Great video, thanks for that! One thing I would like to mention: Never ever turn engines backwards.

Great vid, thanks for sharing. Im doing same as you with a GL650, I wish Honda put a mark on the camshaft to let you know its not 180° off.. I have the heads off so I can tell where the cam is

Dude, that movement is due to the cam cycle position of the right cylinder. Try this: line up on TR (TDC-#2) remove the rockers on #2. Roll to TL then do the chain. No movement because ALL valves are closed. Then roll back to TR, reinstall the rockers on #2 & adjust lash Only roll the motor Clock-wise EVER

I wish they'd bring it back. What would be even cooler is if they made one with 4x125cc or 200cc cylinders. Don't get me wrong, their new engines are amazing, but they don't have that muscle look that older models had.

Do you have a link to a timing chain kit? I can’t find anything with the chain, guides, and adjuster.

Thank you for this video! What is your opinion for buying reproduction alternative Tensioner blade? Logic is to go with original but there is the price that is almost 4x.

Would the cam still move if you back out all the valve spring tension to keep the pushrods from pushing on it?

I'm guessing it wouldn't move. It's worth a try. If you do it, let me know how it goes.

I saw you had, what appeared to be, a gasket kit. Was that kit for this engine? Is there an engine rebuild kit for the motor? If so, where can I find them?

I bought a cheap kit off of eBay, but later regretted it. It's better to buy quality gaskets from a store that sells OEM (Honda) parts. I like these three: www.partzilla.com/ and www.davidsilverspares.com/ and www.cmsnl.com/

don't turn an engine backwards. keep going forward until you reach tdc again.

You are exactly right, and I wish I would have remembered that when I made the video. Good advice. However, I should say that everything was fine once I got it all back together.

Honda could have gone gear drive on this engine...Fuck timing chains!

Can this be done on the bike?
