I think the best part of the Heydrich path is the ending. He saved the world, and humanity, and even his family... but he was too late to save himself. Or even, as it turns out, his country too.
The "German Anarchy" mechanic is a really cool feature because it makes sense that the nation would have hit breaking point. With Heydrich's suicide, the government has collapsed for a third time within a decade. The scars of two bloody civil wars are still cut deep across the cities and countryside. And now it's all happening again, but with basically no legitimate contenders left to fight for the throne, it truly becomes every man for himself. A fittingly tragic end to such a dark and dismal story.
The question is would Germany remain in Anarchy or would Order return
For the return of stability I could see that at first a warlord period emerges between different groups and slowly Germany is reunified
These warlords could include liberals, socialists, Monarchists, National Socialists, SS remnants, militarists etc

I like how Hydrich legit becomes a good guy as the story progresses, going down the redemption path.
I would say that he doesn't redeem just relauses how doomed his ideology is
He stopped nuclear armageddon, but that doesn't redeem anything that he has done before, so really it's less of a redemption and more like he learned how much of a failure the ideology he has followed is

I mean.... "good guy". It's not like he regrets all the nazi stuff prior to Himmler's plot.
This was a very surprising story. I never thought that the Man with the Iron Heart would have done such things against Himmler in order to save the world. This TNO mod story line is an interesting one to say the least and the ending reminded me of Code Geass' ending in that both main characters committed a form of suicide thinking it would save their country and the world. Hell, some of the news clippings really made Heydrich look like Lelouch with the whole playing scenarios in his head.

I’ve seen a different idea for his story on Reddit, wherein he’s more like his OTL self in being a vicious, highly-competent, fearsome leader who’s looking to grab his own power and massively expands the SS and Gestapo to essentially create a Nazi East Germany but over the whole territory of the Großgermanisches Reich. I find that more interesting than his portrayal in current TNO. His current portrayal doesn’t really fit him, and there’s no way he’d ever fall for the Spartanist dogma.
Believe it or not, similar thing happened to OTL Heydrich‘s brother Heinz. He was so appalled by the scale of the Final Solution that he smuggled forged identity documents through newspapers to help Jews escape.
When he thought that he was being investigated about to be found out, he shot himself. Turned out that it was only an investigation regarding the newspaper‘s paper shortage.
@RegencyOfCarnaro In TNO this was Himmler's dogma because apparently he thought old Adolf wasn't crazy enough.
@@CvlturedSage In this world Heydrich underlies under shadow of Himmler, and gets influenced by his dogma. Heydrich understands how much pushed Himmler is. "He soon understood: no bunker can stand this mount of time, the Aryan race will not rise, no one will". He did not "redeem" himself, he just soon understood that Himmler is the true core for death of Aryan nation, he took the fact that he believed him too closely. Just to make conclusion that Germany is dying because of him, and his blindness to Himmler.
I'd like to see Swince play this mod as the iberian union and help out the OFN, it'd be very interesting

Honestly this must be a shit pill to swallow for our fellow Czech and Russian players to sympathize a brutal murder in OTL..
Less than you might think. A lot of Czechs don't really care about WW2 anymore, considering they were fucked by the Poles and Slovaks who both aided the Germans, and were abandoned by literally every other nation in the world except Mexico. After that they were occupied by the Nat-Socs, then Commies, and now you've got a pretty nasty divide between the German focused Pro-Eu and Pro-NATO groups, the lingering communist groups, and everyone else who just wants to be left alone.
On top of that, Reichscommissariat Bohemia was less bad than, say, occupied Poland. Reinhard was more of a murderous psychotic, than totally delusional and pant on head wacky like Himmler was.
What about the other Western and Eastern Slavs (I also forgot about the slovenians)
Even in this timeline Poland is still lost 💀

I just love how INSANE this scenario is. Somehow… it he LITERAL SS… the most psychotic group basically ever… is SOMEHOW THE GOOD GUYS HERE.
WHAT IS GOING ON
If you watched the Mandalorian, [SPOILERS AHEAD]:
Can you recall the scene where Mando and Mayfield (a former Imperial) were rescued by a sudden tie fighter strafing run followed by Imperial Remnant stormtroopers running out to gun down the remaining chasing pirates? Then you hear heroic triumphant music while the stormtroopers salute the rescued two pulling in. All of that wholesomeness feeling goes away immediately once that officer shows up and confronts Mando. It gets worse the point after Mayfield saves Mando from that officer’s lecture before the subject changes to him talking smugly about Operation Cinder, the incidental event Mayfield got his PTSD from after seeing many of his comrades die at the hands of the Imperial elites, which triggers him in that moment shoot that officer first before everyone else in the room.
So, somewhat like that…

Honestly, I find it a shame that this Content is set to be axed from TNO in the near Future.
Yes, I know it's not very "realistic" (GOD, how much I have come to LOATHE this Word in relation to TNO...) or "historically accurate" to the RL Personality of Heydrich...but, dammit, it is just such a good Story! I wish they would at least keep it in as an optional Player-only path when they rework Heydrich's content.
It is also very insulting to the Czech audience to have a sympathetic story for the man who slaughtered so many of their people, which is the main reason its being changed

@@dremin7902 the point is that the "offensive" characters in the mod are characterized properly, for example Himmler, maybe he didn't actually want to nuke the whole world, but the brutality of his rule is in line with his character IRL. with Heydrich, you have him being portrayed as this Steven Universe-ass character who realizes why he is wrong and its a wholesum chungus reddit arc and its a bad characterization

Heydrich is interesting in this mod. Hard to win the civil war but intresting end with him finishing the German Reich.

I dunno why, but when I see smiling countryballs in your videos they genuinely make me happy, even for Heydrich. Then there's Himmler who doesn't even look at me but I can still feel the purple void in his eyes staring back at me.
Then Im reminded that Im cheering for Heydrich, a dude that used civilians as suicide bombers at gunpoint during the GCW and had his own SS cadets doing the same albeit willingly to the point that I even asked "did this guy train the f**king daesh or something"

Its sad to see that the heydrich path only end in anarchy and dont have something more meanwhile the others liders can became ruler of world (goring),restore the status quo (borman) and make reforms (speer)
I get what you mean, but I think this current dichotomy is also the most meaningful. Either Heydrich fails to see the madness which fills his ideology (and he hands over the nukes to Himmler resulting in the end of the world.) Or, he follows a redemption arc whereby his eyes are opened to the true horrors of the Nazis' actions (resulting in him choosing to end his own life and that of the ideology)

I've said this before but I'll say it again, you should totally do an accelerationist France video in red flood and spread the ideology as I've noticed there's not one accelerationist gameplay, plus it'd be incredibly interesting

He was called the Butcher of Prague, he was kind of a puppet to Himmler, and one of the architects of the Holocaust. There is no way in this timeline he would stop his hatred of minorities and the love of his ideology and party.
Honestly I am happy that the TNO devs are reworking his path because I think it's going to be a better experience in terms of narrative and gameplay.
I mean, he didn't stop any of that. He simply realized how insane burgundy, and by association the reich was to nuke literally the world. He didn't fix anything, he just killed himself.

it isn't just you, the name of the track is Germania's twilight, inspired by "Wir sind des Geyers shwarzer haufen" which the melody for was compose in 1919 by fritz sotke, which sounds similar to the "szara piechota" which melody for was composed in 1918, which might have been inspired due to its similar sounding by a 1916 romanian war song "Treceți batalioane române Carpații"
