Actually not quiet as the A-!0 is close ground support only with its main armament being its 40 mm Gau avenger... whereas the Jaguar is a Multi Role fighter where it can be used for ground support, bombing and air suppoprt ( using sidewinders or Matra magic) and its supersonic

The Jaguar is really an antiquated plane & conceptually flawed as it cannot fly at any decent high altitude & gets shot down easily when faced with a decent anti aircraft defense. This was pointed out by the Americans & occurred during the Iraq war when many Jaguars were shot down.
The British then brought in Bucaneer aircraft which the Jaguar was meant to and had replaced. After the war it was quickly ejected from the UK Air Force. India should get rid of it as soon as possible.
Thts correct, it's not at all relevant in today's modern warfare. These planes have low powered engines and outdated electronics, an easy kill for other advanced 4plus generation fighters and modern anticrarft guns and SAM's now. IAF should replace them quickly with rafales under MMRCA
It's going to be get retired soon but they are being used even today because it's better to have something than having nothing. Hope the Tejas replaces them as it is best aircraft for roles of jaguar

Jaguar did more than we expected but I feel we need to reaplace them by 2040 & find a more advanced dedicated bomber & air support aircraft. We can't win a war with China & Pakistan with Jaguar as a Dedicated bomber other than Using Mirage as bomber. Our enemie China is upgrading at very good pace & Pakistan also possess some More superior US F16 than the Russian Planes. We need to wake up & leave our reluctant attitude. If Balakot had not happened who know we would've still not got Rafale. We must leave typical Indian attitude & be proactive rather than Reactive.
f16 is from the 1980s and one got shot down by a mig 21. su30mki and mig29upg are very capable russian aircrafts even today. they are not meant for offensive mission but they are for defence. for offense we have rafales and tejas.

Jaguar will get detected easily by modern radars and shot by missile defense. People should watch what is happening in the Russia - Ukraine war. The SU 24 are similar to Jaguars but a no. of them have been shot down by Ukrainian forces. These flying fossils from a bygone era will be the death of Indian pilots.
first of all these aircrafts are used as bombers and not fighters. and bombers are always escorted by fighters. so they are gonna be escorted and then they will drop the bombs. but ofc you need to counter the radars and thats where the fighters come in, they will defend the jaguars from threats. but all of this is not needed as we got brahmos now.
@@shashwatroy2704 They used to be used as bombers. A jaguar has 7 hard points, with a weapons carrying capacity of 4500 kg, max speed 1.1 mach, etc;. Now compare it with SU 30 MKI 12 hardpoints, weapons carrying capacity of 8000 kb, max speed of Mach 2. We are not sure with the weakened engines if this piece of shit will even fly. Its a flying coffin in a real war and should be junked.
@@r8rdarklord sir su30mki is a multirole air superiority fighter solely based for Air to air combat... it wont perform well on ground attack operations... just spewing physical specs of the aircraft wont make u right here. jaguar is sure old and thats the exact reason why we are retiring it but matter of fact: these are the only fighter jets in the world which are capable of carrying a nuclear warhead ( well now su30 sure can carry brahmos but its very recent ) nd coming back to the role... yes jaguar was solely made for air to ground operations and its very good in it... compare it with our rival pakistan : they have super old mirages which dont even perform well.
@@shashwatroy2704 The keyword is multirole, which means it can be air superiority, interceptor, and ground attack aircraft. The pure Ground attack fighter jets are a thing of the past. If you look at USAF, they don't have any because it's not needed. The modern fighter jet airframe is made of composites and has radar absorbent paint & therefore a small RCS.
A Jaguar even though it flies lower will be detected by today's radars & will be a sitting duck for missile defense unless you have complete air superiority. Good luck having that against China or even Pakistan. There is a reason why no military in the world uses them.
Regarding the ability to drop nuclear bombs both the Rafales and SU 30 MKIs can be tooled to carry them. I have asked this question many times to retired Air Force officers as to why we persist with them but haven't received a satisfactory answer.
@@r8rdarklord multirole means the thing "can" do it and doesnt necessarily mean it has expertise in everything it does. the jaguar has expertise in ground attacks and hence it is used.... why do you think the US uses a10 warthog if ground attack aircrafts are a thing of past?

I have the utmost respect for the armed forces, but we need to be more critical of IAF, they lost face in balakot, according to neautral sources we failed to hit intended targets, failed to detect and intercept pak jets when IAF was on high alert, lost a mig 21 and the pilot was captured, and in friedly fire we lost 6 officers, that was one big debacle and an embaressment. Its not about being in a comfor zone of a narrative of how we are better than pak, or about comment wars, its about understabding the reality and constantly trying to improve and not being complacent. The IAF has a lot of work to do, Pak has spent their money wisely, their airforce is leaner, has lesser aurcraft but it is qualitatively better than IAF, we will do well to learn, no shame in admiting a fact.
