial art is what makes this for me, from Krubers clubbing of that rat, to the Stormvermins halberd form, and then Viktor switching to the spike , my eyes turned to hearts, Sigmar bless you!
Not sure I've ever seen anyone use a halberd like that. Loses over half the reach of it to choke up like that, and the most dangerous bit is pointed 180 degrees from the enemy. Kruber was using a short-reach weapon set, too. Major advantage was using it like a traditional spear. Then again, it was a Skaven. Intelligence is not their forte. They would misuse a weapon.
@@JS-kr8fs I'm not a weapons expert but I know I've seen this guard used before, or guards similar to it where the pointed end is away initially but is later incorporated into strikes later. Idk if its the best fighting form, like I said, I'm not an expert.
@@resolutionblaze363 I'm guessing it has to do with eventually bringing the heavier, bladed end of the weapon down on a target, after using the wood end to displace someone's guard. Though, you can see how wide open you are below in this stance, and how long it'd take to bring the weapon down, in how Kruber got under and into his guard, wrapping the Skaven up, and just beat him to death. Pretty poor choice of holds, considering. Very Skaven. It probably only learned that one, and didn't understand the flaws of it.
@@JS-kr8fs ua-cam.com/video/0_hEX6PRgW4/v-deo.html "Halberd fighting basics from Joachim Meyers book about the knightly art of swordsmanship - 1570 A.D. I would be if they did. He would only have 2 kinds of hammers to choose from, and none of saltz Careers have hammers. There will never be a healer in the Game so he would be left as an armored hammerer with buffs.aka the foodknight
@@darephish2413 Having a healer who kind of "actively" heals I think would be a bad decision but they could very easily have it be a slow passive regeneration applied to party members (or party members who are close by), as there's already a precedent for this in the Waystalker talent that allows the Aramanthe passive regen to spread to other party members. His career ability could also have some healing effect - again, a similar thing already exists, as the Mercenary class has a talent that allows the ability to revive fallen allies
This would be perfect Markus was in a state of Alcoholic depression until The Lady reached out to him and gave him hope again and currently Saltzpyre is going through a state of feeling lost and going mad from a sense of hopelessness and despair that all the heretics and Skaven have brought around them and is wondering if he’s still on a righteous path or not. Imagine if theres a trailer where Sigmar reachers out to Saltzpyre like the Lady reached out to Kruber, as Saltzpyre rises and dawns Warrior Priest armor It would fit perfectly with the DLC so far having the characters finding purpose from a higher power like Markus and Kerillian (except Gorekson)
I had an idea like that previously for the trailer, actually - Saltzpyre was wounded, approached the statue and got turned right then and there into a Warrior Priest. However I thought it would be too similar to the Grail Knight trailer and abandoned the idea for a month before the new one came to mind.
Gorekson found himself in his previously abandoned love of engineering, which you could possibly argue was the Ancestor Morgrim (the ancestor patron of Engineers) inspiring him.
The ending shot was pure kino A minor criticism would be that the doors opening just before that felt like they were lacking something, perhaps visible light rays shooting off to the sides or the silhouette of a horde to go along with the horde/finale (can't rightly remember) music.
This wouldn't be a bad idea for a DLC salty career. It fits his general vibe and dramatically changes how the character plays. Turning him from a squishy DPS into a tanky guy who heals as he smites. Perhaps make his ult give the party temp health or let him passively generate it for anyone near him as he attacks but not for himself.
HOLY SIGMAR! You have indeed blessed our ravaged forms with this awesome animation! Oh my god Kruber taking on the clanrat was great! Every time you upload it is a treat! Keep it up, its great seeing your work improve.
At first I was disappointed that he didn’t have the band of penance around his head in the real thing. Turns out, you can get it with the cosmetic upgrade. And because of this video, I can’t imagine it any other way. (Though the golden laurel does look really cool.)
In order to commemorate hitting 1000 subscribers, here's the thing a healthy chunk of the community is waiting for while the Kerillian career and Chaos Wastes are in the works. While there are also more unique and interesting takes on Saltzpyre being proposed by the fandom, like the People's Poet or Ulric Priest or even him becoming a vampire, a Warrior Priest is, you know, the go-to. That and I managed to port a Warrior Priest model from Total War Warhammer 2 and really wanted to do something with it Feedback would be appreciated! Thanks for watching!
@@BLS31 In his backstory he had a run in with vampires, while its a neat idea of him becoming a vampire, its like 100% not going to happen. Just something thats fun to think about, What is pretty much assured is him becoming a warrior priest of Sigmar as his next class.

it's kinda sad, that when opening Vermintide 2 I won't be hearing Saltzpyre activating his stand with the words "Blessed Sigmar the World" anymore, but I guess it's the time for Sienna to step up. She waited so long
Thankfully because I switched to Eevee each frame didn't take 30 seconds, but 2, allowing me to render everything in one evening/night, it took me about 4 hours total. I will keep using it from now on as I get more ambitious and don't want to wait half a day for things to get done
It is shocking how similar the official trailer is to this fanimation! The location and pose at the end are identical, even the armour is similar. Well done, Janfon1. You may have had some influence.
I legitimately love the details in this, the sad look at bardins shield and the proper historical stance of pole weapon deuling the black rat uses. This is amazing.
I watch this and think "Wow, on par or better than the actual one". Then I check the dates and realize yours came out beforehand. Absolutely phenomenal, Fatshark owes you so damn much. And as usual the attention to detail in the choreography and expressions show off how much a labor of love this is to you. The line in the official trailer that I love the most is "to bring hope to those who have none.", and here we see the same thing in action: Saltzpyre, a man who once left nothing but death, destruction, and tears in his wake, is now helping those in need, healing the wounded, and being a shining beacon in the darkness. The perfect growth for a complicated character.
Thank you, technicalities-wise I find it dated compared to my current set of skills, so kind words like this make me look back and smile on my progress over the years
That was incredible! Not just the class idea itself but on the purely visual side of things the fight scenes were great and using the imagery of the sigmar statue we're familiar with like that seems like something fatshark would actually do in a trailer.
“Blessed Sigmar, the world drowns in corruption. Your empire is aflame with heresy. The faithful perish and the wicked multiply. Blessed Sigmar, lend me your strength. Grant me the will to purge the corrupt, to smite the heretic, to bring hope when hope is lost. By the Comet and the Hammer, I pledge to the coming battle. I vow not to waver and never retreat, to stand tall against the flames of perdition, to drive back the shadow of Chaos with your holy light.” -Victor Saltzpyre, Warrior Priest of Sigmar

First he would have a yellow background like Grail Knight and he would have an AOE career skill that makes him stealthed while healing allies His passives would be something like reviving allies will heal them or like kruber’s foot knight passive it would heal them a little while near victor That would be how warrior priest would work honestly I think it would be really cool to have this. Keep up the great work
Wouldnt really work with the games concept so far. He could only use 1hand or 2handed Hammer, which none of the other saltz Careers have, he couldnt be a healer because it would break the Game. You would be left with heavy armor, a hammer and buffs. Thats called krubers foodknight, just with fewer weapons

Maybe have the camera follow the attack, and exaggerate the hits a bit more. If you do a heavy hit, follow it through all the way to the end of their reach, if you have a hit that doesn't land, have the character recoil a bit. Otherwise, you're amazing, and you do a great job of using the models you have at your disposal. Thanks for all the amazing content, people like you are why I love this community!
I see what you mean with the camera and the characters exaggerating the impact/recoil, I think I could indeed add that on top of the existing camer shake. I would have to be careful with it, though, so it doesn't become to chaotic and hard to read. Aaaaand yeah, it was my first time doing running animations, practice makes perfect Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!
@@Janfon1 of course! I know how annoying it is to ask for feedback and not actually get any. You have very good camera work already, but as everything can, it can be improved.
