Thing is, in this timeline by 1943 germany didn't have to worry about huge land war of attrition against USSR,it had access to all of the resources and slave labor to the west of Urals,and it had trapped and destroyed virtually all of the british army and 2/3rds of their navy in the Mediterranean. In TNO timeline, Sealion happens in summer 1943,around the time of IRL battle of Kursk,and Germans win because literally the only competition they have left is USA,which is busy getting its ass handed to itself in the pacific

When you got to Burgundy you should have just said "Streng Geheim" and went to the next country.
So in terms of themes, the divergences can be described as poorer allied preparation and Japanese technological advantage/more time to advance. I can buy that, the only thing that's hard to buy is Italian competence. Maybe the wiki has more details.
Also German belief in nukes, Hitler hated the idea of nuclear science. Also the absurdism of Britain somehow getting a majority of its navy trapped in the Mediterranean.
The only way I can see that happening is that they get better officers, their soldiers fought like lions, their officers ran like donkeys.
This entire scenario is ludicrous. Hoover winning on 1932 is so unlikely the only way it would have happened is if fdr just suddenly died

literally the first thing mentioned, how hoover was reelected, is already impossible no matter what. he had no charisma, nor did he help the American people during the great depression. his ideology was "lmao no, you help yourself". fdr won by a landslide in the 1932 for a reason. also, Hoover had a down in popularity just because of that the great depression started during his term, so some people already stopped liking him then. So, I guess the point of this message is: be happy you are in our timeline
Slight correction: Hoover didn't do anything when the economy crashed is a myth. Hoover actually tries to fix the economy but simply make it worse

Tbh this scenario requieres a certain amount of suspension of disbelief. Even the devs say the lore doesn’t totally make sense. It just that Germany winning ww2 is so unlikely stuff kinda has to be hand waved.

One thing I find off about TNO's setting is how so many American presidents are the same. Would Eisenhower have become president without his wildly successful military career and the name recognition that brought? No.
TNO is the best timeline because Korean culture gets completely wiped out and assimilated, so KPOP will never exist. Mega blessed.

IRL Bukharin's NEP (it was his idea more than Lenin's) would have probably been better for the people in the USSR, but it might not have built up its military capability enough to take out Hitler

Air superiority was not a matter of technological advancements, but rather of target priority. The Germans came dangerously close to crippling the RAF multiple times during the Battle of Britain but never quite pushed the advantage because of lack of intel. The Germans couldn't when they were winning or not, so they kept switching the focus of their bombing raids.

Despite me thinking Germany had no hope of victory in WW2, I still think you did a decent job at making a dramatic portrayal of this Hoi4 mod (even though I'm pretty sure that the mod creators clearly know little to nothing about what actually caused the Germans to lose the war in our timeline)

it is. it's one of the few HOI4 mods where there's no sense of hope or "good". in this mod you come to a point where the countries that still either have racial segregation/apartheid (like south africa or the US) or are under a fascist dictatorship (like italy) are considered the good guys

It quite is. Even the "good guys" are not so good after all. Take the USA, for example, which literally has a path where Richard Nixon can continue the segregation and revoke the Civil Rights Act. Then, you have the worst of the worst, the crème de la crème of insanity and ideological fanatism in the SS Burgundy State. Even Aryans are put into work camps in that state and there are actual executions in order to upkeep the food supply, anyone who doesn't work, doesn't deserve food so they are killed. The only man who can live a decent life in that state is Himmler himself and his very close SS minions.

So, 2 minutes into the video, and it just shows how bad of a spot The Axis were in WW2. Basically every important event of our history had to be retconned for Germany to, and just barely, stand a chance to win the war.

In lore, it is said the yankees would have won in the pacific and at least freed england if it werent for the fact the nazis somehow got the nuke

My main 2 issues with this scenario are the Implications that the Molotov Ribbentrop pact still went ahead, and that operation sea lion was a swift victory.
A struggling USSR without Stalin’s ambitions would not want to invade Poland, nor would it agree to do so with the Germans. If WW2 started over Poland nothing could stop Hitler from pushing deep into the Union with its extra land.
Also although sea lion was close to occurring in our timeline the main reason it didn’t was because the RAF was a monster. Also with the loss of Africa the Empire could fully commit to the defence of the kingdom. If Britain could navally dominate the Atlantic to get North American support Sea lion would be similar to our Barbarossa, with London as a Stalingrad, but eventually the Riech would have to retreat to the Atlantic wall

TNO lore hardly makes any sense lmao, i don't see why it has such a big cult following for the mod.
It's also filled to the brim with errors in terms of its althistory: The Nazis were staunch opponents to the Atlantropa-Projekt (hence the whole "Lebensraum im Osten"), so it made zero sense to implement it.
Same goes for the underdeveloped Italian forces magically beating the British in North Africa.

@@TeaMenace that is true. US wasn't in their ideology, but the USSR was. The whole point of WW2 was basically to destroy communism. It might've been possible but very difficult. They could have made some slight tweaks, have more competent allies, and better tactics. For example, Italy made Barbarossa get delayed by a few crucial months due to the invasion of Yugoslavia. But in the end, the Germans lost. And it's hard to dictate if they could've won, because they didn't
