Cheers for this. I have been struggling for ages to get routes to follow (non-alerting waypoints, alerting waypoints, but not shaping points….)etc, and you have explained it brilliantly - thanks!!

On behalf of all Basecamp users: Thank you for these videos! BC is so horrible. They should pay for a years worth of massages for you! Cheers!

Thanks Alex. For some reason my brain just gets BaseCamp. Great feedback and I'll keep working on the rest of the series.

Un grand merci ...vraiment !!! 👍
    Patrick 😊

Thanks Patrick. It's actually a Honda but the 2010 model year had a Green colour scheme available which I liked. I'm a citizen of the EU and love the EU flag. Thanks for the feedback.

Nice, clear explanations. Do you plan to cover trip planner in a future video? I use it a lot, but it has some quirks (at least in v4.6) that are mildly annoying, particularly the way it handles dates.

Thanks. It took a while to put this video together because I kept discovering more and more layers of the BaseCamp onion. I plan to look at Trip Planner in a future video.

Why would I use base camp vs the website?

Which version of BC are you running? I was running 4.6 and upgraded to 4.7 a few years ago and had a number of issues. I ended up rolling back to 4.6. Now that 4.8 is out, I am wondering if the issues with 4.7 have been corrected.

Hi. I made this video using version 4.8.4 which was the latest available when I came to download it. I've found it to be stable on the Mac.

I just returned from a ride to Alaska and decided to upgrade Basecamp. I was at 4.6. The automatic upgrade option only say 4.7 and did not give 4.8 as an option so I decided to just download and install 4.8. That may have been a mistake as I lost the last trip I had created which was for my recently completed ride to Alaska. I was able to upload it from the BMW Nav V into Basecamp, but it is weird that all of my old trips were found, but not the most recent one. I suspect it is still on the hard drive somewhat, but I am not sure what BC’s file structure is and not sure where to look for it. The only annoyance in uploading from the device is that you can’t upload as a trip, only as a series of routes.

@@LTVoyager That's strange. Maybe the new version created a new database. The old database should still be on your hard disk. You can connect to it if you can find it.

jobybyrne Yes, I have a little more research to do to see if I can find where it is stored.
