Killing K'Ehleyr is one of the most painful things I've ever seen on Star Trek. Suzy Plakson infused so much life and awesome into her performance. She actually perfect, and a magnificent foil for Worf. I know why Worf was so grumpy, I would be too if I couldn't make her my wife.

Ya Know...I was watching the clip of her death. As they wheeled her out she was covered over. They could actually bring her back (in the show Picard)...maybe explain it as Crusher being able to bring her back...but because of something she learned she had to stay 'dead" to protect the Empire, Worf and her son.
      I'd buy it...K'Ehleyr was a great character!

It it interesting to note, that neither the Federation or the Klingon have decided to hold something this important in more safer and respected location like Earth or the Klingon Home World or at a star base.

I would have loved for TNG to explore the original concept for Klingon culture, that is the warriors we all saw in TOS were basically from the warrior caste of Klingon society, that the whole civilization isn't comprised of warriors and soldiers and the like, it's just that Jim Kirk never had a chance to interact with their artisans or merchants while he was busy keeping the cold war between the Federation and the Klingon Empire from becoming a full on shooting war (while occasionally shooting at Klingons). That said I'm sad Alexander eventually changed his mind about not being a warrior, I'd have dug seeing him become a Klingon filmmaker or something.

@4.24 - Picard's initial exchange with Duras shows just how self-centered Duras and the Klingons are on this matter. Duras says that Kempec made a foolish decision by choosing Picard to be involved. It is intersting to note that neither Duras nor the Klingons seem to critsize Picard's recent assimilation by the Borg. I would assume even Duras must been aware that Picard had been assimilated by the Borg, but his apparent hatred for Picard seems to have nothing to do with that. Duras is clearly self-centered and selflish with Picard meddling in Klingon affairs that don't concern him and Duras doesn't use Picard's assimilation against him.

The writers goofed. Kehyelr didn’t tell Worf about his son because she knew he’d insist on taking the oath, which she didn’t want to do. But that made her seem self-centered. The writers missed an easy excuse. They could’ve said that once she learned of Worf’s discommendation, she chose to keep his identity a secret out of concern for her child’s safety.

@@Dowlphin Trek Lore is almost mostly fantasy land where everything is just fine, and everyone can almost do no wrong. Later on, you have good guy Starfleet officers turning into villains and just as ruthless and any Klingon or Romulan. Just remember that politics is dirty and ruthless, and you better get use to being a necessary dick whenever it becomes necessary.

Warf was raised on Earth with Human parents.
He's like those black guys in America who identify with all this African ideology with Nigerian art all over their house, but are native to New Jersey and only speak English.

      Different (alien) standards of attractiveness.
Would you find a Horta attractive? Yet they prefer how they appear to each other than you. They would consider you to be incredibly ugly. Another example would be the fish creatures from one of the earlier episodes, Worf considers them to be noble looking, but we see them as very ugly & they would not find our physical appearance to be appealing - more like appalling.
