Flipping off the cop was letting the cop know he strongly disapproved of the officer having nothing better to do than encroach on private property and cause problems, even after he gave the officer good reasons as to why the vehicles were there.

The derelict vehicle law seems like it would be in violation of the 4th amendment. If they can enter and search for "tags" on them whether they are in date or not .
How can they search for a tag on private property without a warrant. If they can't read the tag from the road or street.

Question for you (or for anyone), I can see the officer making the threat accusation being terminated and criminal charges for lying about the threat considering the Detective in question (or any officer) could of come up with handguns drawn and possibly even opening fire based on the threat allegation, why exactly was the detective fired for responding to a call made by an officer for responding to said threat?
I mean, the Detective was going based on what the officer said and had no clue if it was true or not, I get that, but just not understanding why he was the one terminated for responding to what was said over the radio. Shouldn't that also fall back on the lying cop who started all of this?

There *was* a town ordinance that made it an offense, yes. ATA read it to you. What you do is turn the car nose out so the rear plate, the only one with an expiration sticker, does not face the street. Then an officer must justify going onto your property to see the expiration, since cops aren't fond of actually getting out of their cars, this is theaeasiest way around a cite. And the ordinance, as read, does not prohibit keeping unregistered cars in an enclosed garage or inside a fence, out of sight.

Alot of states are like this. I inherited my grandmothers car, one of the only things I had from her. I already had my own car so I parked her car at the back of my driveway, behind my house. There were only 2 cars in my driveway so I didn't have a car filled, junky yard or anything like that. Within 2 months I got a notice in the mail that I was being charged an initial $150 fee and then $100 every month after if I didn't get the car registered AND insured (even though i had no plans of driving it). I had turned the old plates in (they were from another state) so it wasn't a fine associated with that. Some person working for the county apparently has the job of diving around and looking in people's yards for cars with no tags and then fining them. Keep in mind this car was a good distance behind my house, at the end of a driveway that curved a little so they had to of come on my property to see it didn't have a tag. I just wanted to keep 1 car to have for a backup and for memories. I couldn't afford the insurance cost every month at the time, I was barely paying the bills I already had so I had to sell it. 😢😢😢😢
      It's rediculous....land of the free my @$$.

That's not what happened. The other officer lied to him. Said he flipped him off AND threatened him. The problem is he never found out what that threat was. He never suggested flipping him off was a threat. In fact, he outright said it's not a threat.

This channel is what we need. And this channel is what is needed for everyone law enforcement officer to watch as well as understanding case laws to basic laws.

I wanna thank Audit The Audit real quick.
Because of this channel (and Andrew Flusche) I've gotten a much more deeper appreciation for learning about my rights.
A few days ago, a police officer showed up at my house. I refused to open the door and didn't even acknolwedge him.
He then opens the front glass door. I assumed it was to put his card on my door.
To my shock, the deadbolt starts slaming against the deadbolt housing.
This cop just tried to force his way into my house without a warrant or any type of exigent circumstance!!!
What was he going to do next??? "Uh, excuse me your front door was open." No, it wasn't!
I immediately went to the sherriff's site and filed an official complaint of violation of my 4th amendment rights. I didn't even know you could do that until I started wating AiT.
People, educate yourself on your rights! Don't let a police officer abuse them and trample them. Because they will.
Cops are nothing more than humans like you and I and there are plenty that just "do as they please" with complete disregard for the law and the rights we're guaranteed as citizens of the US.
Thank you AiT and Andrew Flusche for helping to educate me.
Edit: And got the response from the filed copmlaint.
I have a feeling most of you will be saying "Not even surprised...cops protect cops".
    ==========
I am in receipt of your complaint dated 02/13/24 and your allegations against Deputy . Because Deputy did not encounter anyone at your residence, he did not activate his body worn camera.
I have, however, received a report from him regarding his actions, submitted without the benefit of him first reviewing your complaint.
He advised that after observing the delivery driver drop a package off on your front porch, he approached your residence and noticed that the package was gone, indicating that someone was home. He advised that he opened the outer porch door and knocked on the interior door several times, perhaps somewhat forcefully to get your attention, knowing that you were home.
In doing so, he noticed that the door seemed to be loose on its hinges or otherwise not securely fastened.
He also indicated that while he may have touched the door handle to see if the door was in fact secure, he did not attempt to open it.
Upon your refusal to come to the door he left, ensuring to secure the storm door as your note requested.
    ==========
He just said he knew I was at the residence. Why didn't he turn his body camera on?
He did all this "Starsky and Hutch" detective work, keeping track of my fucking packages and when I picked them up!
So if he knew I was there, why wasn't the camera rolling?
And in what scenario is it ever appropritate to "touch a door knob and make sure it's secure?!"
You guys ever heard someone fabricate lies as they go along? B/c that's exactly what this guy is doing.
It's like Bill Clinton saying "I did not inhale! I put the joint to my mouth but I didn't inhale!"
The cop is saying "I did not try to force my way in. I put my hand on the door knob to have a moment with it, but I did not turn it and push!"
In other words, they deleted the footage and the burden of proof is on me.
I didn't video record the son of a bitch b/c I thought it was the UPS driver. My phone was downstairs, not on me.
I used to defend police officers. I told people "Don't forget, there are some good ones."
And now I'm finding it hard to utter those words again. I've never had a positive cop encounter. It either negatively affects me or, at best, is a netural interaction.
When I was attacked, they did nothing.
When my car was broken into (several times), they did nothing.
When my house was robbed and I told them exactly who robbed me and where my stuff was, they did nothing!
WTF is the point of a police officer anymore?!?!
It's just a big fucking game of "who can we throw in jail" for them.
And they're almost untoucheable unless you can record them in the act!
Even then it's not guaranteed anything will happen to them!
    I'm so disgusted!!!!
WTF is happening to our country?!
WTF happened to "Serve and protect"?!

I had a young cop bang on my door at 5am, I answered asking what's going on. By the time I got to the door he was down at the bottom of the stairs so I opened the door and stuck my head out to talk. He said he got a call, so I looked over at the number on my house making sure its still there and asked what address and he said my number but used "apartment A" which was a sign since I'm apartment 1 and never use or heard it referred to A before. Then it became odd, he just stood with a weird smile so I asked if he knows what the call was about, he said he did and just stood there. So I asked if he has a phone # he can call them back because I certainly didn't call and there's no one else home. Finally over his radio someone tells him the women who called says she can see him and he's at the wrong house. He just walked away without saying anything. It was very odd. I'm thinking it was a domestic abuse call since. They got the address wrong.

First of all, that wasn’t the chief.
Secondly, qualified immunity is not something that needs to be “claimed.” It is a legal doctrine that inherently applies to all public servants unless a COURT finds they acted in bad faith. Lt. Dan verbalizing it to the complainant does nothing to strength or weaken the officers case, it’s entirely irrelevant to any subsequent court proceedings.

Agree but dislike the term and function of "citizen. ". It was changed with the 14 amendment basically making us all slave employees of the corporation known as the United States of America. Slight changes in wording and capitalization have entirely changed the nature of our relationship and contract with our "country" and "government" which is no longer remotely what it originally was. Worth some research.....
State national/sovereign/natural person/secured party creditor, the real definitions of terms like person which now include corporations, the corporation made in your name via the birth certificate with which most people identify - there's a lot of BS out there but there's truth.
