The advice is wrong in that wholegrains ALSO raise blood sugar levels, esp with fruit on top. Also wrong about bacon & saturated fat. Saturated fat has been falsely demonised for years, and is actually necessary for brain health. ..it has NOTHING to do with weight gain or heart disease. Elderly eat insufficient protein so bacon & eggs would be very healthy breakfast. Sugar & refined carbs is the big culprit, people eat far too much bread & bakery goods, and eat too frequently -these all raise blood sugar levels & eventually lead to blocked arteries
