for Indians, it is very easy to claim China copy, however, 1.even assume it is true, it does not mean the copied one is any less lethal in the battle field. 2. it is useless to say that while at the same time India still cannot make anything. 3. even with full license from Russia for making Su 30 MKI, India up to now still cannot make all parts for it, but need to directly import 1500 parts and materials from Russia, so it means, India has no ability even copying. and the cost of made in India Su-30 MKI is more expensive than directly purchase it from Russia.

Su 35 was very good deal for China, its cost only $80 million each, (compare to $250 million each for Rafale for India), at the same time, with the deal, China got 200 AL 41 engines (max power 141 KN), China needed Su 35 for the long distance cruise/fight to SCS. Su 35 deal was conducted before J16's readiness.

If China reverse engineered all Russian Fighters and still their relationship is Fine. Then India should have at least reverse engineered Russian Jet engines to develop technology for Kaveri engine.
China purchased SU35 to study its engine because it uses the best Russian engine and china after study of AL41 engine they develop there latest engine for fighters as for J16 and J10C and now they have also develop the latest engine for J20 😮

Hey defence matrix, in todays video you stated that after failure of ws15 engines in 2019 in their trials china approached russia for al31 engines but only if they purchased some su35 from russia but how is this possible because the deliveries of su35 to china were completed in 2018 so did they gave some follow on orders???
You also talked about a version of ws 10 engines capable of thrust vectoring that china showcased in 2018 and later you also mentioned about the ws10b engines that came out in 2019-20 so are the two engines same or different???

The version which chinese licensed manufactured j-16 was from su-30mkk which did not have thrust vectoring variant of al-31 engines Only recently the chinese have developed the thrust vectoring variant of ws-10 engines so it is doubtful whether the chinese have already fitted j-16 of which they already had more than 400+ aircrafts in thier service even before they developed the thrust vectoring variant of ws-10 engines whereas iaf su-30mki came with thrust vectoring variant al-31 fp right from its inception barring an intial batch of 8 su-30k variant which was later on replaced with su-30 mki variant. Hence to assume that chinese flankers are better than Indian flankers need not necessarily be true.
Also one unique advantage of iaf su-30mki was when it was inducted during early 2000's it had the best of french, Israeli , Russian and indian avionics/weapon systems but also due to non upgradation of major components for nearly 20 years now su-30mki has started lagging behind in technologies.
Man that seems like copium but iaf should not take any risk and go for the best option asap .

Chinese trust their own jets but it's not 100 % battle ready. They're not sure about it, especially when it comes to neighbours like taiwan and India. They need extra fighter jets so, their best place to get the jets is only Russia. After 4-5 years they might change this to Turkey because of newly launched Kaan. They're also waiting and watching all the moves from Turkey. Secondly it'll help improve their own jets because mostly their jets are based on Russian tech. It'll help them to build better fighter jets. Now we also need F35s and Rafale ( minimum 200-300) just to match up with our 2 neighbours. We can also build 10-15 squadron of LCA Tezas just to manage the current situation. Then only New defence investments will come to India. Only then new defence companies will invest more in India. And it'll also help to grow our own empire. Lastly, it can be done in a year. We can do partnerships and collaboration with foreign countries to get the jets immediately to match up the competition. But if we do so, how we will support our own jets?. To become a better stronger nation in defence, we need to invest more in our own R & D. We need to speed up the process to build the jets. Minimum 50-60 jets a year. That's how we can arrange the jets for ourselves. And this is not only for our nation. We can gift 1 or 2 LCA MK1 jets to each of our friendly nation, who'll be proudly take it and be in our favour all the time. Who'll buy also in future as well if they get the enough money. But its hard to manage everything in one go. Hoping for the best. Let's see how Govt rolls up everything.

Su-35 is very good fighter jet & in war time 2 latest Su-35's can outperform Su-30's due to being more modern & recent fighter jet with modern avionics and technology its engine is also way way better than that of Su30. We are talking about Super Sukhoi upgrade for years to tackle Su-35's of China. No matter how much good J16 is on papers but it us not gonna match Su-35. Though Russian Weapons are not as capable as Western ones but are far better than Chinese Fighter Jets.
Russian T-90 uses Chinese infrared sensor from China's civilian Guide Infrared in early batch. And Chinese weapon industry is far ahead of Russia. Russia even needs to import gas turbine from China.

Russia helped china in development of weapon none of Russian wepons are made be copying & revere engineering Western weapons like china. Su-35 is an improved version as well as amalgamation of technology used in su-27 and su-30, with addition of technologies not available when su-27/su-30 was designed.
